Ghostbusters (D4, MM Roost)

Delmi and Layne approached the coordinates provided by Xero…

There was something different about Delmi that would be hard to tell from the outside.

Her steps were filled with intent… much more intent than they had when she first arrived. When she came she thought her mother had a good chance of being dead…

Now the woman who had ruined her and her dad’s life was alive for sure… the woman she hated all those years as a child… filled her with interest for the first time in her life. She felt like she wanted to actually know who this person was, not just put a blaster bolt through their eyes…

And so she approached intently towards the Roost…

The Roost was a non-descript apartment building, the region of town seemed moderately upscale but not overly so. The building had residents as they rode the turbo-lift to floor 767. Once out the door was there along with five other apartments.

They were at the Roost.

Layne might've been able to tell what Delmi was feeling, with her space wizard powers. But she was mostly just focused on the task at hand. As always, she was ready for anything. Well, mostly a fight. That was the thing Layne was *always* ready for. But other things too, of course! Even if she was less talented at those things...

...it felt good though, making progress. Not having rely purely on blind luck and the Force, but having actual leads. And also having someone there who was a bit *smarter* when it came to such things. Or well, she *hoped* that was the case.

“Alright… Let me go in first.” She said in a professional tone.

“I’ll scope it out and see what we’re dealing with. You watch the exit and keep your senses pealed for anything amiss.”

She turned for confirmation before walking towards the designated residence…

They stand outside the residence labeled 767-A, next to it was 767-B and so on.

Delmi prepared to try to open the door cautiously… checking to make sure some Jedi tingle wasn’t going off for Layne.

OOC: Vigilance, Coordination, or Resilience check at Average, each success reduces wounds taken by 1 plus Soak versus 15 wounds Pierce 2. Flipping a Destiny to upgrade the Difficulty once for Layne and Delmi.

Explosions! Why was it *always* explosions? She ducked out of the way; or tried to at least. It was hard to avoid an explosion altogether, after all. But it could've been worse.

(so 15-3 = 12, pierce subtracts 2 from her soak (normally 7), so Layne takes 7 wounds?)

Kaboom!

They are both blown back from the blast and then the floor tilts from the structural damage and they slide towards the now flaming opening exposed to the Delaya skyline.

OOC: Coordination or Athletics at Average with two setback for fire and smoke.

Delmi's hand caught exposed piping and she was holding on, but at least she was not plummeting down to the surface perhaps more than a thousand meters below. The air would be quite thin without the active life support surrounding this tall structure.

Layne was similarly able to hold on to something.

"Well this sucks!" she yelled out.

Two masked soldiers show up at the still stable parts about four meters above them looking down. Both in full military spec armor, head to toe, and then a third joins them a woman in a sleek dress. She looks down and said, “You were warned. If you survive and value living, stop chasing ghosts.”

She twirls her hands and they move away from the edge just as that part of the floor gives way and the two heroes are now in free fall towards the air-speeders below.

OOC: Coordination or Resilience check at Hard for controlling the fall and hopefully land on a passing speeder without serious injury.

"What? Who the hell are *you*? I'm gonn--"

Layne started falling. Which was a problem... but she didn't seem all that concerned. Something about trusting in the force or what not.

(Also, did it look like the hand-twirl was an application of the Force? Or just a 'we're leaving' gesture to the soldiers? *and* speaking of force powers, I only have basic Move, but can I make a quick glance around for any loose debris/objects that seem like they might be evidence, and try and draw it to me?)

Although it is morning on Alderaan at the Festival here it was just before dusk, as she pulled a piece of rubble to her hands with looked like residue possibly from the explosion. Maybe they could tell where it was it had to be powerful.

Still she continues plummeting.

Delmi flipped into the air and immediately began planning her fall free from debris…


She looked at Wyrmtongue76 intently as she fell.

She locks eyes and they fall back and it is the same eyes she’s seen in locket all these years. Meanwhile while the Jedi is using the Force to pull something to her. She can grab a passing speeder and with the advantage grab Layne but it’s going to hurt.

OOC: Grab an air-speeder and suffer 2 strain to grab Layne, if she wants.
