[D1 LM] Brunch of the Champions of the Noble People of the Order of the Jedi on the Planet of Alderaan

''Hum'' she turned to the newcomer ''Hello?''

Meanwhile, she waved at Breela, indicating to a tray of fish if she was interested.

Wiping her hands, Kat was turning to speak further with Layne, but the new arrival made her stop, as she waited for some form of introduction.

"Knight Breela Po, well 'retired' Knight Breela Po, sorry I'm late and for interrupting. Please continue. I'll catch up."

She awkwardly shuffles over to the others while the conversation turns serious. The fish ended up being surprisingly delicious.

Kat did have her datapad to send the nescessary information on official feuds to Layne, if she needed it. As for who would look after Tyche... Kat wasn't volunteering for the task, given her own private matters these days.

"Yeah... could you forward that to me as well? Knowing my luck I'll probably need it at some point."

From what I've been told, they don't really hold much understanding of us who are not part of their hivemind.

"Hmmm, I'll be glad to help with the Killik's. The implications are intriguing: On the one hand they could be overriding the will of those who interfere. On the other it could simply be empathy that drives others to join the hive. In the case of the former it's better to know your enemy. As for the latter, imagine them as your friend and what worlds of progress open up for Alderaan."

In Rist colors, Zayne smiled and said, "Hello. Sorry, I'm late. House stuff... Silly welcome home things."

"Hi there!" Breela said cheerfully. "Come join us."

Tethys nods to greet Zayne and Breela.

"We have enough crisis as it is to add the killiks," Tarlia agreed, "Prevent politics on Alderaan from spiraling out of control being the foremost. Followed by...and partly in line with disrupting whatever influence the Sith have on the planet. And now possibly protecting at least one padawan from injury for actions committed nearly a decade ago it sounds like."

"I suppose one of us will have to approach this Zeno directly and see what can be gleaned from speaking to him. Besides Knight Alysele, do we have any other ways into Thul through diplomacy?"

"What about other members of House Thul? We'll have to pull at the center of the knot eventually, but it's not the only place to start. Relatives, retainers, Lady Thul's family?" She tilts her head a little, thinking.

"Does Thul have any known interest in this conflict with the Killiks? If some of you are already determined to act there, we must make sure of how that fits within the larger flow of events. There are no coincidences, only the Force."

[Zayne Rist]

"Hi there!" Breela said cheerfully. "Come join us."

"Thank you. Who would have thought there would be strings attached to being given an heirloom on this planet..." Zayne looked around the area for a minute. "But, I am grateful for the armor."

" Killiks talk, huh. Battling the Sith one day, bugs the next."

They had set charges and they escaped with a shuttle during the issuing explosion. The poor fool did not survive them.''

She smirked, "Not sure which is worse." Then patted the adjacent chair.

"I hadn't heard that. I imagine surveillance footage offered no clues either?" She poured herself some tea.

Layne's gaze, quite naturally, lingered on Zayne. He had not introduced himself by name, but he mentioned he was doing house business, and he was wearing the same colors as the woman who had declared a vendetta on her...

...so naturally she would stare at him. And stare. Until *someone* would speak up. Not her though. She wasn't going to be the one to redirect the conversation to her little problem again. Her focus did make her only vaguely aware of the rest of the conversation happening. Something about a thief.

"One must of course take the path the Force draws them down but..." Tarlia clasped her hands in front, "One must also be mindful of the larger picture. Are we sure the Killiks are enough of a threat to warrant attention when the planet could very will descend into secession from the Republic or worse all out civil war?" She nodded to Tethys in agreement with her statements.

"I think ultimately preventing Alderaan from descending into violence, whether through its own hand or at the Sith's, must be our highest priority." She takes in a breath and let's out a sigh. "...so then what is the best chance of that? Again we can but offer advice and seek to reveal falsehoods, but there is still respect for the Order on Alderaan correct? Even if the Sith are working to erode that respect. So then...what form should our advice take. Or...well to be more blunt how much meddling in planetary politics should we be considering. I believe part of this Festival will see the next claimants to the Throne take a spouse."

[Breela Po]

Breela was always a firm believer that the Force will guide you if you simply shut off your brain. If it feels right, chances are it is right. "The order should not blindly choose a side. Our place is with the people we can help, the things we can understand, the problems we can solve. Seek truth, and the force will guide us to an answer."

[Dapper Dog]

Daz offered his two creds to Zayne, “So wait you’re a Rist and the members of House Rist want Layne Bringer of Sisterly Pain dead, I just made that up, think it will stick? Never mind. Zayne, maybe you can be the bridge to help resolve this situation! And like that Daz fixed the problem.”

“Not saying I am brilliant, but I am not, not saying that.”

"I am a Jedi, not an assassin for hire. I fought for all of Alderaan during the battle here. I am an arbiter and only use violence to defend myself." Zayne said calming, but with anger. "I know nothing about she sister, I have been gone for many years before the battle here."

He looked at the Jedi here. "Oh, please excuse me manners, I am Zayne Rist. I was given an heirloom armer of my house, whichis why I'm wearing this garb."

[Dapper Dog]

"I am a Jedi, not an assassin for hire. I fought for all of Alderaan during the battle here. I am an arbiter and only use violence to defend myself." Zayne said calming, but with anger. "I know nothing about she sister, I have been gone for many years before the battle here."

He looked at the Jedi here. "Oh, please excuse me manners, I am Zayne Rist. I was given an heirloom armer of my house, whichis why I'm wearing this garb."

"Exactly, you are a perfect person to help Layne," he responded.

Layne shifted a little as her issue was again monopolizing the conversation. At least Daz meant well.

"...couldn't hurt, anyway," she said, barely audible as she looked off to the side.

"Alright. I will help Layne. I don't know how much help I could be. I haven't been around grounds of Rist compound all that much yet." He looked at Daz and Layne.

I missed the point of Daz's first post when Zayne came in... I thought Daz was putting off a contract on Layne or something, not asking for help, the first time I read it.

"Whizz, Team Jedi is back in the game. So... would it be against operational security for me to get a selfie with the whole team?" he added with a cheesy grin.

[Layne Hoshin]

"We can discuss the details on my ship, later," she said with a nod toward Zayne, before looking at Daz with a shrug, then around to the others.

"I am not in charge of operational security here."

Kat didn't stumble over her words by being perplexed, but she blinked as she considered the request from Daz. "I... don't think it is a problem? Unless anyone is here on a secret mission?"

She looked to the other knights, unsure of all this talk of subscribers, whizz, and selfies. Sometimes she was really disconnected to the youth outside the Order and the fads they got up to.

Remembering Tarlia's words, she looked to her fellow knight. "Yes, the Jedi have a long relationship with Alderaan, but the Sith and House Thul seem to be doing theirs to undermine it. I think perhaps yourself, and Knight Tethys might be good choices to approach the royal twins at least, in an attempt to see what falsehoods the Sith might have been feeding to them, and also correct their misconceptions. As you two are not Alderaanians like myself and Knight Alysele or Knight Zayne, and don't have... past history, like Knight Layne," the most diplomatic way she could phrase it, "you would also not have any biases that they would suspect of Organa, Rist, or Ulgo."

A shrug in Daz's direction indicates she has no problem being in his picture, if it's important to him.

It was a fair question. As much as she wanted to say she's still with the order, she couldn't. She had a cool relationship with Grand Master Shan, and if not for Masters Xen and Zym wouldn't even still be in the order. "Free to come back any time, but you're right. I often forget that I am not 'active' as it were. Nor could I, or should I speak for the order."

She made a mental note to refrain from mentioning the order around anyone other than fellow Jedi. I'm simply a warrior, and nothing more. The realization was sobering.

Breela was really feeling her age with each word that kid said.

"....sure?" She replied uncertainly to Daz.

"Well, seems like we have a plan. I'll also see about approaching Beniko, from the Empire. We have some history of working together, I'll see if I can find something out of their intentions."

She smiled uncertainly. That felt like it was an age ago.

"Okay everyone bunch up and I will have Selfie-3000, I named him, patented, take the picture... once everyone is in say Bantha Milk!"

He directs the droid to get in position and motioned for all the Jedi to squeeze in for a great selfie! He grinned, "This is gonna be whizz!"
