Her feet were moving before she was aware of it. Acting on pure instinct, and her calling to protect. Her boots skidded across the smoke-covered floor, and the green blade cut through the fog of battle, straight through the droid's weapon and deeply into its chassis.

"You will not harm him, or anyone else!" Kat adjusted her posture, the lightsaber readied for another attack. "Not while I am here."

She stood firmly between the droid and the fallen prince. No one would pass.

The assassins were out numbered... the battle was won for now.

Once the battle was over, Kat lowered her saber and extinguished the blade. Quickly she placed it back into its holster and knelt down besides Gaul, applying a stim to him to jolt him back into the land of the living.

"Your highness? Can you hear me?" she asked, holding him up in her arms.

"Ah ha, you dogs! You never stood a chance against the wall of leave we created! Now away with you!"

Keyhote turns to check on Ser Monstrous while Sando approaches Cynella and offers her a floor length dark red cloak
"Yer ladyship, in case you were feeling cold what with the sword holes and so on."

Gaul coughed and said, "Please tell me I didn't die? I would be very upset."

[Katarzyna Ulgo]

Gaul waking up and talking was a huge relief. "Oh, thank the saint. You're alive." Without thinking of decorum for now, Kat hugged him tightly. And then in a shocking moment kissed his cheek.

"I thought I --- we were going to lose you there for a moment."

[Desilijic Keyhote]

Loud Hutt gasp.

Slightly less loud Drall gasp.

"Love...it blooms even on the battlefield." Keyhote sheds a single tear.

[Dapper Dog]

"First rule, never run away from your bodyguard... sorry I was thinking of the shuttles," he said sadly.

[Cynella Andrim]

"The worst of it is that this dress is ruined," Cynella said, shaking her head. "It's quite alright. I suppose it accentuates the look when worn with swords." She flourished with them a few times as she headed back over to the sexy prince.

"Oh my," she said. "I suppose this is where your affections went." She shook her head in mock-dejection. "I never stood a chance."

Cynella's words were met with a brief, almost sheepish smile.

"We should move somewhere safe. If they attacked here, there must be more of them elsewhere." Standing up, she offered her hands to Gaul to help him back on to his feet.

"Ser Monstrous, was it? Let's get your injuries looked at, ok? I have some experience as a field-medic."

[Cynella Andrim]

"There must be some sort of safehouse within the palace," Cynella suggested, glancing around. "I agree with the Master Jedi that the shuttle is likely to be sabotaged." She'd seen the fate of such things even with sturdy Kuati vessels. They'd swoop way too low and swooping was already bad to begin with.

She shook her head. The last of the disorientation passed in favor of a bit of adrenaline. "I can't believe they stabbed me," she said, looking down at her wound. "Like what if they succeeded in killing me? Then they might have a big problem on their hands! House Andrim doesn't take kindly to deaths, nope."

Almost outta nowhere once things finally calmed Cynella would feel the sudden bump, and warmth, of a near half-sprint Riss running up behind her and wrapping big needy arms around her torso in a warm embrace. "You're okay," she says, the sound of a rather large amount of relief in her voice.

Ser Monstrous nodded as he leaned against the wall.

Kat tried to help Monstrous, but his concussion seemed pretty bad. The treatment at least gave him some respite, but a more experienced doctor would have to look at that injury in better conditions later.

Putting away her few medical things back into the pouches on her belt, she looked up as she heard Riss. "Riss! You're safe! Thank the stars." The relief in her voice was obvious as she made no efforts to hide it.

"My uncle must be attacking other key locations as well, such as Panteer Castle. Ulgo soldiers and Rist assassins tried to kill prince Gaul, but we stopped them. We should... find a safe location, and try to make contact with the rest of the royal family. If they need help we need to be ready to move quickly."

[Nudimsu]

Having sweeper the perimeter before entering, Nudimsu entered the area, looking on at the others. He walked in, putting away his Ascension gun and stared at (mostly) strangers.

"Oh good, most of you are alive." He looked on. "Cynella Rhiannon Esmetrice Andrim. Good to see you once more, even under the circumstances. Don't know the rest of you formally, but I know who you are, so we may forgo the traditional human greeting and name exchange. Now, could someone please tell me what the hell has been going on?"

His voice did betray a bit of frustration over the situation.

[Dapper Dog]

Gaul frowned and said, "Treason, unexpected... and yet not that surprising."

He lead them, if they followed, to a safe room and control center. Security personnel are trying to get messages out and then one exclaimed, "Communications are back up! We have confirmation from Prince Unther the Queen is alive, your sister too my lord!"

[Riss]

In the walk over, Riss would manage at least a moment to get over to Kat as well. Giving her a big-big-big hug to make up for the fact she was second on her list thanks to everything going on. There was warmth, there was relief, and when they all eventually got to the safe room?

Riss was cross-legged atop a box, hands holding onto her top leg with fingers rucking in between them, holding on, looking around, and looking like the fretting mess she was.
