Kat was my first Jedi to play in one of these PbPs and I greatly enjoyed the experience! :) It's an interesting time to be a Jedi with a lot of stuff happening to the Order and the Galaxy.

Unknown if Kat will be reprised for Hoth, we'll see as we roll closer to the game.

For the time being, I'll answer any questions you might have. :D

Fellow blonde Noble Jedi!

Glad to see Protector in action! While originally I found it a bit lackluster..it's a pretty awesome spec looking it over again!

Blonde Alderaanian noble jedi unite!

Protector has been on my to-play list for a long time. I just really like a lot of what it has to offer.

Stupid Sexy Gaul ran away from my Circle of Shelter and got himself shot though.

Thanks for being up for speaking with Zeno. He really appreciated someone from the order having a simple conversation. I don't know what her final opinion of him is. But I totally love his new view on the force being "whatever" and I want to get as many people on board as possible!

Will you join the Zeno order? Where all we do is figure out how to use the force and let people decide on their morals all on their own? :D

I liked the scenes between them.

Kat didn't like Zeno to start with. Thul, Imperial, Sith... and she wasn't really feeling it the first time they spoke either, but she had to remind herself that everyone deserved a chance to prove themselves to be better than what impressions might be (and yes, her fellow padawan under Master Syo was a Sith Pureblood who escaped the Sith Empire, so she did have a direct experience with dealing with someone from that kind of background).

What mostly turned it around for her was the lockdown on the Thuls, and Kat putting two and two together on why it happened. As well as her encounter with Ziandra too making her believe that Ziandra wouldn't jeopardize her kids and house on an attempted strike against the Panteers. The visit to Zeno and the kids helped drive that point home, and no matter what her personal opinion on Zeno was, his kids didn't deserve to get locked up - hence showing up with stuff from the festival grounds for them. :D

And no, Kat won't be joining the Zeno Order. ;) She has her own plans for Force Users on Alderaan. Can chat in PM if you like. :)

Oooo, Zayne is planning to stay for awhile on Alderaan too. Rebuilding with minimal or no being a Jedi Assassin, just being Jedi.

I enjoyed meeting Kat. I'm guessing you maybe knew I wasn't super sure how to play Zayne in our thread. Then Baesal insinuation... I was rolling laughing at that. Zayne wouldn't be to that with anybody especially when he's got a job to do. He's very focused on work. Nice to have someone I get along with being in the Jedi and an ally house too. :D

I have no idea what that insinuation was about, and it frankly made me uncomfortable, in and out of character.

Kat would've liked more scenes with Zayne, as he was a fellow Alderaanian Jedi (like Aly!), and she trusted him to understand the nuances of the situation on Alderaan. :) I'm gld you enjoyed Kat! <3

Kat! I guess Aurilie only had that quick chat with her at the shooting range but I had a feeling the two could get along more with more scenes, especially having similar sentiments (I feel at least). :)

For the uninitiated, what are the differences between playing a Sith and Jedi you've found, both as an experience and mechanically?

Yeah I wish we had more scenes too! :D Kat liked what she saw of Aurilie.

And that's a very good question, which is why I had to take some time to think about this (hence why I didn't answer this right away  ).

Mechanically I wouldn't say there is too much difference (apart from using Dark Side as a Sith). Jedi and Sith aren't that restricted build-wise to what they can be, though personally I feel like some work better for Sith (Aggressor, Executioner for example) and some work better for Jedi (Protector and Healer) simply because of some flavours and vibes with certain specs.

As an experience I would say it was very different! As a Sith, I cared a lot less about upsetting folks IC, and did a lot more "might makes right" and "this lightsaber means I'm in charge and you do what I say". As a Jedi, it was a lot more being respectful of other people and being aware of others and your own place in the galaxy. Sith and Jedi both have a great deal of privilege in their societies, but whereas Sith take advantage of that as much as they can for the sake of power, a Jedi acts with more caution to not take that privilege for granted. Jedi are allowed a lot of freedoms and leeway in the Republic and the galaxy because people respect them and think they are wise, but that privilege can be lost if you're insulting people and trampling over local customs and laws.

So playing Kat, I felt much more aware of thinking how her actions would affect others, and how that would reflect on the Jedi Order. My Sith character by comparison cared a lot less about that.

*takes notes* I see, thank you for the comparisons! :)
