[Day 7 - Late Evening] Strictly Ballroom

[Cynella Andrim]

"Ah, but always remember that pride cometh before the fall," she said, then blinked. "I think that's how the saying goes, at least. Basically, I think it's best to keep an eye on what's important, hm? I certainly don't think this is like a hunt!" She joined in giggling, having quite fun teasing Aurilie on her antics.

"Oh? I saw much of him myself. Did you ever get a chance to speak with Captain Alderaan then? Or should I say Major Organa at this point." Cynella pursed her lips. "I imagine I'll be seeing much of them in the future if I take up a more permanent residence here."

The change in dance didn't very much phase her, mainly because her mind was preoccupied elsewhere. To be close again, though, did evoke a smile that again couldn't be seen by the Prince of Joral. "Ah! I can't say that's exactly a Kuati thing but I think there are many stories about such relationships in Republic military stories. Like, ah, the aforementioned Captain Alderaan and his beautiful wife. Though they might have gone to different warzones and the like, they always remained in each other's hearts."

[Aurilie Alde]

"I am reminded of your wise counsel, Lady Cynella." She let out a happy sigh, perhaps for dramatic effect. "We've already gotten our victory with a pleasant evening, I will admit. At the very least, I promise to be careful. Hopefully, you won't find me entirely incorrigible in that regard."

She took a step to the side and would transition held hands with her partner. In the exchange, she would come face to face with Cynella in seemingly a moment of hesitation for tension before bringing her close again. "...Unfortunately, I admit that the idea had slipped from my thoughts as I've had no shortages of opportunity. At this point, it might even take a formal meeting or perhaps the charming lady from House Andrim could introduce us?"

There might have been a trademark wink at that proposal that she didn't see.

Aurilie would take a step back and begin to turn her with both their hands up, stopping momentarily so that she could stand close behind her with one hand resting at her side. "Ah, I suppose the tale prevails even today with a modern retelling. I didn't know that Captain Alderaan was also a representative of enduring romance but it seems appropriate, all things considered." With that, she continued turning Cynella while she circled around her partner.

"Oh? Is there some other time you'd possibly have your pride so ruthlessly wounded?" Cynella asked with a dramatic flair of her arms. "I don't want nor need for you to change so much for my sake. As I'd eluded to before, sometimes a balance is good. I've been told before that I let go rather easily."

Face-to-face, Cynella could only laugh at the fate. "Yes, I suppose I'll have to arrange for an auspicious meeting. Perhaps dinner between the four of us is in order."

Her cheeks started to burn a bit red. "Ah, you know, that's mostly my imagination going wild. It's not that popular of a topic on the Holonet... I think a lot of fans still hope that he's single!"

[Aurilie Alde]

"Well...I think going after a plushie is probably the least of it. I'm hardly moving mountains and walking into certain doom, it's just merely some time I have to devote on the side to settle a score and right a wrong, my lady." She smiled rather winsomely at that, feeling very confident.

"Dinner would be lovely, yes. The Republic's darling couple and..." She smiled sheepishly as she trailed off, looking off as she found the words and smiled back at her. "Well, us, I suppose."

Them 'couple' was too forward of an assumption at the present moment, after all.

"Admittedly, I actually thought Captain Alderaan was single for a long time," she mused curiously before she finished turning Cynella and brought them back together. With her hand carefully on the small of her back, she would carefully dip her dance partner back with her foot forward.

"Righting wrongs. Goodness, at this rate, I'd suggest passing some sort of law against mischievous carnies." Cynella smirked. "Maybe you ought to run for parliament for that honor. Then nobody shall dare cross you again!"

She nodded. "Oh it can still be a date. Who knows when it'll be, and what will come of it, but I'm sure those two lovebirds would be happy to see us together in at least some romantic capacity."

With the dip, Cynella held out one of her arms for a dramatic display. "Oh? Perhaps you were hoping he'd choose you sometime, hm? He did marry an Alde, after all."

[Aurilie Alde]

Aurilie found herself smirking back, perhaps a touch playfully. "As much as I'd like to pass such a law, I understand that some of them are seeking to make a living for themselves and it would be unfair to take their livelihood. Perhaps, this one just had the misfortune of slightly someone who I do find pleasant and I truly believe won fair and scare. Perhaps I could consider more of a fairness bill to legislate or something."

She smiled more at the idea and nodded once in agreement. "Of course, a date! I suppose it's only fair that I find some way to repay the morale boost. If our presence could do that, it could be the least I could do."

Aurilie found herself blushing at the idea before she brought her back up and perhaps hid that by bringing Cynella close again so that they could be nearly cheek to cheek to continue their dance. "Well...I wouldn't go that far. That said, it would be a very interesting life and I might have thought about it, for only a moment. I would have to reconsider active service again at the very least."

"Ah, yes. I suppose, in the end, this is another form of trickle-down economics." Such a thing was frequently taught, at least in House Andrim. How else could income disparity between nobility and commoners be justified? "This reminds me of that soup kitchen thing. Just another way to give back to the people that we lead, yes?"

She raised a brow. "I don't think either of them care for repayment, so to speak. But I think they'd enjoy our company nonetheless!"

Fortunately for the dear Prince of Joral, Cynella was none-the-wiser of any embarrassment. "Active service? Were you in the military at some point yourself? Or do you mean something else entirely?"

[Aurilie Alde]

"Well...perhaps I should consider more of a carnie subsidy fund to back this fairness bill proposal," she added after some thought, recalling her conversation with Zeno. This was the absolute least of it but she supposed it was a start in helping the less fortunate. "Reward them upfront for their cooperation and ensure that they have no need to resort to tiny technicalities to make a living."

"Only briefly," she admitted truthfully without embellishment as she brought Cynella to another twirl and stood away to give her more liberal space.

Royalty and nobles often liked to pad their list of achievements with military service, touting that they've stood alongside generals. While true in some regard, sharing a drink is hardly equal to having the same credentials as a general. Aurilie didn't see the need to pretend to be something she wasn't. "I did attend the Royal Officer Academy of Alderaan some years ago, like most princes, with perhaps a short tour as my experience."

[Cynella Andrim]

"There are many ways to approach it, hm?" she mused. "Well, perhaps too much fairness would ruin the spirit of it. After all, you were so enthralled by the prospect of winning precisely because it'd be so challenging, yes?"

She raised a brow. "Oh? Military training isn't so common on Kuat. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised by the tradition, though." She kicked up her legs one by one, the bottom half going parallel to the floor. "Perhaps all that marching taught you how to follow these steps, hm?"

[Aurilie Alde]

Aurilie smile faintly, probably now feeling a smidge silly about what must look like a vendetta against a carnie in some aspect. "Yes, the challenge. I was expecting it to be easy and all good things should be earned. Despite their tricks, you've done so impressively well against them and I just found myself a bit crestfallen by the outcome. Well, enough about the carnies, I think things will right themselves somehow."

Speaking of impressive, Aurilie would support Cynella as she did the move with flair and would bring her for a twirl around her before bringing her back. She let out a chortle and smirked. "I get the feeling that marching has very little to do with tango. I'd chalk it up more to my waltz experience and of course, much inspiration from your enthralling personality."

[Cynella Andrim]

"Oh. Well, perhaps what I accomplished was just a stroke of good luck," Cynella said with a faint blush. "We'll always be more apt for different things though, won't we? Like our different forms of dance, perhaps."

The twirl was a nice touch, evident by Cynella's giggle. "Yes, yes, I only jest. Your talents must go far and wide, I'm sure. I do wonder if you could lift me up on a moment's notice. Didn't want to surprise you with that move."

[Aurilie Alde]

"Luck? Really? You may call it a bias but I'm rather inclined to believe that you might be more talents than you appear to be." She smirked. "I suppose your efforts at the fair just made it look so easy."

Right, knees and not back. Aurilie thought to herself as she was forewarned with a little more than just a moment at least.

"I can most certainly accommodate, my lady," she said confidently with a smile. While she wasn't as well-sculpted as Cynella, she would indeed do her best to do when the moment came to lift her in their tango.

"Ah, it seems we're at an impasse between my humility and your desire to praise me," Cynella said with a firm wink. "Who knows if I'd be able to replicate it, really, so I suppose this requires further testing."

Cynella nodded, lifting up one leg over to her. With a glance, she signaled for her dance partner to grab onto it. "Now drag me back, across the dance floor. And at the end, I'll jump up and you'll pivot around. Again, make sure you have a solid base, hm?"

[Aurilie Alde]

"Well, I'm not advocating going back to the fair, especially if you'd rather not." She chuckled. However, it seemed that Aurilie would indeed go back later to win the plushie ewok.

"Of course." Aurilie did some quick study to know that these sorts of moves would be involved, even if she had little practice to pull them off. There were admittedly few similarities to waltz here she could draw from in their dance, so the guidance was appreciated. She would grab her leg and take her back across the dance floor as they were holding on to each other. Once they got near the edge of the dance floor, Aurilie would keep her footing stead ad pivoted around as Cynella planned.

"I'd rather not open up the opportunity to embarrass myself," Cynella said, leaving the matter at that. She'd gone enough times and she'd prefer to do something else with the dear Prince of Joral.

Well, besides meeting up after an attempted coup, but some things can't be avoided.

"Good, good," Cynella said, "Add a little more, what's the word, pizazz to it though! You're not in your full tuxedo anymore, you know. Maybe we ought to loosen up more buttons so you get the hint, hm?" She winked and then leaped up, tightening her own core so she could stay midair during the rotation.

[Aurilie Alde]

"You know, I can't say I envision this evening involving talk of loosening my actual tuxedo buttons," she said as a tease before tittering with a laugh.

Aurilie's hand on her back adjusted to her side as she lifted her up by her leg at the leap, swinging Cynella around her body so that they could meet again face to face if possible. "Something I wouldn't mind practicing more of," she chuckled.

"Oh I enjoy surprises in life. Otherwise, things get a little bit too routine, don't they?" Cynella grinned at the laughter, maintaining a more playful demeanor.

Though she did hang on a little tight during their spin. "Yes, I think we do need to practice more," she said, hoping that her own anxiousness hadn't gotten around. Falling flat on her butt was, after all, not a pleasant outcome. "I must say, your technique is much better than mine when it comes to waltzing though."

Aurilie chuckled at the compliment and nodded soundly as they continued dancing. "I would hope that my years of laborious schooling have something to show for when it comes to my waltz form. I wouldn't mind sharing more of my experience with you, it would be the least I could do after the patience and guidance you've shown me for my first tango. Admittedly, it is perhaps an excuse to just spend more time with you."
