Team Disaster [playing for House Organa]

A usually violent game, but today, it would be played for fun, where injuries would be nothing more than bruises. And maybe injured pride.

Playing for House Organa, a very unusual team stepped out. A royal prince of scandals, a privateer of steaming hot reputation, a Jedi Knight, the fantastic Prince of Joral, the lovely noblewoman from Kuat, and... a Hutt? Playing Huttball? How did this team even come to be?!

Kat at least wondered how this team had come to be. She had suggested to Riss that it could be fun to play, and then Riss had talked to some people and done her usual thing of charming in all the people, and Kat had aired the idea to Gaul in passing at the Fair Grounds. She hadn't expected him to actually join, so here they were. The strangest team on the field.

"Alright. Let's make this a good game," Kat, in a very unusual show, grinned and cracked her knuckles.

---------

The Team Roster:
(giving each team member a chance to post their entry before we start the rolls)
Captain Riss, Team Captain
Gaul Panteer, The Real Team Captain? [NPC, Kat's player volunteers to roll for Gaul]
Desilijic Keyhote, representing all the good hutts!
Katarzyna Ulgo, representing the Jedi!
Aurilie Alde, representing Alde and bringing respectability to the team!
Cynella Andrim, representing Kuat!

Katarzyna is playing for fun, and not for Affection or Suitor-points (looking only to impress Gaul a bit and have a good time).

"Ah ha! Huttball! It's been so long since I played. Father prevailed upon me that I was causing far too many injuries and I had to agree. Still, the camaraderie, the love between teammates. I have missed this!"

Keyhote stretches his arms slowly as Sando massages oil into the hutt's skin...probably scarring some spectators for life.

"And to be going up against such dishonourable opponents. Well, it is an opportunity to distinguish ourselves! A team of heroes against a team of villains!"

Aurilie made her appearance to the field dressed like she was more prepared for a proper royal sport, her outfit consisting of shorts and long sleeve top with blue and white stripes. She wasn't fully aware of the extent of the game as a player but she was more than willing to give it the college try. Even, if she may potentially think twice about it down the line. At the very least, the bruises suffered here might find their way to becoming great tales and shared at the fireplace or over a pint. Nothing ventured, nothing gained!

She certainly did her best to hide her grimace at Keyhote's preparation and she thought she had seen everything from him. "You grace us with your first-hand experience, Ser Keyhote. I hope that we manage some semblance of authenticity to honour your traditional sport. This will be a good showing...so to speak."

Ah. I should have expected such a thing from Riss. Though she wasn't sure if it was Aurilie's 'fault' that the Hutt was present. If anything, teasing her later for the sight of his preparation was in order.

But she couldn't afford to linger on such things. "I reviewed the rules after watching the game the other night. The rules... are still pretty fuzzy to me. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to just hit people for the fun of it."

Do let me know if we're going for Perfect Team or not!

Going for Affection here. Look at me, Joran!

Stepping up, Riss wore just a simple t-shirt under it all so that she'd have ample room for the gear they needed to wear out on the field. Stepping up behind Kat she gives the woman a pat on the back, "We got a good team, mm?" she says with a casual smile, half turning and walking backwards a few steps as she spots Gaul and shoots him a couple finger guns, "Blam," she says and then pivots on a heel as she continues.

Coming up to her new biggest friend Keyhote she almost slaps him on the back before she recoils and puts her hand back on her neck instead. Flashing a finger gun at him instead, "Lookin' good big guy," with a half turn toward Aurilie she leans in and gives her a platonic peck on the cheek, "Ready?" she says, smiling as she moves on past her as well to put a hand on Cynella's shoulder, a pat. "Nice team, right?"

And with that..

Riss was ready to have a good time with some friends today, no pressure just good ol' fashioned Huttball.

[Not going for Affection on this one]

With a booming laugh "You speak well your highness! We'll show these dogs how the sport is meant to be played. Honourably...but with absolutely no quarter!"

It seemed that they really managed to get a cohesive team together for this occasion, at least when it came to social interaction and connections. Hopefully, it would translate into the same effectiveness when it came to working as a team!

Aurilie couldn't help but crack a smile when Riss did her rounds of coaching, she assumed. It seemed she didn't forget her Alderaanian roots with the gifted peck, which she imagined was for good luck in their culture. It is something even done between brother and sister sometimes before a heroic swing. "Ready to win this, of course."

AND THE GAME BEGINS!

Image

Gaul took lead early on as the game begun, directing the motley team with surprising skill that led to the disaster-team scoring the first goal, and were already having a good offensive.

The other team didn't like it and ganged up on the royal. "Woah woah! Easy, there's enough Gaul to go around for everyone!"

Snip
"Away from him you fiends! 6 against 1? Have you no honour?"
Keyhote hefts a wiffle bat fully the size of a grown man
"Then I shall have to teach you! For House Organa and the noble cause of Hutt ball!"

And he launches himself at the nearest opponent who sidesteps and Keyhote...thoroughly covered in oil...keeps going...and going...and going. Until eventually slamming into the rear wall with a thunderous crash of splintering wood.

Starting off good and strong with Gaul, Riss tried to keep her cool and not get too caught up in the flow. Which.. considering the adrenaline from the game wasn't really happening and she got wayyy too worked up on the field enjoying herself to do much that was effective toward a goal but it sure was fun. Instead her efforts might have helped open up some opportunity for one of her teammates however.. being the distracting attraction on the field as she was.

Riss was a distraction enough for half the audience and most of the opposing team, so it came a complete surprise when the Jedi Knight had the ball and was making a run for it.

Katarzyna wove past one defender, and close to the goal line she let the Force enhance her movements as she leap through the air in a graceful somersault. The Ataru instructors at the Temple would've been proud to see her put the idea of Hawk-Bat Swooping into action here with such finesse and agility.

Someone in the audience shouted; "SWOOPING IS BAD!"

AND SCORE!

The superior play gave a great advantage to Team Disaster, and as the other team tried to get a hold of her, they had no such luck. The Jedi was one slippery customer!

Aurilie hit the field sprinting, doing her best to keep on her feet and get to where she needed to go. It was obvious that this was game relied on brute strength and oppressive tactics to hammer the opposing team down. She wasn't sure if she was going to win a fight face to face and focused on keeping one step forward. Her tactics weren't perfect, perhaps missing the fact that she was supposed to prevent a goal in the first place. The opposing ball slipped past her reach and the first goal was claimed by the other team.

However, she was a quick learner and doubled down on her tactics to come back at the opposing them with not one or two but three goals in retaliation! Maybe they shouldn't have thought about getting one past her in the first place.

Oh my, the Prince of Joral is... really something else when she's going at it! Best not to get shored up.

Though they had unfortunately given up a point, Cynella played a tight game. She was much less flashy though that afforded them a tighter defense. "Come on, brave knight! You mustn't give up yet!" She waved her arms at Keyhote, pointing towards the enemy goal line. "Onward! To victory!"

Cyenall's words rouse Keyhote who pushes himself up to his full height even as the enemy surrounds him.
"The Lady is right! This battle is not yet over....No! No it shall not be over until Love has triumphed! Come at me, all of you! Come at me you dogs!"

And with a roar he launches himself into a melee, fists flying in a chaotic scuffle until the noble knight finds himself pinned down by the entire enemy team.
"No goal for you...hutt!" Sneers an enemy player only for Keyhote to laugh in his face
"Foolish biped, you have pinned my arms but you forgot...the tail!" And with a massive heave Keyhote swats the ball away and into the opposing team's camp

"You have left yourself wide open!"

"Excellent play, ser!" Gaul cheered on his Hutt teammate.

The other team remained vary of his effective leadership, so they were able to stop any more progress now, but he still managed to direct the others to set up for future scoring. "Opening to the right! Go go go!"

He saw a spot of trouble for the lady, and he was ever the gentleman. "Lady Andrim, to your left!"

This time he avoided a rough tackle!

"On it!" Kat gave a nod to the prince as he shouted for the opening, and she sprinted in to catch the ball, just barely snagging it away from the other team's fingers as she flipped straight over their heads by using their shoulders as a springboard.

The acrobatic maneuvers left the other team stunned. It was the opening she needed to throw the ball over the goal-line.

Frustrated with the superior play, the Thul team tried to gang up on her, but the Jedi dodged away and stood against their efforts with ease.

While the Thul team was ganging up on Kat, Riss makes her way over by Cynella. All this running around was really taking its toll on her in more than just a few ways but she fought through it, sweat on her brow. "Hey, you got this, you're gorgeous and a legend, a gorgeous legend, give 'em a show," she flashes a smile from Cynella toward the crowd and in the uproar of the rush she finds an opening and makes for it. Scoring a goal for the team amid the cheers and despondent Thul.

Aurilie was eager to get back on the field and score more points for her team. However, the opposing them did have her on watch after her last trick and the same tactics didn't work this time. They quickly closed off the sides so that she couldn't slip in so easily. This perhaps caused her to be reckless this time around and Aurilie charged at the first sign of hesitation, perhaps leaving some openings that allowed the other team to score. It was something she would likely berate herself over, breaking cohesion for glory. Perhaps the spirit of the game got to her? That was no real excuse! She burnt away some advantage for another goal for Team Disaster but was it really worth it?

It was getting close to the finish and they had a substantial lead but could they knock it out of the park? Wrong sport, yes, she knew.

Cynella, with all the praise piling on her, seemed to have made herself quite a target. She tried to charge forward once again, intent on bowling people over. But like the dear knight, she failed to gain any ground with the ball.

But nor would she forfeit it. She clutched onto it hard and shrugged off any attack from naysayers and evildoers. "You cannot overcome me! You waste your breath!" Cynella broke out of the surrounded efforts, which might have seemed comical if not for the violent nature of the sport. She managed to keep her distance until the game's end came to a grinding halt!
