[Day 2 - EA] Lillies at Play

[Galen Sol]

Garth nods and extends a hand to the doctor. "Garth, Garth Ulgo now, though it were Garth Wayne back then. Th' Navy had a med officer there Dr Ormont, lookin' int' similar stuff. D'ya get a look in the Blight durin' yer stay? Not sure if he published anythin' but there might be somethin' out there on the Holonet."

"Unfortunately, I don't think Cole had the opportunity to publish much." Galen had approached the group after spotting them. "It's a shame. The doc was a good man."

[Kellen Rist]

"Seeing as you're in charge of not only yourself but also students, who are bound to be as curious as they are bright, I can see something like that comes as a necessity by circumstance." She nodded a few times with that thought with a small smile. "I could imagine that many of them are looking for the opportunity to make the discovery of a lifetime and doing so without knowing that the discovery has been made some time ago. Unless they consider going through the same hardships are good material for their thesis?"

"Oh, the museum is in very good order. I've had the pleasure to revisit again after several years since my last visit. No doubt, I'm sure discovering new things and being on-site is far better especially being at the source than the comforts of a workshop on Alderaan. As for me, I'd say I'm more of a professional hunter myself."

Kellen nodded. She had the right of it. "Indeed. Everyone thinks they are the first to entertain an idea at some point in their life. Field trips are good for broadening horizons. As long as you don't lose your students to attrition...or poison." He smirked, those who knew of House Rist's reputation often whispered that the Profesdor might get rid of his unwanted students by such means.

"But you sound as though you have an interesting profession yourself! A hunter? Well, perhaps you could tell me a little about that? I enjoy the great outdoors, but my hunting experience is mostly for the sake of self defense in the wilds."

Kellen nodded. She had the right of it. "Indeed. Everyone thinks they are the first to entertain an idea at some point in their life. Field trips are good for broadening horizons. As long as you don't lose your students to attrition...or poison." He smirked, those who knew of House Rist's reputation often whispered that the Profesdor might get rid of his unwanted students by such means.

"But you sound as though you have an interesting profession yourself! A hunter? Well, perhaps you could tell me a little about that? I enjoy the great outdoors, but my hunting experience is mostly for the sake of self defense in the wilds."

"You must be made up of sterner stuff than most people, especially having to endure all of the mishaps along the way, on top of wrangling that many students at once. I don't know if I could ever be cut out for the same profession," she nodded with a faint smile.

She nodded proudly at the chance to talk about her hunts. "Normally, my responsibilities would be to safeguard the region surrounding Mount Joral. There are a lot of predators in the area and it is my responsibility to protect my kingdom from any threats to the life of my people. Admittedly, I do spend a lot of my time also venturing the galaxy and looking for a challenge, to hone my skills and add to the glory of House Alde, of course. My hunts have brought me to Rodia, Hoth, Naboo, Corellia...just to name a few."

"Ah....hadn't heard." Garth gasps in shock, remembering their shared moments on the campaign. "He wer' a good soldier, and a better man,"

"He was transporting an injured prisoner to Coruscant." Galen explained. "We were supposed to meet up there, but I heard the ship was attacked and lost."

[Garth Wayne Ulgo]

"Probably space pirates," Garth proposed, jumping to a conclusion likely light years off target.

"Lost mah birth mother th' same way. Ah'll raise a glass t' the doc tonight."

Turning back to Jameela, he dons his shirt once more. "How'd you find yer time on Bankor? Did'ya get a chance t' visit Flogston islands? Ah hear it's quite the relaxation spot."

Jameela looks stunned at the casual nature of discussing a dead comrade. She does not answer, just blinking considering what she just heard...

"I apologize for interrupting." Galen dipped his head. "There are just a lot of memories walking about."

Seeing Jameela's shock, Garth takes a half step closer. "Y'ever lost someone close t' ya Princess? Ain't never easy but soldiers see a lot o' it, an' while it might seem t' make us cold or flippant of the loss that aint it at all."

"We all have a time though, 'n death is as nat'ral a part of our life as birth is."

The conversation had shifted to talk of someone Omandri had not known so he, like the princess, had been content to just listening. He likewise frowned a little at the mention of the deceased doctor but understood what Garth was saying.

"Yes someone passing is always a tragedy but when you suffer the same tragedy frequently, you don't become numb to it but it lacks the large initial blow one usually receives." He tried to articulate the callous emotions towards death that many soldiers and veterans feel.

His mood had grown understandably somber given the topic but he shifted the mood a little "but while it is natural I don't know if here in such a beautiful garden during a festival of love is the best place to discuss such somber topics."

He had a small smile on his lips as he turned to Jameela "Princess, do you have any studies or expeditions or the like planned for after the festival?"

"Umm... no... yes, maybe, sorry. Sorry for your loss," she managed.

"Princess, I'm sorry." Galen apologized again, but offered a friendly smile. "It seems I keep saying the wrong things around you. To be honest, I'm not very good with people. I spend most of my time in the rainforest on Bankor. I'm just more comfortable when I'm alone."

The hunting trips sounded rather fun. "Fascinating! What does one hunt on Corellia? It doesn't leap out at me as a hunting destination." Kellen was not a fan of the place. Too many shady characters selling artifacts

"Princess, I'm sorry." Galen apologized again, but offered a friendly smile. "It seems I keep saying the wrong things around you. To be honest, I'm not very good with people. I spend most of my time in the rainforest on Bankor. I'm just more comfortable when I'm alone."

"That sounds like the dream," she said honestly. "I am not sure when next I will get a chance to head out of the system. But if you like solitude there are lots of beautiful sites on Alderaan."

"I have already been out in the wilds." his smile broadened. "Alderaan is a remarkable planet."

"Ah hear Aldera is a city 'n the middle of a meteor struck lake? An' the sunrise reflectin' off the white marble is a true beauty t' behold."

[Jameela Panteer]

"Yeah I guess you would," she said with a smile.

"Ah hear Aldera is a city 'n the middle of a meteor struck lake? An' the sunrise reflectin' off the white marble is a true beauty t' behold."

"Joran loves that place, it's wonderful," she said wistfully.

"I'll have to visit it, if I can find it." Galen chuckled.

[Garth Wayne Ulgo]

"It's not too far, as the thranta flies at least. Not sure about on foot." Garth replies, having already plotted out a course for a visit there tomorrow.

"Speaking of which, ah heard we could obtain th' services of such creatures fer travellin' purposes? " Garth asks the leading question to any who might be able to answer.

"Why yes, you are correct, do you know how to ride them?" she asked.
