Different Kinds of Home [Day 5, EE]

[Riss]

"Major Niall Organa then," she said all fluffed up and official sounding like. "I'll.. maybe check what he has to say about it all then," she smiles briefly. Turning to whisper something in his ear again, "This is all a plot to keep me around for the next movie night isn't it?" she teases, but clear from even her tone she isn't serious.

[Dapper Dog]

"Major Niall Organa then," she said all fluffed up and official sounding like. "I'll.. maybe check what he has to say about it all then," she smiles briefly. Turning to whisper something in his ear again, "This is all a plot to keep me around for the next movie night isn't it?" she teases, but clear from even her tone she isn't serious.

He laughed warmly and smiled, “Honestly it’s the right thing to do, but if I benefit from it, well double win for me. But really House Lanar deserves a chance to be a part of Alderaan once again.”

[Riss]

"Double win for you," she chuckles warmly in turn, leaning in and planting a kiss on the side of his cheek nearer the back of his jaw. "You're sweet. Almost too sweet," she chuckles again with that same warmth, a slight shake of her head. "Don't stop though," she adds as she shifts back to simply resting her head on her arm, on his shoulder.

"House Lanar deserving to be part of Alderaan once again is a new one though, haven't heard that before. Only other person saying anything like that is my brother running around claiming we're back cause.. it probably makes him feel a bit bigger. Love the idiot," she says, laughing briefly with a different kind of warmth to it.

[Dapper Dog]

"Well what do you think? It is your house and legacy," he asked.

[Riss]

"Y-yea.." she says, furrowing her brow a bit as she sits with the thought for a bit. Ten seconds, maybe a few more, she sits with the thought before she speaks up again, "I'm not sure. Maybe,I might like the idea. Ask me that a week ago and I'd laugh in your face, never wanting to be back here but.." she shakes her head. "Something with really being back here, figuring it all out again. It's strange. I'm good at it. Guess I never really got to see what it was like being an adult back here, back home. Last I was here my father was still trying to figure out a way to use me and the rest of us to further Lanar without all that much consideration for what we wanted to do or be."

"Harsh, old style kinda guy," she says, a soft distant laugh. Shaking her head she comes back into it, "But, being in control of myself here? Home has.. it's had something of an affect on me. I don't dislike it. Might even be able to make something out of it."

"Might even be good for me," she chuckles.

[Yulastranza Ulgo]

Yulastranza said, "Well nobility is one part freedom and another part duty, there are things that must be done to ensure longevity and prosperity for anyone's House."

"Sacrifices must be made."

[Riss]

"Sacrifice things just wandering the galaxy on your own in a ship with no one port to call home," she suggests with a brief smile, a shrug of her shoulders. Turning to face Yulastranza the top of her head brushes up against the side of Bryson's. Brow furrowing a bit as she focuses, "But.. let's say I'm walking into this blind. What kind of sacrifices are you thinking of?"

[Yulastranza Ulgo]

“Marrying the right people, children being groomed for specific roles to aid the House. Making allies with those you may find detestable… there are many. Politics will be a daily concern,” she said honestly.

“On top of running your holdings.”

[Riss]

"All a lot of things to consider.. yea," she says, brow furrowed slightly. Blowing hot air out between her lips, "Some a little more daunting than others," she chuckles, brow settling, smile rising. Leaning her head up a bit more as she says, "Politics can be managed. That's easy enough, I'm.. I'm good with people. Making allies with those I find detestable? That I could do too. After all, I met with the Duke-Consort Zeno Thul today, all to try and keep my brother out of trouble the best I can. Family's.. important. More than it's been to me in the past."

A shake of her head, "But I'm not rushing into the decision. Not even sure what I'd have to work with."

[Dapper Dog]

"Take your time," Bryson added.

[Riss]

"I will," she says, looking to him with a brief and warm smile. "Still.. talking to the Major tomorrow seems like a good way to start figuring my head out. Knowing what I'd be having to work with.. rebuilding a house practically from nothing," she chuckles, shaking her head. "And that's if.. well, if things end up working out with the prince. Bo's a bit too much like I used to be, he wouldn't manage a House on his own. Neas.. was practically being groomed for it," she shrugs, "not sure what he's up to now though. Just that he's at university, probably."

"But yea, taking my time," she says, and gives another kiss to his cheek in the same place as before. Then a furrow of her brow as she thinks a moment, "Wait.. you're an information guy, right? And maybe.." she looks over to Yulastranza. "Maybe you might have heard anything yourself?"

"Bo told me Neas is at university. Mom and dad are gone but.. the others. Since it's kinda on topic," she says, a slight chuckle, "would any of you know what happened to the rest of my family? My sisters. Older sister Hir, younger Meiss? So, Hir Lanar, and Meiss Lanar."

[Dapper Dog]

"I couldn't say off the top of my head but I could look into it for you?" he offered.

[Riss]

"Please do," she says, that warmth present and then gives yet another quick kiss to the cheek.

[Yulastranza Ulgo]

Yulastranza chuckled and said, "You are an odd but amusing woman, Lady Lanar... Riss, whatever you wish to be called."

[Riss]

"I'll take that as a compliment," she laughs briefly. "Lived two different lives. First half a noble, second half a scoundrel with questionable morals. As.. I've talked about with someone very recently, putting those two together makes me into something that's not quite one or the other but is still both, mm? And Riss, Riss is fine," she says with a brief smile, given the good mood.

[Yulastranza Ulgo]

"I have known my share of scoundrels and misfits, good lot, lost of freedom. I envy that at times," Yulastranza responded.

[Riss]

"Speaking from the experience it's enviable," she says, a brief chuckle as she shakes her had. Tone getting a little more sincere rather than humorous, "It's taught me a lot being out in the galaxy, finding my own way. I've learned things that I would never have learned otherwise. But.. there's costs too. One's I've paid, and others I hope never to," she adds with a brief placating smile.

"Options I have in front of me, being back home. Of the.. three big ones, I'm pretty fond of the freedom with winding up back in the galaxy, having done my part back here where I can. If I wind up in any of the other two.. I'd definitely miss that freedom, I think."
