"Sounds like you didn't need me all that much," she says, flashing a grin toward Niall. Content enough to relax back at that moment she does look to the kid, "But hey. If you wanna feel what it's like in a ship, just ask. Might help you decide for or against it, mm?" she offers still, leaving it on the table. "Anytime you want.. so long as I'm around."

Niall flashed a quick smile back towards Riss. "Well. Sounds like we have a plan, then. I'll see about it. In the meantime, we can enjoy brunch."

He looked at the kid, eyebrows going up. "Unless there's anything else on your mind?"

"Oh. That." Still smiling, Niall shook his head. "Well, actually, the nickname itself was started by a Sith, I believe. But that doesn't answer the why, exactly."

He set down his teacup. "When I first joined the service, I was very enthusiastic, and very photogenic. Both Alderaan and the Republic used my likeness in recruiting materials. A dashing young officer..." Grinning briefly, Niall shook his head again. "I was happy to help, even if it did feel a little silly sometimes. I was very patriotic, after all. I suppose that hasn't changed."

He sighed. "But also... I love Alderaan very much. As an Organa, and as an officer in the Republic military, I've always been very aware of myself as a representative of both. I think there's something about that..." After a moment, Niall shrugged, smiling again. "I hope that answers your question well enough. In truth, it's not entirely obvious to me."
