[D0, Evening] An Important Part of This Complete Breakfast

Ashlin entered the room where breakfast was being served, still dressed in a nightgown and robe. They were fine clothes, cream-colored and silky as they brushed the floor while she walked, ones she hadn't worn since she left for college and then shipped off to the military. She supposed she was lucky they still fit.

Stifling a yawn, she opened a file on her datapad, an engineering journal she'd stayed up too late reading the night before. It would be something she wouldn't be able to afford to do too much during the festival, she suspected. Diplomats to meet, energy to conserve to try and be poised and genteel and generally try to be a House Organa Noble instead of the awkward space- and ship-obsessed weirdo her parents were saddled with instead.

Duke Charles Remnont Organa, not to be confused with Duke Rhys Organa the more serious one, was a handsome older man even in his many years. House Organa had several main lines and being a large family meant they split the affairs up but ultimately they all worked well together or that was the impression they gave to those outside the House.

He finally looked up from his datapad and said, “I wish I could join you at the Spring Palace but my duties here will keep me completely tied up, you know I have some great memories there. That was where your mother and I first kissed, have I told you the story?”

It was a common story he loved to tell.

She laughed gently at that and set aside her own datapad, leaning one elbow on the table and resting her chin on her hand. "Oh, once or twice. I don't mind hearing it again... It'd be nice to have that kind of experience someday."

Despite being 24, she had been so wrapped up in work or interest, personal relationships had fallen to the wayside a little bit.

Which brought about a long meandering but romantic story of chance meetings, a rival, four thaxxian goats, getting lost in the rain in the hedge maze, a heroic rescue, a goat kiss, and then a true romantic kiss by the statue and then happily ever after.

By the end he was beaming with pride and said, “And then the rest was beautiful. You’ll experience that one day.”

"How did the goats even get in there, though?" She wondered out loud as breakfast was presented. "... I'm honestly a little worried about the festival. I'm not Rhian, and things are... a little tense."

He laughed and waved off the comment about the goats before getting more serious and asking, "Well what is troubling you? It's a festival, a time for joy."

"The tension around the Panteers... The fact that other people are going to try and take advantage of the situation. I mean, it's not good to stay idle, but I'm not... good at people. They're weird and don't make sense. And it's not like I can just sit back and go..." She leans back, looks bored, and mimes sipping wine, "'Mm, yes... That looks so tough for you.'"

"All we ask is that you do what you can, don't try to carry all the burdens. If there is a way you can help then do that as best you can," he offered.

She nodded firmly, trying to take heart from it. "I'll do my best... And hey, if they end up needing something built or fixed, they're set," she added with a light laugh.

"Maybe offer to build them something, or see if they have need of your diverse skills," he said warmly.

She nodded thoughtfully. "That's a good approach..."
