[Day 8 - LA] Royal Review

by Jameela Panteer
Jameela had convinced the Queen to join her at the Museum after her meeting with the Jedi and Galen, she curious about what was going on with this killik vase. She really had meant to spend more time here but she had been having more fun at the event than she had originally thought she would. Lana Beniko traveled with them.
They had just finished their meeting and were now leisurely looking at the displays before they departed back to the castle via shuttle.

Galen had actually known very little about the vase. He had been sent some of the information that had been uncovered, but didn't have much context. He also knew fairly little about Alderaan art. He wondered about other artifacts from the early years of colonization.
So, he has come back to the museum.
Running into anyone of interest was entirely a coincidence.

Lana looked at the relics on display with vague interest.

Having heard that the Princess and the Queen were interested in the vase Kellen sought them out. He was the expert after all. "Good afternoon your Majesty, your highness. Please, if you have any questions about our exhibits do not hesitate to ask."
He spotted Galen and nodded, adding a polite smile.

“We are told an exhibit was recently sold to House Organa, it has a checkered past can you elaborate as the other staff were less than knowledgeable on the subject,” the Queen said.

Kellen nodded, his expression showed his annoyance. "Indeed it was your Majesty, over my objections I must add." He breathed out and calmed himself to relate the history of the vase.
"The vase was one of a set of three such items that date back to the earliest days of human colonization of Alderaan. It shows stylized images of humans and killiks peacefully cooperating. Supposedly in this period there was no such thing as Joiners and the planet was at peace. Padawan Yil Kumos found it in the museum archives and began to study it. She alerted me to the potential importance, but then the item was mysteriously stolen, and just as mysteriously returned. I was only able to look at it a few days ago, and then the museum was bri... decided to sell it to a private collector on Delaya. The collector now has the full set of three relics."

"This level of excitement seems out of the ordinary, or is this occurrence more common than we are led to believe," she responded.

"No, you are quite right your majesty. Art theft does occur of course, but this was something very unusual. Explosions, speeder chases, mercenaries. Not exactly a typical week in the life of an academic." He smiled slightly.

"We are grateful for your academic prowess, then," she responded.

Galen had drawn closer, wanting to hear Kellen's explanation as well. He had said nothing and just listened.

"I have persuaded the collector to give me access to the relics. I believe there may be more to them than meets the eye and I look forward to giving your majesty a full report." There was no point providing Ghoun's suspicions until he had evidence. Otherwise it all sounded a little mad.

"When will you get to see them?" Galen asked. "I'll try to keep Baesal from pestering you."

Kellen gave Galen a friendly smile. "Hopefully later tonight, or perhaps early tomorrow. It will be daytime on Delaya then and I am sure the new owner," he did his best not to grit his teeth, "will appreciate me recognizing that for a change."

Aurilie was found meandering the halls of the museum with one of her
casual outfits, perhaps spending a little time brushing up with history and finding suitable conversation topics for the ball. She might have heard that the Queen's (and Princess!) entourage would be the museum but maybe at this particular wing. Despite her surprise of walking into the little gathering, she would at least give proper respect by bowing deeply to the Queen and Princess.

"Well, I look forward to learning more about the vases." Galen said. "Even if we learn nothing special, it will be nice to know."

"Indeed, efore they decided to sell off the one we had I was hoping to persuade the museum to buy the remaining two so that we could display them here. I was rather looking forward to hosting a charity event and giving a lecture on them." He drummed his fingers against his belt then an idea occurred to him. Kellen looked at the Queen and began.
"I don't suppose your majesty would be interested in such a thing? Perhaps that would sway the new owner to let us display them on an official recognized loan. The vases really do belong in a Museum. I hate to see our history locked away in a private collection."

"We could speak with House Organa, in the name of history," she advised. "We can see if they are amenable to such."
