[Day 2 - LM] Soup for the Masses (Twin Event)

She says to the confused boy, "He should know that it wasn't an insult... but not sure if it's a compliment yet."

Sensing the obvious, that he was making the boy uncomfortable, and not wanting to cause a scene, he left the child to his soup and took a few mouthfuls of his own. It was good, definitely better than what he got served when he was growing up

"Excited fer the Huttball match t'morrow? Ah hear yer family's puttin' a team on the pitch." He asks Miyi, after swallowing and dabbing his mouth with a napkin.

Cynella nodded with much enthusiasm. "Yes, thus far, Alderaan as a whole has proven to be wonderful hosts indeed. It appears that no expense has been spared in celebrating this tradition rooted in history."

A faint smile. "I'm glad, though, that House Andrim's strengths are recognized here. It is my hope that Alderaan may benefit from bolstering their forces if and when such a need arises."

It took tremendous effort for Garth to keep from choking on his soup as the kid spoke up with the bluntness only children can get away with. "Awfully canny fer a 12 year old ain't ya." Garth teases the kid slightly, though the sideways glance he shoots him hopefully conveys the sarcasm of his statement.

Clearing his throat he turns to Miyi and concentrates reeeeal hard on his enunciation. "Baroness Thul, would you do me the extreme honor of joining me for a late dinner tomorrow evening?"

Garth can't help the smile that crosses his face at the cheeky, endearing presumptuousness of Miyi. "Earlier may be for the best, ah can't foresee how poorly ah may be feeling after the Thranta riding event after all." He replies, with his distinctive drawl starting to re-emerge.

"Would m'lady be more predisposed to a 5pm (EE) dinner reservation?"

Accepting her hand in his right, and using his left to shield the innocent twelve year old eyes beside him, Garth lifts the treasure in his palm to his lips brushing the knuckles with a light kiss. "Most sensible indeed, now I need not wait as long t' be blessed with yer presence again."

"Gross," the kid said before finishing their meal.

Miyi smiled and rose saying, "I look forward to dinner, but sadly break time is over."

She got back work with more pep in her step.

Inspired by the impact their interaction seemed to have on Miyi's mood, Garth wolfed down the rest of his food, before he too rose from the table. Cleaning the empty dishes away, and whistling as he worked, he dropped off a tray of dishes in the kitchen and resumed his rounds in the dining hall.

Kat had nodded to her-fellow-dishwasher-Gil as they worked, but she had been perfectly fine to continue the good work in silence...

Until the announcement of the queen's arrival. She wiped her hands dry on a nearby towel before passing it to Gil, and took a step back, ready to pay proper respects to the monarch.

After a short break, Zeno rotates out with a dishwasher, letting them take his spot as a server. "Good morning," he says, greeting her.

"Is dishwashing part of Jedi curriculum, or just a hobby?" he asks lightheartedly.

"All Jedi younglings and padawans take part in helping out the less fortunate ones. I've done my fair share of staffing in the soup kitchens along with my fellow Jedi. Like the tradition here, it teaches one humility and compassion for others."
