"I'm not lookin' to proselyte any more than you are... You seem pretty committed to your life. Willing to do pretty much anything to see what you want to have happen, happen... I just need the Alderaan plot you guys are aiming for to fail. I'm not sure how important it is in your grand scheme. I don't know any of the tensions that might exist between you and your friends.... I don't know any of that stuff. But if there's something more important to you than this Alderaan thing... Somebody more dangerous to your designs than these innocent folks... Some greater objective that you need help with..."

She pointed to herself, "Well then... that's where you ask me for some help. What did you just say... 'You know my terms, you think you know me, so fill in the blanks and let's find a solution'... Something like that?"

[Dapper Dog]

“So we work together, is this a serious offer?” she responded.

[Delmi Koor]

Delmi tilted her head and nodded, "Deadly serious."

[Dapper Dog]

“Free me and we work together. You don’t turn me over to SIS or the Jedi, I can get you information that can halt our operations. If that’s agreeable we have terms,” she admitted.

[Delmi Koor]

"Where do we pick up Theron? We can drop you off there..." She replied.

[Dapper Dog]

"Find an empty field on Alderaan, these coordinates [coordinates given]. You leave me there, once I am free, you get Theron and the data you need. Good luck convincing your Jedi to agree," she responded.

[Delmi Koor]

Delmi nodded and gave her mother one last look. She didn't need to say anything else. Resolve met resolve in a glance of mother and daughter.

She then turned and exited out of the room... closing the door behind her.

[Layne Hoshin]

A little while later, the door opened again, revealing Layne instead of Delmi; who proceeded to find herself a seat, placing it in front of the woman, before slowly sitting down and looking at her for a good solid minute or so before actually making a noise.

"...so. Family, huh?"

[Dapper Dog]

She finds the woman standing checking her wrists free of the binders. She seems moderately surprised to see Layne but not overly so. Still she waited to till the Jedi spoke and said, “If this is a long rendition of Bad cop, Jedi cop then we can skip that.”

[Layne Hoshin]

"Lady, *I'm* the bad cop." She said, wondering why Delmi had freed her from the bindings too. Then again, where was she going to go? To do what? They were in space, and she wasn't going to complete a succesful mutiny for sure.

"But maybe I just want to get a sense of you myself. Cause your daughter might not be thinking very straight about this. I'm just wondering whether you're going to end up betraying her again."

She reached out through the Force, getting a sense of the woman's feelings as best as she could.

“Of course,” she responded.

“I didn’t know her until she made herself known, that’s hardly a betrayal simply a conflict.”

OOC: Eerie calm and focus, but no strong emotion.

[Layne Hoshin]

She frowned, not getting as much as she was hoping for. This woman was clearly trained in certain techniques aimed against resisting Force users. Not a surprise, perhaps, but annoying to say the least.

"Of course? So you admit you're going to betray her again?"

Maybe that wasn't what she had intended to say, but Layne decided to take it that way regardless even if just to elicit *some* kind of emotion from the woman. Even if it was just annoyance.

"And I say *again*, because you tried to blow her up. Which is a pretty big betrayal of your motherly duties I think. And then you did it again, when you let her *plummet* to her presumed death."

[Dapper Dog]

She looked at the interior while listening and said, “How long until we reach Alderaan?”

[Layne Hoshin]

"This is my ship," she said with a shrug, "Even if we're about to hit Alderaan orbit, we reach planetside until *I* say we do. So, it's in your best interest to humor me and don't stonewall me *completely*, because ultimately I'm the one who decides whether you go free today, not your daughter. And I think you know that I'm probably the *worst* Jedi you could've picked to try this whole 'release me or my buddies kill your buddy' routine on, so don't expect that to inspire a faster arrival. We're not landing anywhere until we finish our little chat to my satisfaction, so you might as well just go with it."

She shrugged.

"So. You and Vidara went ghost protocol after I killed Galen, huh? Got to say, all this time? You are dedicated, if nothing else."

[Dapper Dog]

“Really? Your actions with Tyche, say otherwise?” she responded.

“You are a tough woman, but you have blind spots. I am always prepared to die, you are not wasting my time, just his. He means nothing to me. Collateral damage.”

She raised a brow at her latter statement and said, "Clever, did your Force show you that?"

[Layne Hoshin]

"Tyche is a kid," she said with a shrug, "Theron isn't. And unlike her, *he* made a conscious decision to become the kind of man he is, doing the kinds of things he does. I'm not sure he'll be happy with us trading you for him, either. In that, I guess he and you are alike. Prepared to die for what you think is right. Only I don't think he'd resort to terrorism that gets innocent people killed. I get that you think you're helping save more lives by getting rid of the Jedi and Sith both, but at some point you'll realize this isn't a math problem. It doesn't work like that."

She didn't expect the woman to get it. Maybe not *ever*. But hey, if Layne could change... why not her?

In any case, a raised brow in response to her mentioning the last bit was at least *something* in terms of an emotional response.

"It's not 'my' Force. It affects all of us. You included. To a Jedi, it shows us what we need to know when we need to know it. And to people like you, well, it ties us all together. Bringing us where we are supposed to be. Or did you think it was just a coincidence that in a galaxy of hundreds of trillions, the woman hanging out with your daughter and ending up chasing you down, just *happened* to be the same one that killed Galen? You can fight the Jedi and Sith, but you can not fight the Force. These coincidences will keep happening over and over, there will be new cycles. And even if you got rid of our orders, someone will rediscover the teachings left behind, guided there by the Force. Some power hungry Force sensitive will find themselves a Sith holocron or tome, and they will build themselves an empire or a cult or whatever... and then there will be darkness... and eventually, someone will retrace the steps of the Jedi, in order to stand against that darkness. In order to save lives. Because that's what we do. You think that without the Sith and Jedi, there will be peace. Some of us can see the future. I can't, but I know those who can. I know you won't end the Sith or Jedi. And even if that were not the case, I know there would still be conflict regardless. Because there's *always* conflict..."

She regarded her more closely, "...at least the Jedi try to stand against it today. At least we try to make a positive difference. We *have* made a positive difference. So what does it matter to you, if people die because of a conflict between the Sith and Jedi... or in some inevitable future conflict between sides as yet unnamed?"

[Dapper Dog]

"Because peace is not the point, only removal of the dominance and influence of the Sith and Jedi philosophies," she responded.

"Those two orders have too much control and influence, they need to be excised. Even you see it."

[Layne Hoshin]

"If the Sith weren't a thing I might actually agree with you, if not your methods. But all it takes is *one* of them, and they will subvert and destroy everything. Hell, if you ask me, your little club has probably already been infiltrated with them, if it isn't just a pyramid scheme set up by a Sith in the first place. How many of these cells do you even have operating in the Empire as opposed the Republic?"

She sighed. "The Jedi serve the Republic, not the other way around. We have influence because of our ideals, because we protect the Republic and its people from people who care about nothing but their own power and ambition. We're not perfect, I know that more than *anyone*. It took me a long time to come around on the Jedi, myself. But *nobody* can be perfect. All we can do is *try* what we can. Try to make things a little less shit. And so far, all I've seen you people do is try to make it *worse*."
