Exciting New Discovery (D3 EM)

[Delmi Koor]

Delmi walked into the museum early that morning… she had a dual purpose known only to herself.

She approached the front desk and asked for information on where to find Kellen Rist.

[Kellen Rist]

Eventually she would be shown through to a remarkably tidy office. There was field equipment in one corner, a collection of physical copy books and journals, and a data terminal. There was also an extremely comfy chair, a couple of simpler ones, and a kettle plus a full pot of kaff.

Kellen was pouring over some notes when Delmi arrived. He looked up. "Oh, not wearing the robes this morning Padawan Yil? Another early morning adventurewas it?" There was a pause as he did a double take. "Oh. Hang on. Hmm. My mistake, I thought you were someone else!"

[Delmi Koor]

Delmi paused and looked confused during the moment of identification confusion.

“Uhh… yeah. Sorry. I’m uhh… Delmi Koor. You’re Professor Rist?”

[Kellen Rist]

"I am indeed! Pleased to meet you Delmi Koor." He looked at her more carefully. "Please, take a seat. Is there something I can help you with? There's kaff if you like?"

I'll have to get her in the same room as Yil. Perhaps they are related?

[Delmi Koor]

“Nah, I’m good. I actually had some before I left.” She said with a smile. “Thank you though.”

She found her way to a seat and sat down, “I had a couple of things I’d like to ask you about if I can… First is one I think you’ll find interesting.”

She crossed her legs and leaned back a bit in her chair, “Do you know of any ancient ruins around House Syrush? Maybe underground?”

[Kellen Rist]

"Very good, you won't mind if I get a top up!" Kellen poured some more and sat back down. "Hmm, Syrush you say? Yes, I believe there are some old remains of a settlement. Old abandoned holdings, mostly living spaces. I think they are occupied by Killiks now though."

[Delmi Koor]

“Yeah… yeah. As of last night, however, the ruins are now uninhabited.” She replied.

“I was on a mission on behalf of House Syrush. We cleared out the bugs… and as I was walking around there I saw what looked to be important archaeological stuff… Albeit it was covered in bug hardened goop.”

[Kellen Rist]

"Oh? Well now that is interesting! Sounds like you've been busy then. House Syrush will be pleased." He leaned back in his chair and took a sip of black coffee. "Can you describe any of it to me? Not the goop, the er 'stuff."

Perhaps there was another field trip in his future? It seemed his trip home was getting more interesting by the day.

[Delmi Koor]

"It appeared to be ancient halls... like a large manor on an estate... except underground. Fairly expansive... but I'm sure the Killiks probably expanded quite a bit on their own past whatever was originally there." She said with a nod.

[Kellen Rist]

"Hmm, I'll have a chat with the representatives of Hpuse Syrush and see if they want a professional assessment. Thank you for bringing this to my attention." He gave her a smile and drank some more kaff.

"Maybe there's some lost history down there. I'll let you know if anything comes of it. Now. You said you had a few questions? What else did you wish to chat about?"

[Delmi Koor]

“Something a bit more personal I’m afraid… I was wondering if you had ever seen someone I’ve been trying to track down.”

She paused, “I recently learned that my mother is from Alderaan… and the information I now know puts her on planet about 8 years ago. She was a friend of Vidara and Galen Rist… here I have a picture.”

She pulled out a locket with a Holopic of her two parents.

“Do you know anyone who was close with them?”

[Count Serenno]

They weren't the only ones at the museum at that time, though the Count apparently followed his own agenda in studying the gathered artifacts, not imposing on their privacy as long as they needed it.

[Kellen Rist]

“Something a bit more personal I’m afraid… I was wondering if you had ever seen someone I’ve been trying to track down.”

She paused, “I recently learned that my mother is from Alderaan… and the information I now know puts her on planet about 8 years ago. She was a friend of Vidara and Galen Rist… here I have a picture.”

She pulled out a locket with a Holopic of her two parents.

“Do you know anyone who was close with them?”

He leaned over to take a close look at the faces. A few moments passed but eventually he shook his head. "I'm sorry but I was away finishing Grad school and starting my first full time position at that time. I wasn't home much. I do recall that there were a few people from Thul who trained at Rist, and I think maybe I saw them." An apologetic smile followed. "You probably need to speak to my Aunt, or someone who was around more at that time."

He sipped his kaff. "I liked Galen. It was...lets say odd of the Jedi to send Hoshin."

[Delmi Koor]

She nodded, "I thought I'd take a stab in the dark. Pretty much everyone I ask doesn't seem to know much."

She smiled and gestured toward him with an open hand, "If anyone should know stuff it'd be the professor, right?"

Her smile changed ever so slightly, hard to tell why really. "Yeah... She's an acquired taste..."

[Kellen Rist]

"It was certainly worth a go! Have you considered seeking an appointment with Duchess Rist? I could let her know in advance. Perhaps she would take the call." He wasn't sure, but perhaps his aunt would decide to reply.

"As for Hoshin, well, she has had her fair warning. I hope that she finds her evidence if it exists." It was hard to be overly sympathetic given the woman had murdered one of his relatives

[Delmi Koor]

“I think I might give it a try… It’s why I’m out here in the first place. To figure out who this person was and more about her…” She said with a soft smile.

She simply nodded at the comment about Layne. There was no judgement coming from the woman who had spent most of her young life holding a grudge against her mother for what she did to her dad.

“I’m sorry to bother you with all that… I hope the tunnels turn out to be something helpful though. We thought we were just scaring the Killiks away but it turned out our little device was more effective than we thought… Probably should be pretty Killik-free by now.”

[Kellen Rist]

"Then I wish you the best of luck. Hopefully your quest for answers will be successful. I will let my Aunt know to expect a call. Whether she takes it or not..." He spread his hands.

"And thank you for the tip about those tunnels. Definitely worth a call to Syrush. I'll let you know if it turns out to be anything interesting!"

[Delmi Koor]

She smiled, "Sounds great. Add me in your Acknowledgements when you write the book on ancient Syrush."

She stood up and gave a relaxed salute that was as far from military-approved as possible... more of a high wave than anything else.

[Count Serenno]

In the background, the Count was obviously after something, finding his way into the library section.
