"The House of Lords?" Bran asks, to make sure he's answering the right question. "The House of Lords is one chamber of our parliament, which is an elected body that helps the queen govern Alderaan. Many voices are represented there, giving the queen more of a sense of the will of the people than she might have on her own. I take the responsibility very seriously and I know others do as well."

"The ADF generally has good policies, good systems," Bran is happy to agree, "but no organization is perfect. And rapid expansion to meet the need during the invasion, coupled with the impacts of the invasion in various regions of the planet..." Bran shrugs thoughtfully. "I had a professor, back when I was an officer cadet, who taught that 'It takes a lot of work to make something look easy.' I think that's pretty wise. And I think it takes more work, the larger and more diverse an organization is. That's why I always talk about this recovery as a broad, team effort. One or two people can't do it alone." Bran pauses and gives the Ithorian an embarrassed smile. "My apologies, ma'am. Apparently even in the presence of great talent, all I can talk about is politics." He bows his head in apology.

"All the credit goes to generations of Alderaanians doing right by the people and building a world where we have so much to be proud of. But pride or accolades shouldn't discourage us trying to do even better. And, as I said, some of what we need to work on is in hearts and minds. A year-long invasion and war to save our homes -- there are things yet for us to work on. It is not simply combat veterans who experienced this war, for example. Every Alderaanian was affected, and..." He stops. "Haha, I'm sorry. This topic... Perhaps I can just say, 'I don't want anyone - the nobles in particular - to think our work recovering from the invasion is over. We've got more to do, and I'm going to make sure it gets done.'" He smiles, trying to stop himself carrying on further about something that he knows is a passion.

"I don't know, whatever House Panteer and the Crown needs of me," she said honestly.

"I was hoping I would get to see you fly again." he smiled. "It should be an exciting race."

"We will do our best to live up to our reputation, Galen. When it comes to the race, we take no prisoners," she joked.

"I expect no less." he nodded. Galen glanced back at the princess, before adding, "But, I don't surrender easily."

Bran smiles and then bows his head to cover a bit of embarrassment. "Thank you. You're very kind. Hopefully my rambling is seen as endearing by others as well," he says, glancing toward the queen and princess. "I doubt that discussing the intricacies of veterans' access to mental health care is going to sound more appealing than my colleagues' aspirations," he says, nodding toward the other men and then shaking his head. "But, I've got to work on what needs doing, and just hope the princess wants to join me." He shrugs and then gives the Ithorian a tired smile.
