[Day 4 - LA] The Beach Episode (Twin Event?)

[Dapper Dog]

Seeing the Prince start to mingle with the other beach goers, Jocasta left her sunbathing spot and approached.

"Prince Gaul, I was out of line earlier and I apologize. I understand this beach trip was to be a time of relaxation given recent events.

Sometimes, I find it difficult to hold my tongue. I would like to blame the drinks, but this is only my second." She holds up a half filled glass.

"It's already forgotten Lt., just have a good time and let your hair down. We all have to live with each other at the end of the day," he said warmly.

"Are you enjoying the beach at least?"

"I am, thank you for arranging this." She sips conservatively from her glass.

"Despite the pressures of the Festival, I've managed to find some times like this to relax. I rather enjoyed riding thranta again thanks to the Queen, I've met some very interesting people, and I even enjoyed the Huttball matches Yesterday. You had quite a good showing in your match."

"Well if I can aid in getting you to relax then I consider that mission success," he responded.

She finishes her glass and hands it to a passing droid. "I thank you for your hospitality and now I must excuse myself. I can hear the water calling for me."

Well, it was clear that something was wrong with her about this matter. Time to go to the holonet to find some answers about this subject. There had to be some academic resources available to view on this subject. He could do it later on tonite before he rested.

As Hacha explained the aerodynamic nature of swimwear, there was something again in the back of the mind; a feeling about all of this. It was not a relevant to the discussion, however, so he quickly suppressed it like all of the others and nodded, going back to his thoughts on the matter.

As the game seemed to hit a hiatus, the Count took one of the deck chairs to enjoy the moment, drink in hand. It wasn't his usual way of spending time but if on it, why not take the most of it.

"I'd imagine that Miss Riss would do rather well in a position of leadership if that's something she chooses to find herself in," she mentioned as an aside with a chuckle before a sip of her drink, perhaps hoping the appropriate ears were burning.

Aurilie took off her sunglasses so that he could get a better look at her eyes and she smiled at the prospect. "I'd highly recommend it and it's not too far away, of course. While I've been to the icy wastes of Hoth and the sweltering jungles of Rodia, which are admittedly dangerous, there haven't been many places that compare to the majestic and serene beauty of Mount Joral. Admittedly, there might be a hint of hubris in my words but I do feel I am being sincere. Out of curiosity, what are some notable worlds have you been to?"

Omandri laughed a bit "Well perhaps a bit of pride but you wear it confidently so it works." he replied "As for my travels I've been a little all over spent some times in the jungles of Kashyyykk and Trandosha, some time on D'Qar. Did deployments on Tattooine came back later and visited the more remote settlements. Spent a lot of time on Eshan learning from the Echani people the ways of hand to hand combat. I admit I'm not much of a survivalist, I have a companion droid who helped me with most of those things."

Aurilie did smile a touch proudly after a sip of her drink. "As a prince, it is only befitting that I represent my domain as best as I can, although I understand if not everyone shares my opinion."

No shortage of achievements there, I'm sure. Perhaps, if anything, might make me look a bit like a tourist in comparison." She chuckled a bit ruefully at that. No shortage of achievements there, I'm sure. Perhaps, if anything, might make me look a bit like a tourist in comparison." She chuckled a bit ruefully at that. He smiled as she praised his efforts and accomplishments "no no I'm just a man that saw a problem and realized I had tools to help." He replied with a smile "and my Droid buddy is to thank for me staying alive most of the time."

He took a drink and cleared his throat a little "uhm yes I, enlisted in the Republic military after I graduated from medical school. I served for about six years give or take."

He smiled as she praised his efforts and accomplishments "no no I'm just a man that saw a problem and realized I had tools to help." He replied with a smile "and my Droid buddy is to thank for me staying alive most of the time."

"Well, we do a little help in our journies from time to time." She gave a shrug on the matter. It wasn't like she travelled on her lonesome in the wild often, especially on her hunts. Someone had to haul the carcass back or guide her through any foreign terrain. "Still, tools do only so much when sitting there and really shine when someone puts them into use. It is initiative that brings you there in the first place, correct?"

"Ah, six years, that's an impressive record. I admit that I've tried my hand at the Royal Officer Academy on Alderaan but it wasn't entirely meant to be. Thankfully, it seems that there is no shortage of capable souls serving the Republic. Perhaps fortuitous that we've managed to catch you in between your tours." She smiled softly at him.

"Ah, six years, that's an impressive record. I admit that I've tried my hand at the Royal Officer Academy on Alderaan but it wasn't entirely meant to be. Thankfully, it seems that there is no shortage of capable souls serving the Republic. Perhaps fortuitous that we've managed to catch you in between your tours." She smiled softly at him.

He nodded with an appreciative look and returning smile back to her "Well yes there are many brave souls among the Republic forces. I served longer than some but not so long as others. I felt it was my duty to give back since I was born with so much. A personal choice that is not for everyone." He said reinforcing her earlier statement.

"But yes that was sometime ago, nearly half a decade since I've served. But" He gave Aurilie a look for a moment before smiling a touch wider "I'm kind of glad I ended up here too."

He nodded with an appreciative look and returning smile back to her "Well yes there are many brave souls among the Republic forces. I served longer than some but not so long as others. I felt it was my duty to give back since I was born with so much. A personal choice that is not for everyone." He said reinforcing her earlier statement.

"But yes that was sometime ago, nearly half a decade since I've served. But" He gave Aurilie a look for a moment before smiling a touch wider "I'm kind of glad I ended up here too."

"Well, we can only do so much when we're so young." She chuckled a little and then looked at him carefully, he didn't seem that old. "I'm sure we can all be capable of great things if we commit to it. Starting out early does create a great foundation for everything else to build on, so I suppose that goes for the both of us."

She nodded. "It is probably the best time to be back home. I hope it hasn't been too long since last time you've been back on Alderaan?"

"Well, we can only do so much when we're so young." She chuckled a little and then looked at him carefully, he didn't seem that old. "I'm sure we can all be capable of great things if we commit to it. Starting out early does create a great foundation for everything else to build on, so I suppose that goes for the both of us."

She nodded. "It is probably the best time to be back home. I hope it hasn't been too long since last time you've been back on Alderaan?"

There was a quiet chuckle at that "Oh it has been some time actually. I think the last time I was on Alderaan was about....." he paused "I'd say the last time I was on leave before I left the military, so about six years ago or so? I uh well my family and I don't necessarily see eye to eye."

Aurilie gave a few accepting nods when he mentioned the part about family. "I wonder if Alderaan almost seems like a different world by comparison now. I can't say I've ever been away for far too long but I can understand how home can sometimes seem like a foreign place potentially, in more ways than one in your case. Well, that is just something that they'll have to realize on their own and come around on. I suppose six years is indeed a long time, the thought of you is likely far different than actually you. However, I digress...I apologize if I'm speaking out of bounds on the matter."

Omandri simply smiled at her response and shook his head "No, no. It's fine I find the honest assessment and idea sharing to be refreshing. Alderaan is different certainly, but honestly still the same place in the ways that matter. And well are you aware of the business House Rist is in? The fancy word for it is Mortality. The common term would be assassination." He took a sip of his drink "and well I'm a doctor who is also a pacifist. So you can see how those ideologies don't quite mesh."

Aurilie found herself look around while she took a gulp of her drink. While that might have been common knowledge around Alderaan, they did have guests at their doorsteps and she wasn't entirely sure if that was something that should be said in the open. However, she should probably let the Rist conduct themselves as they wish. They know best, after all.

She nodded slowly at that. "I can see how that might be considered a difference in philosophy but something like a medical practice would honours mortality, would it not? Perhaps not in the same way but I'd say that being a sort of gatekeeper to mortality is admirable. And, that's without even touching on how doctors are generally respected by many for their skilled aid."

[Omandri Rist]

Omandri wobbled his hand a little but smiled "I'd actually say mortality is my enemy. Everything doctors do is to stave off death from the dramatic treatng of grevious Wounds to encouraging a patient take their vitamins at a check up."

"My family had less of a problem with me, I have a problem with them and what they do. You can say it's tradition all you want It doesn't sit right with me that our fortune and influence is built on secrets and death." He explained "its more the pacifist part that causes a problem. I don't believe in the taking of sentient life especially for money."

[Aurilie Alde]

"My apologies, I perhaps was speaking a bit vaguely on the matter. I suppose in a roundabout way, I was thinking that discouraging death still had something to do with it but perhaps I'm missing my mark, so to speak." She faintly smiled on an apologetic note. "When it comes to the whole operation and traditional duties of the House, I can imagine that pacifism probably finds itself in an odd spot with the family." "

She narrowed her eyes as she suddenly wondered about something. "And...this is a tenant you maintain as a member of the Republic military as well?"

[Count Serenno]

It looked like the beach time momentum ebbed, and the Count had enough. Locked in no conversation, he bade farewells and strolled out to shaded areas.

She narrowed her eyes as she suddenly wondered about something. "And...this is a tenant you maintain as a member of the Republic military as well?"

His smile still remained but it changed, shifted. His mood most present in his eyes, his overall expression outwardly pleasant but clearly a sadness was buried there "uh well not exactly. It is something I took up after my service. I wasn't technically a pacifist while I grew up here but I always found what my family did wrong. I've....I've taken more life than I'm comfortable with but that was war. After I saw what war was, I vowed never to take another life and instead spend my days saving people." He explained his Gaze shifting to the sand at the beginning but by the end meeting Aurilie's eyes.
