[Day 8 EE] No Time for Rest (Open)

Omandri had just finished and wanted to leave Aurilie and Riss to talk since it seemed to be a more personal matter. He turned to see Kat tending to Blai and nodded approvingly "Well Kat we could make a doctor out of you yet, if you were interested of course." he said with a smile

"I am always interested in learning more that can help other people, doctor, if you're offering to teach," she remarked with a warm tone, giving Omandri a glance over her shoulder, but she was mostly focused on Blai.

"Who knows... but I think I'll be staying on Alderaan for a while after the festival. Help with all that needs doing."

[Riss]

"Ouuph..." she would say at the return hug, feeling a bit of aching from the wound in the process. Not that she was complaining, it was fully worth it.

"Oh, yes..." she said with a sigh, her expression looking a bit dejected as she recalled that moment not too long ago. It did feel like a rather long day for more than one reason.

However, Aurilie didn't seem too hurt about it for long as she gave her friend another squeeze with a kiss on the cheek. She didn't need all the words immediately if Riss was trying to find them.

Riss lightens the hug just a bit at the verbal sound of pain from the aching. Still keeps it just as whole, just as warm, but not as tight, "I'm glad you're okay," she admits on a soft voice. Following with a similar toned somewhat distracted laugh at the kiss on the cheek she pulls back from the hug, laying her hands somewhere on Aurilie's sides where she wasn't hurting. Giving her a good look over, "Sorry, about before. I was.. in a harsh place, mm? Needed.. needed to forget for a little while. Still want to," she half chuckles, shaking her head. There's not much mirth to her tone, either in the chuckle or her voice, it's solid and near flat.

"I had a feeling..." Aurilie sighed softly as she glanced off, recalling that moment at the dance. "To be fair, I probably should have jumped on you like that but I just haven't seen you for over a day and then you just reappear, looking like that."

She certainly wasn't talking about Riss looking like a disaster or breaking any fashion rules but it was hard to deny what she saw in her eyes at the very least.

"That's fine, you need a bit of space too, I'm sure." She gave a small shake of her head, a bit of a loss before looking back at her. "I just wanted to know that you were doing fine. As fine as you can be in the circumstances, anyway."

[Riss]

"I had a feeling..." Aurilie sighed softly as she glanced off, recalling that moment at the dance. "To be fair, I probably should have jumped on you like that but I just haven't seen you for over a day and then you just reappear, looking like that."

She certainly wasn't talking about Riss looking like a disaster or breaking any fashion rules but it was hard to deny what she saw in her eyes at the very least.

"That's fine, you need a bit of space too, I'm sure." She gave a small shake of her head, a bit of a loss before looking back at her. "I just wanted to know that you were doing fine. As fine as you can be in the circumstances, anyway."

"Can't blame you.. after how you saw me last? Kriff.. it's been a rough day.. days? Haven't even sleep," she half chuckles, still dry. Shaking her head at the thought, "I'm.. managing. Barely. Haven't.. haven't managed to sleep since- or even close my eyes," she doesn't continue, shifting uncomfortably she looks around the triage space. Finding Omandri and Kat speaking, Cynella being around too.

"It's.. strange," she says, tone implying thought. "I've every reason to be happier. All my friends are.. alive, beaten up a bit but.. talking, walking, not too worse for wear considering what's happened but I just can't.. can't manage to feel happy at all. Everything feels.. doesn't feel," she says, letting out a breath she didn't know she was holding.

"I'm.. I just wish I could be happier everyone's okay, that I'm okay, and that for the first time in a long time things look like they might get better from here."

[Dapper Dog]

OOC: Omandri, Galen, Kellen, Gil, and Blai; Jameela really liked that. Jocasta, Riss, and Cynella; Joran liked that. Omandri gains 1 suitor point for his medical work.

"Can't blame you.. after how you saw me last? Kriff.. it's been a rough day.. days? Haven't even sleep," she half chuckles, still dry. Shaking her head at the thought, "I'm.. managing. Barely. Finding Omandri and Kat speaking, Cynella being around too.

"It just seems that trouble has a way of sticking with you. Rough few days seem like an understatement for you. It seems more like a few weeks, really." She sighed before giving her a small squeeze. It's been more than a week now, right? "I was really worried about you and I'm happy to see you there."

She would release her hold on her, only so that she could get a good look at her.
Aurilie looked a bit saddened by her feelings but could understand as she took her hand into hers. "...and you're allowed to feel that way. Hardly strange at all. It might be hard to put trust in the present when the future seems uncertain. And some wounds do bite deeper than others...I heard what happened..."

As she trailed off, she arm would find its way around her again to give her every ounce of support, even with the wound on her side.

[Omandri Rist]

"Yeah... I think we all need to help eachother more, after today. Help eachother up, build eachother up. For a better Alderaan."

A pause, and she gave Blai a pat on the shoulder before handing him some water. "And thank you. Master Syo said I was a good student when I put my mind to it."

"It just seems that trouble has a way of sticking with you. Rough few days seem like an understatement for you. It seems more like a few weeks, really." She sighed before giving her a small squeeze. It's been more than a week now, right? "I was really worried about you and I'm happy to see you there."

A slight shudder could be felt in the closeness as Riss found the seconds to just breath and calm herself. Tears welled up, Aurilie would feel that eventually, but Riss hid it as best as she could.

"It's just.. it feels like a haze over everything I do. Every time I close my eyes it just.." she shudders again, stopping there and just trying to give herself time.

She remembered that Riss had been hopeful that Bryson would be free with his kids, which Aurilie thought was unlikely...but didn't expect this to happen. Riss looked pretty happy just talking about him a few days ago, too, she recalled.

At this point, Aurilie probably didn't think about her wound as much. She put a hand atop Riss's head and calmly stroked her hair. Her face looked pained as she felt the shudder from her. It was bad enough that she lost him and even worse to see it happen. She remembered that Riss had been hopeful that Bryson would be free with his kids, which Aurilie thought was unlikely...but didn't expect this to happen. Riss looked pretty happy just talking about him a few days ago, too, she recalled.

Nor any sort of cheques and balances were considered on Aurilie's part. She allowed the silence to sink in, especially when words had been exhausting on Riss's part. There was no need to explain any further and Riss was in very need of respite from everything, Aurilie thought she deserved it. She would stop trying to make her hair neat again and her hand just slide down to her back to give her gentle pats.

[Blai Frayus]

"Ringing head could mean a concussion, which should be looked at before you attempt to sleep. Concussions are more dangerous than they often feel like." She said firmly but with some friendliness in her tone still.

"Blai it is then, as long as you call me Katarzyna, or Kat, as my friends tend to do. Ok. Just... relax, take it easy. I'll check your vitals and such, alright? Then take a closer look at that head."

Hearing her words, he knew she was right, of course... and he nodded with friendly smile. "Well... I'll just keep quiet and accept your help then. Thanks... Kat!"

"Yeah... I think we all need to help eachother more, after today. Help eachother up, build eachother up. For a better Alderaan."

A pause, and she gave Blai a pat on the shoulder before handing him some water. "And thank you. Master Syo said I was a good student when I put my mind to it."

As she finished treating him, the ringing was... still there, but it felt as if it had subsided quite a bit - and it would fade more and more until being all but gone by the end of the day.

"That... feels much better!" Then, taking the glass of water. "Dr Rist", he said, nodding towards Omandri "is right, you're quite skilled!" A look toward the doctor, a bit downcast for a while, but then suddenly more cheery again. "There is much to do here, indeed... I feel I might try to take some time from my research off-world if I can help more here. I wonder if the University would support the decision..."
