Eventually Kellen set down his tools and thanked the others for their assistance. He had taken copious notes.

"Well, it's all very interesting from an archaeological point of view. I can't be exactly sure of the purpose of the vases, but there are faded pictographs and ancient Basic on the inside. Putting it all together it describes the joining process from a scholar or observer. It seems the process cannot be replicated without the aid of a Hive mind of the killiks and since each Hive mind is distinct they are tied to that hive. The account says that the Hive can allow joiners to have more or less initiative and agency. Though most tend to become nothing more than drones, the hive mind can allow a joiner or even a killik greater autonomy in action often to work away from the Hive on the hive mind's behalf."

Kellen seemed excited by the account at least.

"It seems this connection lasts even over vast distances, such as dozens of light years, though joiners tend to get agitated or anxious at such distances. Apparently the Joiner gets addicted to the chemicals in the brain generated by the connection and if pushed to the extreme could generate sever psychosis or mental degradation."

He looked around the room. "This is fascinating, it's basically a first-hand account of early Joiners from scholars who witnessed the events and spoke with them." His eyes met Ghoun's. "I'm sorry, but all signs are pointing to the vases not doing what you thought they might do."

Baesal observed the vases again...while Dr. Rist's evalution was correct and very interesting she had a different set of knowledges.

Kelken shrugged at Ghoun. "Archaeologically speaking, these are fascinating. We can try passing sound waves through them, I am sure Jedi Zyn has the equipment, but I do not believe these relics will do what you want them to."

Kellen smiled. "Crazy hypotheses, zero. Archaeology, one. Perhaps you would like to apologise to our gracious host now Ghoun?"

Ghoun was incensed and for moment seemed to wonder if he could resort to violence but having two Jedi in the room stilled his bravery. he frowned and said, "You must be wrong! I know they are the key! The destruction of the killiks is in our grasp!"

''Professor Rist is quite correct. No secrets or weapons to be deployed here Sir Ghoun.'' she readjusted her lenses

''I do hope you have not given any sum of money to the ones who gave you that intel for it would pain me to tell you that you have been swindled.''

He gestured for his goons to follow and said, "I will prove that I was right, mark my words, master Jedi, professor! For now I shall away."

He departed unless stopped, Countess Verash seemed relieved.

Gil was rather satisfied with the answer, but then he had figured all along they were just vases. Just like there was no Quea'paed the Flying Love Hutt either.

Still he wasn't going to gloat so just watched the proceedings as the continued.

Baesal waited until Ghoun and goons...

She took a mental note for a possible sitcom pitch

''Interesting pieces countess Organa. I thank you for allowing us to observe them but I am curious: would you be willing to part with them?''

Once Ghoun had left Kellen seemed visibly relieved. "Unfortunately Ghoun is rather driven in this regard. I am afraid he will try something stupid, but I will speak with the Dutchess to make sure the family warns him to drop the matter."

He pointed to the datapad. "The good news is that there is plenty for a manuscript. Would you like to be lead author, Padawan Yil?"

He blinked at Baesal's request and seemed rather amused as he waited for the Countess to respond.

“Perhaps when I formulate my will for my estate, I can gift them to the state but otherwise no, I already received a gentle request to have them displayed in whatever remains of the museums in the coming months, but I will have them back here in my private collections,” she responded honestly.

Meanwhile Padawan Yil was pleased with that result and was glad to be doing real academics.

At Kellen's word, Gil's eyes swivled to Padawan Til for a few moments as he gave her an appraising look. Maybe? Well, that could be discussed a bit later.

His eyes did shift back to the professor though ashe spoke. "Shall we be going though Lord Rist? I'm Sure the Lady Organa has been through enough concerning these vases and would like to get them to there proper place where she and they are safe."

Kellen looked to Gil and nodded. "An excellent idea Gil. Countess Verash, it has been a pleasure. I hope to see you again under less unusual circumstances." He smiled and gestured towards the door they had entered through. "Shall we?"

''If you could just give me a minute'' the knight began taking pictures of the vases, several of them, and measuring dimensions.

After a few moments she looked at the gathered data and nodded

''I think I got everything. I should be able to reproduce them virtually''
