[Niall Organa]

"Mortality..." One eyebrow went up. "You mean the family business? No, nothing like that." Niall shook his head, then frowned. "You say he's not around?" Niall looked at Omondri. "Would you mind taking us back to look? It's rather important."

[Dapper Dog]

“You are fine, Major Organa but Galen Rist was a friend of my father, the Jedi stays here, House orders. Just trying to keep the peace, me friend,” he said warmly.

“Where do you need to go?”

[Layne Hoshin]

"The Jedi," she says, not liking to be ignored, "is here on behalf of the Order and the Republic. *And* the peace."

She gave a look in the direction of Omandri. "We have reason to think he is involved in that thing we were discussing before someone so rudely cut us off."

[Dapper Dog]

“I want no immediate trouble Jedi, but I will not let you pass, House Orders. You killed one of ours, that will never be square,” he responded.

[Omandri Rist]

Omandri watched the exchange and spoke up "Knight Hoshin please, I will take Major Organa here in to search the premise, within reason. He can see Bryson is not on the estate. This is a complicated situation due to your past, I'm sure you can appreciate that." Omandri said calmly looking between the parties present.

[Layne Hoshin]

"Oh, I'm sorry. I should've realized the house of assassins would still be upset that one of their assassins got assassinated."

Layne seemed annoyed at being stonewalled like this.

"Now, I shared sensitive information with you." She looked pointedly at Omandri, before allowing her gaze to pass between both Rist men. "Information that certain members of your house, past and present and I used the plural there on purpose, are involved in a conspiracy against both the Jedi and Republic. A conspiracy that seems as if it manipulated your House into declaring an illegitimate vendetta against me in the interests of this conspiracy, before the leadership of your house realized *part* of what was going on and ended the vendetta. That is what it seemed to me a moment ago, at least. I don't care about how 'complicated' my past makes things. I am here to make sure the *future* doesn't get complicated. And the more we stand around here talking about shit that doesn't matter, the more complicated that future is likely to get."

[Dapper Dog]

Olak does not budge from his position.

[Omandri Rist]

"Do you not trust Major Organa? I may not agree with my sister's order but it is her estate she is allowed to say who can and can't enter. We are not hiding Bryson I give you my word on that, and I am willing to let Major Organa verify that fact. We are not the ones being Unreasonable here Knight Hoshin."

"And yes I too believe there is much important work to be done. My sister believes I am a fool for trusting you but I want to work with you, to deal with this conspiracy. Now we can stand here and posture some more, we can waste time with me giving Major Organa a tour of the estate or we can get to work tracking down leads and the next time I see Bryson I can talk with him." Omandri was calm but firm

[Niall Organa]

"Layne. It's fine." Niall said. "Obey our hosts."

He turned to Omandri. "I have no wish to suggest dishonesty by either you or your House, sir. But we have come this far, and it is an important matter. If you would take me to confirm that he is still gone, I would be grateful."

[Dapper Dog]

Assuming cooler heads prevail, Bryson Rist is indeed not present after about thirty or so minutes of touring the grounds, well the not restricted areas.

[Layne Hoshin]

Layne had been of half a mind to just force the issue anyway. But she did relent in the end. So she stayed behind while Niall went on that tour. Presumably, Omandri stayed behind to continue the conversation with Layne; or otherwise she could speak on their return.

"...It *is* imperative that we speak with him soon. There are things he *must* clear up for us."

If it helped, Olak remained with a contingent of house guardsmen. He's a good whistler.

[Omandri Rist]

Omandri went with Niall on the tour showing him as much of the estate as he could and having a friendly chat about military life, Alderaan and other easy topics.

Upon return when Layne started talking he held up his hands "hey that's fine with me. I think you've made the wrong assumptions here about where I stand. I disagree with my sister basically all the time. I've been going to bat for you since all this began Knight Hoshin. As I said I want to help you. My sister has essentially banned you from the estate but maybe we can go somewhere and talk? We can exchange information and all get on the same page." He said with his usual easy smile.

[Dapper Dog]

Olak shrugged and said, "There's always one in every House, yes, but he's a good man. Even if he butts heads with me Duchess."

[Layne Hoshin]

Layne considered for a moment, looking between them. Naturally, she didn't really trust House Rist. Even the Jedi one had behaved in a suspect manner once or twice. But, this was a better way of going about it then either brooding about it somewhere or going on some kind of massacre to get to the truth.

"Very well," she said, "We can discuss things in greater detail tomorrow."

[Omandri Rist]

Olak shrugged and said, "There's always one in every House, yes, but he's a good man. Even if he butts heads with me Duchess."

Omandri smiled up at the big bear of a man "Well thanks Olak you're pretty great yourself. Also we gotta work out again soon, few sparring partners put me through my paces like you." He said with a casual smile.

Layne considered for a moment, looking between them. Naturally, she didn't really trust House Rist. Even the Jedi one had behaved in a suspect manner once or twice. But, this was a better way of going about it then either brooding about it somewhere or going on some kind of massacre to get to the truth.

"Very well," she said, "We can discuss things in greater detail tomorrow."

He then turned back to Layne and nodded "a place of your choosing, let me know and I'll be there. Well anywhere but here obviously." He said with a small chuckle.

[Niall Organa]

Returning, Niall gave Layne a noncommittal shrug and a smile.

"Thank you, Baron Rist, Lord Omandri." Niall said, acknowledging both of them.

[Layne Hoshin]

"I'm sure we can meet out somewhere in the wilds," she said with a nod. It seemed like that was the thing to do these days when it concerned conversations that shouldn't be listened in to.
