A dawn in space on the Sunset Dawn [Day 0, Morning]

She rolled her eyes when Daz did the hashtag-in-actual-words thing, turning to Baesal instead.

"So, they're aggressive, right? And they're... bugs..." she seemed to be mulling it over as she was talking "...so they have a... queen? And maybe the others are just, dumb drones fighting everything they see? So you should find the queen....? Or am I assuming too much?"

She shrugged. "Sounds complicated, anyway."

[Baesal Zyn]

''I am not sure at the moment. But I aim to do extensive research'' she replied honestly ''But I do foresee trouble with them at some point. It would be good for the jedi to be proactive for a change instead of letting things hit us first.''

[Layne Hoshin]

There was a meaningful nod and then a silence, laden with the heavy weight of internal conflict.

"...well, if they're a *threat*, I'll be there to help of course. Tyche too," she craned her neck looking toward the sleeping quarters, "...if she's not still asleep when the bugs attack, anyway."

She could probably use the experience, though she wasn't going to say that part out loud.

''Mmmh'' the togruta frowned ''Let's hope it won't come to that. The killiks, like Daz said, are sentient and reasoning with them should be our first objective. I am certain it won't be easy but it would seem to be the best long term solution if we can pull it off. That said I am sure we will face opposition in this.''

She turned to Daz

"Lay it on me, Master," Daz responded as he continued dismantling the droid head.

[Layne Hoshin]

"I mean, if they're cooperative and reasonable, I don't see why not. I'm just saying, might not happen that way. And if it doesn't, we can be there."

She shrugged, leaning back and locking her fingers together across her stomach as she watched the interaction between Daz and Baesal play out. She was curious what this task would be, but she was also still just generally perplexed at the notion of Daz being a proper padawan.

"Lay it on me, Master," Daz responded as he continued dismantling the droid head.

''I want you to get social during the festival. Talk to the various people to get their general pulse, possible gossips...intel gathering essentially.'' she smiled ''Using your vlog as an icebreaker to set up interviews and getting nice shots of the festivities could be a good way to start...we could even work on building you a camera drone.''

[Dapper Dog]

Daz smiled broadly and said, “Can do, Padawan Daz Hoshin is on the case. Anything specific I should be looking for or just get a general sense of the people? Also a camera drone would be whizz.”

[Baesal Zyn]

''In my experiences, Hoshins have good instincts following leads so follow you gut and trust in the Force.'' she grew a bit serious ''But do be careful...and mind to learning alderaani etiquette. Different ways are required to approach different people...being able to be a social chameleon can open doors otherwise closed.''

[Dapper Dog]

Daz grinned and then said seriously, "You can rely on me, Master."

[Baesal Zyn]

She nods before finishing her drink with a smile

''Tried your new suit yet?''

[Dapper Dog]

"Yeah, it's pretty whizz, I'll jizz up the colors a bit, but I like it thanks Master," he responded.

"Go great with tattoos... also I want tattoos."

[Baesal Zyn]

''My pleasure'' she considered the tattoos for a second ''When you are of age I think that would be feasible...but tattoos are recognizable. We'll talk again about that later''

She steepled her fingers

''Oh...and if you find romance with an alderaani girl during the festival, come talk to me. No need to keep that hidden between us''

"I know how girls and boys work, but umm okay, yeah for sure," he responded.

[Baesal Zyn]

''Biology is not the thing that could be the problem: Attachment, expectation...matters of the heart can be a problem for even the greatest jedi.''

[Layne Hoshin]

"You know, I have a cam droid somewhere you can use," she said when that particular piece of equipment was mentioned. "It's pretty great for scouting."

She would roll her eyes at the talk of Alderaani girls though. Romance? Really? Hopefully she was not going to have to have *that* conversation with Tyche any time soon.

''Biology is not the thing that could be the problem: Attachment, expectation...matters of the heart can be a problem for even the greatest jedi.''

"Oh... yeah for sure, of course Master, attachment is bad, I remember the speeches at the old Temple. You ever been had to deal with attachment? I don't have to ask my cousin... forever alone. I think she likes that. Probably like ace or something, totally cool, mad respect."

"You know, I have a cam droid somewhere you can use," she said when that particular piece of equipment was mentioned. "It's pretty great for scouting."

''Oh? That is quite fortunate! Thank you Layne.''

"Oh... yeah for sure, of course Master, attachment is bad, I remember the speeches at the old Temple. You ever been had to deal with attachment? I don't have to ask my cousin... forever alone. I think she likes that. Probably like ace or something, totally cool, mad respect."

She paused ''Yes I did, I still do in some fashion...attachments are not always bad for they can give perspective and experience. It is most often when they gain to much control on you or when you refuse to let go of something that must be that things turn bad.''

[Dapper Dog]

"So you have let it go then? Or is that a work in progress kind of thing?" he responded.

"If not for those attachments you might not be walking out of this ship alive after a comment like that, Daz," she said when he quipped his 'forever alone' quip. Layne's response had been a joke too. Layne was good at those.
