Time to be an adult? (D1 MA closed)

[Azura Mora]

The staff at Midnight transport office had a relatively easy life. Jax was calm and pretty nice, and while there was work coming in it's not like they were rushed all over the place. The only exception was when Azura was not in a good mood, but then the staff knew to keep out of the way.

Today was a confusing day. Azura didn't seem in a bad mood, but she also didn't seem happy. She also wasn't looking messy, or oily, or surrounded in weapons. She was...smart. Ish. It was unnerving for some.

For Azura, she didn't really consider what others thought. She was torn between going over her notes, checking the time, and sending mental angry messages at Jax for being away meaning she had to take this meeting. A client! A potential new one and she had to not scare them off.

Safe to say as she paced around her room with her datapad in her hand, she was slightly worried.

[Dapper Dog]

Her guest arrived promptly, or at least the droid owned by the guest arrived promptly and alone.

[Azura Mora]

"...Huh."

Azura turned to look at the droid through the door, before moving to open it.

"Hi. You the one looking for the meetin'?"

[Dapper Dog]

The droid beeped and booped and then spun and then produced a holo-image.

"Greetings is this the Midnight packing something or the other?" a man's voice came through.

[Azura Mora]

"This is Midnight transport yeah. Welcome! Come in, I'd offer you a drink but not sure it'll be warm by the time your droid brought it over" Azura stood to a side to invite the holo-man on a droid in "I'm Azura Mora. Jax is currently out on a delivery a lil further away but we're the two that run-it."

[Dapper Dog]

The holo-image said, “Excellent, well I am Ghoun Rist of House Rist and I have a package that should be delivered to you by the end of the day. If you could arrange discrete transport to the following coordinates provided by my droid I would be prepared to pay three times your normal rate for haste.”

[Azura Mora]

Three times?!

Azura managed somehow not to hop. She also remembered that Jax had the ship, and internally cursed.

Will have to somehow arrange an extra ship for a day. Kriff!

"Well met Ghoun. Ask no questions kinda deal right? Sure, I think I can get that arranged. Just need to see distances."

[Dapper Dog]

The coordinates are provided by the droid put it on the outer edge of the system even by sublight it will take a few hours, at least six to eight and the arrival according to the system seems to be a comet in stable orbit in a cloud of them around the star.


"Excellent, excellent. Funds will be transferred once the package is in the custody of my agents, I presume there is some kind of gauche, security deposit?" he said.

[Azura Mora]

"Well yeah, although that does require me to ask how big an item is being delivered. Don't need to know more than that, as need to know how big a ship is needed to deliver. The smaller the better of course" Azura said with a nod "means smaller ship, smaller costs both to me an' you as I'm sure you understand."

[Dapper Dog]

"Less than 50 kg of weight, I am sure," he offered.

[Azura Mora]

"Oh that ain't a problem then. Hmm, lemme see..."

Azura loaded up her datapad and keyed in some numbers. Or at least made it appear that way as she loaded Jaxs normal data sheets.

"Usually we'd say 10-20% of mission costs as a security deposit. We'll say for this 15%, so usual costs would be...5k for the mission, 15k as three times. So that'd be by my math..." she keyed a few more numbers "about 2250 for a deposit."

[Dapper Dog]

"Done but I expect full service support, if anything goes wrong, I will hold you personally responsible," the noble responded.

[Azura Mora]

"You can count on it" Azura said with a nod "I'll make detailed notes throughout for you too. As it's meetin' your people, anything I need to note about the people meetin'? Wouldn't want someone to disrupt it."

[Dapper Dog]

"They will have signifier code, I will pass along the response key," he said kindly.

[Azura Mora]

"Then I think we got a deal sorted here" Azura smiled "I would shake your hand but well...you know" she motioned to the hologram projection "either way, you won' be disappointed."

[Dapper Dog]

The droid ended the call then turned and left.

Azura showed the droid out before returning back to her office and bringing up her data pad.

Hmm...I was working on that ship a few weeks ago, she's flightworthy. Pilotable with just one too. Jax'll be so proud when he gets back and sees that tidy profit!

She spent the rest of the afternoon making notes.
