[Day 5 - EA] Flower Court is in Session!

[Cynella Andrim]

Cynella, definitely a bit anxious around so many sweet (and calorically abhorrent) dishes, brought her own dietary variety of baked goods. They'd been made with almond flour and a bit of peanut butter so definitely deathly for anybody with a nut allergy (which she did, in fact, label heavily).

Most importantly, though, they didn't have any added sugar!

Kellen was delighted by her reaction. "I am so pleased that you, and the children, like them my lady. I don't often get a chance to bake these days." He was always a hit at faculty parties though. Some even speculated that his exquisite baking may have played a role in his rapid rise to full professorship.

Miyi Thul arrived with a droid carrying long trays of mini-pies with whipped cream topping. She smiled and said, “I hope this is enjoyable for all the kids and kids at heart.”

“And if they want we brought ice cream!”

[Count Serenno]

It took the Count a moment to oversee the preparation, but he arrived with pastry made to neatly resemble the most popular children's treat on Serenno: Mantero croissants! Which were a a cross-over between a moon cake and a croissant, giving it a spiral form, them inheriting the goodness of the filling from both.

"I've taken the opportunity to share the cultural heritage of my planet." He said as he presented the tray.

Garth arrives with another tray of Katarzyna's treats.

"How many more trays of these'd ya make cuz?" He dips his head to those he recognizes before placing the tray on a bench fir when the first wave, already mostly devoured, was finally finished.

"That's a deal, I have to have more," she said warmly.

Bran looks at her skeptically for a moment. "Are you sure," he asks quietly. "I don't want to teach you something that will get you in trouble." He did seem to be joking, especially as, while he spoke, he'd taken one cookie, carefully broke it in half, and offered her one piece.

[Nudimsu]

The Chiss had a variety of desserts and everything, culinary extravagance to delight and to tantalize your taste buds. Taken by people who take their craft very seriously, and secret family recipes that guarded well, even by Chiss standards. Nudimsu himself had seen such fights occur a pastry dish that nearly caused some Chiss to raise their voice at the opposing House! It was quite the tense situation that caused families to not talk to each other socially for a few months.

Unfortunately, he was not someone who learnt how to cook while he was a part of the Ascendency. In fact, it was likely there was going to be anything he would even be familiar with how to cook the things he knew with the ingredients he had any remote familiarity with. So, he did what he did best: think on his feet and pay someone credits to make something as close to the real thing as possible with only a night's notice to do it in.

The end results? A slightly angry pastry chef and nowhere near close to the quality of the pastry he was used to. However, the person who he asked to do it said it was delicious, so he went off the human's subpar understanding of proper baked goods and took it along for the trip.

Hopefully the children would just eat it and go.

"And mayb' ah should've brought some o' those pastries. Sorry ah missed y' last night, Lord Xero were quite insistent on a meetin' it seems."

"Yes, unless you don't want to, I apologize for imposing," she offered now self conscious.

Bran laughed lightly and shook his head. "No, I apologize for trying to tease you. I am better at baking than jokes, obviously." He presses the half cookie into her hand then holds his up like a miniature drink awaiting a clink. "Cheers to fun things like baking and children?"

Drawing near, Garth mirthfully chats.

"And mayb' ah should've brought some o' those pastries. Sorry ah missed y' last night, Lord Xero were quite insistent on a meetin' it seems."

"Yes... Xero mentioned you stopped by, the pastries were delicious," she responded.

"Yes to all of that, but mostly cookies," she said laughing and then ate her cookie with gusto.

"Yes... Xero mentioned you stopped by, the pastries were delicious," she responded.

"Did he also mention his plans fer a dinner party tomorrow?" Garth enquired as he cleared away a few of the empty platters that had already had their contents devoured, while sugar hyped children reached forth with sticky hands for more.

"Ah were hopin' y' might be able t' come."

[Dapper Dog]

"Yep and of course I'll come, I live there," she said cheerfully.

[Omandri Rist]

Omandri smiled brightly with a tray of apple cinnamon treats. It was one of the things he had been given on his travels from a nice elderly Pantoran woman he met. He followed things exactly as he remembered and they tasted almost perfect. Hers were still better but these were a damn good tribute.

Garth is pleased by Miyi's refreshingly upbeat attitude given the Thul lockdown, and his smile betrays those feelings.

"Ah'm glad that th' change in circumstances hasn't seemed t' dull yer outlook. Any news on when things might r'turn t' normal?"

"Ah hope so too, ah hear the Cloudshape Falls are spectacular from upper atmo, ah'd love t' take you up there an' share the view together."

"Enough, I hope," Kat chuckled, remaining busy with adding the toppings to each one as the children and other interested parties kept piling up. Though she was more than happy to let Garth speak with Miyi.

They seemed kinda cute together. Or maybe the Festival was really getting to her.
