"Oh so you have asked other people thus far," Cynella said with an amused grin. Her expression turned more serious as the conversation shifted to the nature of Chiss. "Ah, yes, I didn't mean to imply that your people are so wholly without emotion. The cultural differences are surely the source of most of these behaviors, as you put it. What I truly meant is that there're variations in all individuals and, in my case, I believe my case would do well in setting this aside." She smirked. "For I too really enjoy dancing."Nudimsu wrote: ↑Fri Aug 06, 2021 2:54 am"I am glad you seem to understand my intentions of my questions. Some have reacted less than favorably about it." He looked at her. Though, it is not that I or my people disregard such things entirely. We experience emotions and those same desires as you humans do; we're nearly of the same species, after all. The difference is that we are then taught to not let such things hinder out actions and our judgement on matters. Emotions tend to cloud what must be done for the good of the Ascendancy. So, while we are on duty, we do our best to keep them from interfering. When we are not, it is not uncommon for us to seek some sort of emotional outlet to release our tension. Be it carnal pursuits or thru some creative outlet. I, myself, listen to music and occasionally dance."
Nudimsu nodded along as she continued, acknowledging what she was saying. "You have the right attitude to join the Ascendency with this, but whatever this 'curse' is that you find yourself with, it will do no good to dwell on this problem more than you must. Recognize that you have it and move to either change it or ensure that it does not prevent you from doing what must be done. Though, I'm entirely unsure[ how one fixes a problem in not being interested in intimacy, or if it should be fixed if it isn't effecting your role in the House. That'd be a matter for you and your House to determine." He did lower his voice a little out of respect for her modesty so it could not be heard. She was being rather helpful this morning and wouldn't want to cause her any stress for it.
He nodded and handed her some of the pancakes, though with nothing fancy to it. "Hopefully my cooking skills match my skills of flipping them." He served himself some as well before looking at the toppings and syrups, clearly watching her to see what she would grab and following suit thereafter.
She pursed her lips. "I'm not so wholly uninterested, mind you. It's just a problem with relationships in general. In the end, it isn't such a hamper for my House. As long as I secure an arrangement here on this planet, then all will be well. And between you and me, I think that's going quite well so far."
On a lighter note, she looked back to regarding the pancakes. But when it seemed like he was waiting for her to take them, she simply shook her head. "Oh, I already ate breakfast today."
