[Day 8 - LA] The Queen and Soldier

“I have met Jedi, real Jedi, and you good sir are anything but… with your boyish haircut and rapscallion manner, I have seen padawans with better fashion sense. Please don’t insult the Jedi, if you’re a real Jedi recite the code? I bet you’re one of those fake Jedi fans,” he scoffed.

“Has my daughter been secured? Her defiance this morning was not like her,” Bouris commanded as he held the strap and looked out from the shuttle as the Panteer palace came into vide.

“No my lord, but I have our best out looking for her,” one of his officers retorted crisply.

“If harm comes to her, Captain…” he did not finish the threat as he focused back on the palace. “This is our moment of triumph, contact the Duchess Rist, I want to know when the Panteers are dead and we have freed Alderaan from their feckless rule. Bring us into the palace.”

“Unleash Hell,” he commanded. And the transports began to descend. The soldiers cheered, “For Ulgo, For Glory!”

[Screenwipe back to the play]

“That’s on me, I set the bar too low,” he said with exasperation. “Well so-called Jedi, what were the final words of Vera Hawke in the finale episode, if you are such a Jedi fan!”

"I... what? That's... she's *not* a Jedi. And I'm not a Jedi 'fan', I'm an *actual Jedi*. Layne Hoshin."

She's just... boobs... and... stole my lightsaber color!

Layne looked all sorts confused by this exchange.

“Is that some original character you made up?” he said dismissively. “I know Jedi, like Jedi Knight Revan or Jedi Master Satele Shan or even obscure ones like Jedi Knight Alysele Organa. Never heard of a Hoshin. Terrible, it’s people like you that really give us true Jedi fans a bad name,” he said rubbing the ridge of his nose.

"Probably don't even know Padawan Daz."

She tried to get a sense for the man's emotional state, see if he was for real or not.

Jerri is blinded by the light and kicks wildly screaming for his poor eyes. His wild kicking connecting with Layne along her backside as he fell to the ground.

“You blinded me, you rapscallion!” he shouted.

A bright flash of light goes off but Omandri is quick to cover his eyes to avoid the worst of its effects.

This would be the most glorious moment of her career as she hit the ground with her fellow troopers. She barked orders, “Secure this area, civilians get to safety. NOW! I want a perimeter, do not resist or you will be considered a Thul conspirator!”

“Get that Rist to safety now! Weapons free, if they resist, kill them.”

A massive droid dropped as it's audio vocalizers blared to life, "ONLINE, Cease and desist civilians. All dissent will be met with extreme violence." Following it were squads of Ulgo Soldiers. Just beyond the where the play is setup there is large defense cannon currently unmanned.

Dammit Omandri thought as it started going down he knew something was going to happen but he didn't think it would happen this soon. He had hoped he still had time to convince his sister to not go through with this madness. He was still reeling from the flashbang but recovered reasonably quickly.

Jocasta listened to the droid blaring it's message as anger welled up inside her. She wanted to jump up off the ground and start blasting at these traitors, but she had to consider the civilians first.

She didn't know what was going on exactly; though it wasn't hard to guess the general situation. The way that they were shouting; this was no legitimate operation. Far from it.

Layne would go for her lightsaber, give a nod toward Tyche, and stepped forward.

"I am Jedi Knight Layne Hoshin, by the power invested in me by the Republic, I order you to stand down!"

She did not expect it to work of course.

The droid leveled their twin linked blaster arm at the Jedi and fired with no care for the people.

The baroness shouted after it fired, “Civilian protocols engaged, for Maker’s sake, minimize casualties!”

OOC: Ulgo Droid (Nemesis) is Adversary a and Defense 1, Baroness (Rival) Adversary 1, Defense 1, Ulgo troopers 4 squads of 4. They start at medium range. Due to panicking people add a setback die to avoid harming incidents, if you don't care ignore it just assume you hurt or kill people in the process.

You do not have weapons drawn or have Force Powers committed, remember powers take an action. The Artillery cannon is at Medium rang to the group, long to the enemies.

Activate Linked for a total of 12 Pierce 2, twice on Layne. Droid used Aim as a maneuver still at Medium.

Layne:

Why in the hell was she not wearing her armor?! Stupid festival rules! Stupid... that hurt!

"Everyone get out of here!" She ducked behind cover and pulled out a stimpack to hit herself with in the leg, at the same time she called upon the Force to bolster her defenses.

Her gaze moved over to Tyche who joined her behind cover, then she looked back, to the rather large and potentially useful cannon. Hopefully someone would notice it also. Someone who was on their side, not the enemy's.

Sense: twice per round, when Layne is attacked, the difficulty is upgraded twice.

Fearsome 3 is triggered when enemies get into engaged.

12 wounds taken, soaked down by 4 (due to pierce 2 ignoring 2 of her soak?), so 8 wounds taken.
1 maneuver to stimpack self and restore 5 wounds
2 strain taken for 2nd maneuver, dive behind cover.
Action to commit a force die to Sense.


Tyche:

Tyche did the same, ducking behind cover as she reached for her own lightsaber. Layne had taught her that sometimes it was okay to be angry, and to use that anger for good. So she decided to yell at them to get some of them to be scared or falter somehow for a moment.

"You guys screwed up so much! *Nobody* fucks with the Jedi Order!"

Tyche Coercion to make some of them falter for a moment maybe? Difficulty?: 2eP+2eA 2 successes, 3 advantage
