[Day 4 - LA] The Beach Episode (Twin Event?)

[Niall Organa]

"Freed from inhibitions indeed," Garth muttered to himself as he watched Lana stretch out on the sand in her skimpy outfit before turning his attention back to Niall and Breela.

"If y' can get me an audition, ah'll do th' convincing." Garth answers with typical flyboy bravado.

Niall looked at him, one eyebrow going up. "You seem to have a type, Garth." He said, chuckling softly.

He nodded. "Very good. I'll see what I can do. And then perhaps you can show them what you can do." Niall sighed pleasantly, looking around. "Well, it is a lovely day anyway, isn't it?"

[Garth Wayne Ulgo]

Garth punches Niall in the arm, after all it's not assaulting an officer if he's not in uniform right?

"I'm in love, not dead Major. 'Sides ah weren't th' only one who noticed, an ah'm not the one of us tha's married." ALthouhg Garth did move to position himself so his back was to Lana, removing temptation and all that.

"It is indeed. think th' weather'll hold out? Was a little stormy th' other night."

[Brannis Ulgo]

"The doublespeak of a politician is possibly deadlier than a soldier's blaster. First you tell me that trolls like Tuvi are taking advantage of the people but then rebuke me for questioning of the legitimacy of his cause that he pushed on the people. His agenda, or perhaps the Duke's agenda?

Or, Major Ulgo, is it your stance that Tuvi speaks for the people? That Queen Solara is weak and that Duke Ulgo needs to replace her?" Jocasta asks incensed.

"You talk about the influence of House Thul and the Empire. I had some expectations in coming to the Spring Palace, but all I have seen is House Thul acting as honorable nobles of Alderaan while the name of House Ulgo was used to attack the Prince. Just two days ago, their Duke personally accompanied a group to assist House Syrush with a killik infestation. Where was House Ulgo when House Syrush needed aide?

While I do not trust the Empire and am not fooled by their diplomacy, their delegates have acted in full accordance of diplomatic mission as far as I have seen. It makes one wonder who is the greater threat to Alderaan currently, an Imperial diplomatic delegation, or a disloyal House?"

Bran's eyebrows rise in surprise, and he doesn't even hear the last parts of Jocasta's accusatory questions.

"Whoa, whoa. Look. I was very clear. Tuvi Whatever was an opportunist and an idiot. That doesn't mean that people don't have genuine concern about the state of affairs on Alderaan. And that is based on a year of history, not anybody's attendance check in the last few days. You don't need to believe Ulgo is any good if you don't want to, but please don't pretend that the people of Alderaan are all feeling fine, and it's just some bad guys that are somehow tricking them into concern and frustration."

[Jocasta Teraan]

"Well a bit to unpack there, A you clearly don't listen when people talk. I don't take pride in "underhanded assassins" but merely know what things look like and this is clearly very public, clearly assassination, and House Rist would be more subtle about it."

"And B it seems pretty irresponsible to make conclusions about an event that you aren't familiar with the facts of." He explained calmly in the face of her rudness and bad attitude.

"Plus I again question the choice to discuss heavy and dark topics when we have all come here to enjoy a relaxing day at the beach."

"Well, the Major and I opened our conversation by commenting on how there seems to be something in the air here that makes one want to proselytize. I apologize for my shortness. I did not mean to suggest that you took pride in the work, merely that speaking of the quality of the work could admittedly be misconstrued as pride.

As for it being public and very obvious. I read that it was a drug overdose, seems fairly subtle to me if not for the timing. I didn't intend my comment in a private conversation to be the final judgement in the matter, just a supposition given the available information."

[Omandri Rist]

Omandri looked about the beach and the number of people milling about "seems like a rather public place to ask for privacy or declare you conversation such. Especially when talking about and accusing someone's family." He remarked with a more wry grin

"A drug overdose is about as subtle as my friend Keyhote over there. You did in fact immediately think it was an assassination, couldn't be that subtle then." He said raising an eye brow as he took a drink.

He looked out over the water again. "I'm not sure. Perhaps. Storms on Alderaan seldom last long." He looked back at the other two. "Now you've seen the beach, obviously, but have to had a chance to see the mountains? It's really a beautiful planet."

[Jocasta Teraan]

Jocasta looks at the two men bearing over her. "An Ulgo and a Rist, a classic combination.

The Ulgo refuses to address the seditious threats of his Duke and instead casts blame on everyone but the war-hero.

The Rist, apparently not an assassin, but a member of their new thought police. Can't allow discussions that questions either House now can we?

I will say again, who is the greatest threat to Alderaan?"

[Dapper Dog]

"Hey this is Beach Club, no politics, that means you too Lt. Teraan," he said with a practiced smile.

"If you can't play nice, well find a different beach."

[Omandri Rist]

Omandri chuckled "wasn't telling you what to think but you just seem mighty set on Contentiousness when I'm making good faith to have a discussion. But hey you heard the Prince no politics during beach club." He gave the pair of them finger guns as he backed up to the bar and acquired another drink holding a hand up for a high five from the prince as he did "you looked good out there Gual!" He said with a smile his mood apparently unaffected by the altercation

New drink in hand Omandri sought out the Aurilie with a friendly smile "Well Prince you looked good out there giving it your all. Good to see they know how to play hard up on Mount Jarol."

[Riss]

Following the game, as everyone split off to separate things. Riss wanted to lounge a bit but she was finding herself with fewer accessories than she otherwise would have liked she walked the beach in search of a pair of sunglasses, and a sunhat, each that she hoped she could charm off of somebody. All the while sipping at a nice refreshing newly filled drink.

She was sure someone here had to be charmable enough to get them to give up items like that.

Of course, there was the distraction to consider. A mood wounded, but not killed thanks to timely intervention. With that bandage on it she continued her dedication to borrowing some accessories from a poor stranger.

[Garth Wayne Ulgo]

He looked out over the water again. "I'm not sure. Perhaps. Storms on Alderaan seldom last long." He looked back at the other two. "Now you've seen the beach, obviously, but have to had a chance to see the mountains? It's really a beautiful planet."

"Got out t' Aldera yesterday fer the sunrise over the caldera." Garth counters. "That were quite breathtaking."

[Gil Corren]

Gil's eyes had moved to Omandri as things started to turn a bit complicated. It seemed a few words from Gaul had straightened things out though and soon his eyes returned to Tethys.

[Aurilie Alde]

New drink in hand Omandri sought out the Aurilie with a friendly smile "Well Prince you looked good out there giving it your all. Good to see they know how to play hard up on Mount Joral."

Aurilie would find her floppy hat once more and replace it on her head to stave off the potential sunburn. She looked up at Omandri approached once more, giving him a small smile in return. "You think so? Well, thank you very much. While we do live under harsher conditions than here I wouldn't say that my efforts weren't all attributed to that. Sports like volleyball aren't exactly commonplace. I'd say that much of it was because of my teammates, also opponents like you, that encouraged me to give it the old college try. It just wouldn't do if it remotely looked like I was slacking or out of my element."

He nodded "Well you certainly did that, I don't think any could question your fierce competitive spirit and I am happy to have given you a worthy opponent to test yourself against." He said admiring her large floppy hat and somewhat old fashioned sense of style for a moment.

"so tell of Mount Jarol, I have only briefly heard of it from others bit never spoken to someone who lives there, especially someone as intimately familiar with the place as I am sure you are." His tone was light and pleasant as he took another sip of his drink.

At the prince's intervening words, Bran concedes that this discussion isn't going well.

"Jocasta, you've got the fire. You're a dedicated defender of Alderaan. Thank you for your service. If you want to talk -- really talk, not just stuff everybody from a house into one single box -- call my chief of staff, Kaleena right there, to schedule something." Bran turned and quickly disappeared among other beach goers, although as indicated the skinny Bothan woman who'd been invisible throughout the conversation now side steps into view. She has a professionally neutral expression as with one hand she offers a card with various forms of contact information while the other holds onto a datapad with what looks like a death grip.

[Aurilie Alde]

He nodded "Well you certainly did that, I don't think any could question your fierce competitive spirit and I am happy to have given you a worthy opponent to test yourself against." He said admiring her large floppy hat and somewhat old fashioned sense of style for a moment.

"so tell of Mount Jarol, I have only briefly heard of it from others bit never spoken to someone who lives there, especially someone as intimately familiar with the place as I am sure you are." His tone was light and pleasant as he took another sip of his drink.

Aurilie chuckled a little at that. "Ther is much inspiration found competition. After the Huttball event, it makes me almost wish that there are more occasions for team sports. However, I have to admit that my success might be attributed to my team captain, Miss Riss. She's done a great deal at roping people in together." Her head would turn slightly as she seemingly wanted to point out Riss in case the gentleman didn't know her.

She took a sip from her drink and smiled a touch proudly. "Honestly, I do find it pleasantly surprising that a few people have mentioned my kingdom by name but I will be glad you tell you about my land...the territories of Mount Jarol are situated in the remote areas of the Juran Mountains, on the other side of wayfarer's pass, practically on the other side of the mountains. Most of the kingdom is found on the valley and along the river, although my estates are situated right on the mountains themselves. With how far north and high we are, it shouldn't be surprising that we do find ourselves neighbouring large stretches of untamed wilderness made up of pine forests, mountains, and even bits of tundra. We make due by coexisting with the land however we can and have done so for several generations to this day. Our winters are admittedly long too and we've just started our spring now."

Watching the two of them take obvious notice of the lady sunbathing she rolled her eyes, "Boys will be boys. You two have fun and enjoy yourselves. I'm gonna go follow her lead." She leaves and finds her umbrella where she pops open a beer and enjoys the solitude.

[Layne Hoshin]

"Sisco. Emphasis on the caœai sound." He nodded his head in assurance.

He looked back at the woman again, then back at Layne. "Then why expose yourself so much like she is? Does she want others to stare at her?"

"Yeah, that's what I said, sisko," she shrugged, then looked between the Sith and the Chiss with his odd question.

Not that that was the reason Layne was looking. It was more a matter of them being an active *Sith*. What did she even know about this Beniko? Her memories were a little hazy, though the pre-arrival briefing had probably filled in some blanks. Beniko had been on Nar Shaddaa the same Layne was... but she'd been lower in rank then, hadn't she? Attached to Darth Xevious at the time. But she hadn't recalled any personal encounters with the woman.

"Yeah, that's what I said, sisko," she shrugged, then looked between the Sith and the Chiss with his odd question.

He took a deep sigh at her attempt to say the word again and nodded. "Close enough, I suppose. Good first attempt, Layne." He turned around and looked at her again, lingering a bit longer this time as he contemplated this information.

"It does make sense tactically speaking, I suppose. Distracting your foes by exposing what appeals to their baser instincts, get them off their guard and get information out of them that they would otherwise not be willing to divulge. Not to mention doing all of this while you humans are under the amorousness effects of this festival. Ingenious play by the Sith." He stroked his chin as he thought aloud about this play, looking at her for a few moments longer, soaking in the glory of this move.

"I should expect nothing less from them." He had been listening a lot to a lot of people of late, but listening got you only so far. Unfortunately. "You've been looking at her as well, though likely not for the same reasons she wants others to. I assume then you know her?" At least, that was his interpretation of it. Damned exposed skin.

[Layne Hoshin]

He took a deep sigh at her attempt to say the word again and nodded. "Close enough, I suppose. Good first attempt, Layne." He turned around and looked at her again, lingering a bit longer this time as he contemplated this information.

She blinked a few times as he made such a clinical analysis of it, but shrugged it off after a moment or two.

"Peripherally. I used to be on her side and she was in at least one place of importance at the same time I was. Never really interacted with her though. Though I did manage to ruin the breakfast of her old boss once."
