[D4LM] Where Do You See Yourself in Five Years?

This was not the sort of meeting one had in an office. Instead, Niall had a table set up on the balcony overlooking the garden with a pleasant brunch. Tea, light food, a few pastries. There were, after all, benefits to being an Organa.

Seated, he waited for his various guests to arrive. This time, bonus, the sliding door was very large.

"Ah! A wonderful setting Captain-Major! Oh and the tea was an inspired choice. How is the festival treating you?"
Sando follows behind and nods politely to Niall before pulling aside two chairs to make space for Keyhote.

Vaki was here looking nervous.

Keyhote hovers through with barely a scrape or groan
"Ah! A wonderful setting Captain-Major! Oh and the tea was an inspired choice. How is the festival treating you?"
Sando follows behind and nods politely to Niall before pulling aside two chairs to make space for Keyhote.

"Quite well, actually, Ser Keyhote." Niall said, smiling. He'd prepared; there was a Hutt-sized tea receptacle, likely repurposed from some sort of service container. "And yourself? How goes your quest?"

Vaki was here looking nervous.

Niall smiled reassuringly at the young man, the same way he would a junior soldier under his command; a very calming sort of smile. "Scone for your thoughts?" Niall said, offering a plate.

"Quite well, actually, Ser Keyhote." Niall said, smiling. He'd prepared; there was a Hutt-sized tea receptacle, likely repurposed from some sort of service container. "And yourself? How goes your quest?"

"Marvelous! I have seen the spark of love kindle and spread from bosom to bosom! One dark knight in particular is an interesting fellow, a man's who lost all he loved and so turned to only love duty. And I have tested my might on both the battlefield and the huttball court!"

Keyhote nods encouragingly at Vaki, one should never scorn a scone.

[Riss]

Vaki was here looking nervous.

Riss was there too, and nervous as the kid was she comes up behind him and places both hands down on either shoulder. Little reassuring brushes on the back-side of his shoulder without much thought to the action, leaning in a little she speaks softly, "Say the word, I'll get you outta here. But- everyone's a friend, mmm?" she smiles though being behind him Vaki wouldn't quite see it. Passing her gaze up toward Niall instead, giving a wink.

"Just ain't ever been around anything so nice, it's a little weird," he said honestly.

"Indeed. I saw that. Good show." Niall nodded. But then he frowned, considering the other words. "Dark knight? Battlefield? What have you been up to?"

Back to smiling again, Niall gave a casual shrug. "As with all changes, one gets used to it. You'll do fine, I'm sure."

He quietly sipped tea. "Would you tell me some more about your life before this? The little details, I mean. What was your life like, day to day?"

[Riss]

Resting her hands back she slips away for a moment and finds herself a seat. Kicking her feet up, hands behind the back of her head, she lounges a bit and merely relaxes.

[Dapper Dog]

Vaki replied, “Didn’t have much money, kind of just got by doing whatever I could. Begging, stealing, or tricking people to get mines. But I guess I don’t have to do that no mores. Just weird now, never had a formal educations, barely know how to read. Just different.”

[Niall Organa]

"No, you don't." Niall said, smiling. "So... is there anything you ever wanted to do? Education is very big on Alderaan. And that doesn't just mean facts. Artistic pursuits..."

Chucking, he spread his hands. "Really, anything. Anything you can think of."

[Desilijic Keyhote]

"Indeed. I saw that. Good show." Niall nodded. But then he frowned, considering the other words. "Dark knight? Battlefield? What have you been up to?"

"No more than you would expect. The Dark Knight proved to be a man of honour and the battlefield was a matter of ecological conservation."
Keyhote daintily takes a scone and dunks it in his giant tea container before consuming it in a single bite.

"Vaki, the captain has proposed some good options, and I understand you are confused. Your life has changed. Perhaps consider now how you should change other lives for the better?"

[Dapper Dog]

"No, you don't." Niall said, smiling. "So... is there anything you ever wanted to do? Education is very big on Alderaan. And that doesn't just mean facts. Artistic pursuits..."

Chucking, he spread his hands. "Really, anything. Anything you can think of."

"Like learning words and them maths? Why would I care about education? I'm rich right?" he said.

[Niall Organa]

"It doesn't have to be words or math. You can be a soldier, or a pilot, or a musician, or an ambassador." Niall said. "But do you remember what we discussed yesterday? About how being an Organa is more responsibility than privilege? Education is part of that, and it is something that almost every Alderaanian does."

Niall took a sip of his tea. "When we spoke yesterday, you seemed interested in that challenge." He said gently.

[Desilijic Keyhote]

"Like learning words and them maths? Why would I care about education? I'm rich right?" he said.

"Well, if you're wealthy people will try to take your money, and if you're uneducated then you will be that much easier a mark." Keyhote added unhelpfully.

[Riss]

Though she didn't look like it as she lounged, Riss was listening intently to what was being said. Ready in her own way to interject if she heard anything that sounded like it was off, or could have been delivered better. So far though, the fact she was almost as seamlessly part of the background as the chair she sat on meant folk were getting a thumbs up from Riss. Considering she usually finds some way that she feels she could do it better, that could probably even be considered a compliment.

"I guess I always wanted to fly a space craft, seemed really freeing," he offered.

"That could be arranged." Niall said, smiling.

He looked over at Riss, eyebrows going up curiously.

He almost didn't need to as she turns on her seat, and faces the whole gang more directly. Leaning forward she rests her forearms across her knees, hands interlocking in front of herself. Broad smile as she suggests, "We could test how much you really like that. I could bring you up sometime.. let you see how it feels? Maybe.. maybe even get your hands on the controls for a little while. Safely though," she says extending one finger as a hard limit there. "Kriff.. we could do it soon as we leave here, if you like," she says, that brightness infecting her tone a little.

"Well sure, but maybe I could attend one of them university places and figure out what else is out there," he added.
