[D5, LE] Buying up the past

He nodded. "Yes. When Padawan Yil here mentioned the item had been stolen I was determined to retrieve it. It's rare to find nice pieces from the early period of Alderaan's history. I was concerned that we would lose the chance to learn about them if they disappeared into a private collection."

Looking at Yil he added: "See, no explosions."

Padawan Kumos seemed thankful and said, "The Force is with us..."

That's when the door is ripped off and a merc in armor tries to climb in! The driver squealed and then blaster fire rips through the missing the occupants except the poor driver who slumped forward pushing the vehicle into a dive.

OOC: Kellen get's a turn to act, basically combat. The Merc has no defense and is a Rival at basically Engaged.

Kellen sprang into action. The Merc found itself on the receiving end of a heavily weighted punch as they began a plunge to their possible doom.

"Don't suppose you can fly one of these things Padawan?"

The merc fell blast blasting... he had a long fall ahead.


"I can handle that," she said deftly maneuvering into the driver's seat! She shoved the driver aside with a grimace and then steered the air-speeder away from a collision clipping a taxi.

"Sorry!" she shouted.


Verash grabbed the blaster from her now incapacitated guard. She frowned and looked out the now open door her hair billowing she shouted over the flowing air and speeders, "Please tell me this is not a daily occurrence for you."

She fired her blaster pistol at a quickly approaching air-speeder. Going wide but hopefully giving Kellen a moment to act. They return fire and hit the sir-speeder hard and it begins to smoke as the Organa ducked for cover. But the mercs swerve to miss a truck giving the group room.

OOC: Grazed Kellen for 2 strain. Yil got the vehicle under control but hit a Taxi for 1 system strain meanwhile Verash missed and gave Kellen a boost die. Hit the air-speeder and suffer a setback on their next action the Mercs.

Looking around Kellen saw another blaster pistol in the speeder and grabbed it. Aiming carefully he took a shot. It missed the Mercs but something cool happened!

[Dapper Dog]

The air speeder nimbly avoided the blaster shots only to plow into vegetable truck sending produce and mercs flying in all directions. But from behind a lone speeder whipped down with a Mandalorian in armor.

Verash frowned saying, “They hired Mondo? How ironic.”

Padawan Kumos frantically said, “Countess take the wheel… Professor, I’m coming!” Verash crawled up front with all the dignity she could muster swapping places with the Jedi and hopefully not dying in the process!

But she swerves hard causing Kellen to lose balance! Padawan Kumos tries to slice the cable connecting them to the angry Mondo the Mandalorian! Her green saber igniting as she tries to keep her balance. The cable is served but it drops the Mandalorian onto a passing truck and she lands easily.

OOC: Mondo missed their jump but she fired a (2 Advantage) clamp to grab the under side and is now dangling at Short from the air speeder, setback to shoot at her due to odd angle and traffic. Mondo is a Rival with Defense 1 and Adversary 1. 3 threat from Verash to knock Kellen Prone.

The Padawan cuts the cable but using Threat to land on a passing vehicle, now at Medium.

"Oof! Wait. Hold up. There really IS a Mondo the Mando?!" Kelken sighed. "I'm getting too cynical in my old age."

Lying on the floor of the taxi he carefully took aim at Mondo. The shot was true despite the chaos, clipping the Mandalorian.

"Good work Yil. Any chance you can straighten it out a bit Verash?" Before you throw us out completely...

Verash shouted back, “I am trying! This is why I hire drivers!” She swerved to miss a truck and was now in oncoming traffic but at least it was steady…

Meanwhile Mondo ignited her jetpack and flew up and then twisted to land with a spinning kick to knock the Jedi prone as well. She spoke from under her helmet with a modulated voice, “Where’s the relic!”


Padawan Kumos did a full spin from the kick to land on her feet once more and slash with her lightsaber clipping the Mandalorian as they tussled and then was thrown from the vehicle grabbing the edge holding on for dear life!

She did not see why anyone would enjoy this.

OOC: Kellen did 2 wounds, and suffered 1 strain due to Threat. Mondo is a Rival with Defense 1 and Adversary 1. Verash is now in oncoming traffic due to failure and suffered 1 strain. Mondo successfully entered the luxury air-speeder limo, and used the Advantage to knock the padawan prone. padawan stood up as an Incidental, and Aimed and slashed Mondo for 9 wounds before being knocked prone due to Despair.

Everyone is at Engaged now, but Verash. Boost from Kumos to next ally.

"I can see why!" She was almost as bad a driver as Kellen. He watched the brave Padawan as she almost fell and quickly grabbed her, pulling her back into the speeder.

"Not your time yet Yil." Getting to his feet he faced down the Mandalorian. Taking a boxer's stance he attempted to slug Mondo. "It belongs... in a Museum!" It was a nasty blow that would do little damage against that armour but would leave her seeing stars!

Maneuver to pull Yil into the speeder.

As Kellen knocked the Mandalorian senseless, the Padawan Kumos spun with her green lightsaber and ended the career of Mondo the Mandalorian… the head and helmet tumbled down to the floor as the body fell back and out of the speeder.

Yil Kumos frowned, she did not want that ending but she could not let this menace continue.


The Countess dodged oncoming traffic only to clip a passenger vehicle and then spiral towards a landing pad and have enough wherewithal to crash the now totaled luxury speeder into the deck. It skidded to a halt and was smoking but it seemed for now the danger had passed.

Verash is about to say something when the safety bag deployed silencing her.

OOC: Threat used for safety bag for 2 strain on Verash, Yil did 10 wounds Breach 1, and goodbye Mondo. Incidental to stand and a Maneuver to Aim.

Kellen looked at Yil. "And that's why I should never talk about explosions. Good clean finish." He looked over at Verash. "Nice...um, landing?" It took a while but he helped her out from under the safety bag.

"Perhaps we should all jump on a shuttle and return to the Rist Estate for the night? Seems safer than this place." The speeder smoked and crackled in agreement.

He gave them both a serious look. "As I thought. This is far from over."
