Coup de Drink (D8, LE)

The whole ordeal had been rather intense and Omandri had no kath hound in the fight so made no move to intervene. He kept his thoughts to himself as he sipped his beer watching the Duke leave and he nodded to Jocasta as she left as well. When Breela left he took her hand and gave it a slight squeeze and a smile "Maybe a nother night before you leave. but i'd like that." he said as she left.

with them both gone he sat back and took a long drink "Well that was dumb, brave but dumb. But hey I don't have to live with it, if she's happy with it then more power to her." he looked to Nudimsu "So what is up next for you Nudimsu? Any firm plans or just back to doing jobs as they come?"

He looked at Omandri and nodded. "I think she can live with it. I hope she can. I left the Ascendency for similar reasons to her, though I was not so emotional about it." He took a deep sigh. "I suppose that does end the no politics rule for the evening."

He turned around and looked at the two over at the corner before looking back at him. "I don't know yet. Will probably return to Pantora with Durasay. After that, yes, I will keep taking up jobs. Though, from what I read off of Durasay, he may have other interests that will make him return here again, so I doubt it will be the last time I am seen here. This festival and its effects; truly amazing." He sipped his whiskey while looking down at the empty bowl.

This also meant he could see her again. He could keep other secrets with her too, if she'd like.

"It gives me no pleasure to say it, but it does seem obvious what you have planned for the moment. Many wounded, not enough Kolto tanks for everyone. You'll be working hard on that. Riss seemed rather broken emotionally when I saw her earlier today, so you will help take care of her as well, because you do care about her. I imagine others do as well, so you will not share that burden alone." His thoughts turned to Craw for a moment; they were so similar. "I imagine your family is in chaos as well with everything that has happened, that will take up your time."

He paused and stared at him for a long moment.

"It may be some time before you wander again. However, when that time returns, I could use a doctor on my ship. Even if it's only for short periods, even if you got your own ship. I have found it more enjoyable to wander around with others, as opposed to just yourself."

Omandri smirked a little as Nudimsu talked about what the doctor would be busy with in the days to come "Oh no doubt I'll have my work cut out for me." He jersey a thumb back at Layne "that one needs to stay planet side for at least I week so we can tend to the literal hole in her abdomen. There are a few others that will require follow ups."

He sipped his beet again chuckling a little "as for family business, business you don't know that half of it, As of about three hours ago i was named Duke Omandri Rist new head of the Rist family. I think it's safe to say I won't be wandering for quite sometime." He said with a wry smile. "But I might just take you up on the offer for a short trip sometime or if you need my help give me a call I'll always see what I can work out."

[Delmi Koor]

Delmi continued her alcoholic vigil with a sigh at the end of the exchange between Jocasta and Rhys.

All of this mattered little to her… the fighting was over; the battle won. She didn’t expect to be around much longer to become enmeshed in all these people’s lives.

She allowed herself a moment of reflection… thinking back on the events of the past week.

"I believe ropes may be required for that one to ensure she can sit still for the wound to heal." Nudimsu said with a straight face, ensuring his voice was heard. "She's a rather stubborn one." The irony of that statement was likely lost on him. "Though, I suppose congratulations are in order, then. Promotions within ones House are things to celebrate within my people; shows they have great faith in your abilities." Although, they were a House of Assassins. There were quite a bit of contradictions as to what would be expected of him as a Duke to what would be expected of him as a Doctor.

Well, at least he could ensure his targets would die comfortably.

Layne listened to the exchange... then when the silence followed she downed her glass in one go and gestured for the bartender to refill it.

"...well," she said, "that was awkward."

Delmi just nodded in response and took another drink.

A hearty chuckle at that one "Well I've only known her for a couple of days and yeah I'm getting that impression. Wasn't sure about her at first but I think she's growing on me." he said casting a smile over to Layne at the bar.

He focused back to Nudimsu "Well, I guess that's part of what i'm doing here tonight. Though not sure if celebrating is the right thing. Got a kriff load of work to do." his voice lowered a bit "between you and me we might not be in the Mrtality business much longer. Its a good shift but" he took a drink and then exhaled a big breath "Its going to be a big change."

[Nudimsu]

"Well, I have never been the one for assassinations, tactical as they are." She nodded. "I also met Layne a few days ago. Seemed rather embarrassed about wearing swimsuits, but she is at least a tolerable person."

He finishes up his whiskey and orders another in the meanwhile. "Still is quite the task for you still, Omandri. I imagine there will be a lot of unhappy people within your family about the sudden break of tradition. Do be careful how you go about it, lest they keep their skills sharp behind your back. Humans do not adapt to sudden change well, I have noticed."

He nodded "Yes, it will be done slowly at my sister's suggestion. We'll ease into it, some will dislike it and we will undoubtedly lose operatives but in the end I hope we will build a better legacy." He said sounding confident and hopeful

He polishes off his own beer and sits back with a long sigh "man I just, this is not where I expected things to go this week. I thought hey see some old faces, some places, maybe stop a rebellion and then back to it two weeks tops." He ran a hand through his hair a rueful smile on his lips "best laid plans I guess." He says chuckling.

[Nudimsu]

"I cannot remember the actual saying; something about greatness thrusting at you. Sounds rather inappropriate, if you ask me." He shook his head and shrugged. "Still, in my honest opinion, the reign of Duke Omandri Rist will be a interesting footnote in your planet's history, should you let it. After all, you didn't seek out this power, yet it was given to you. A rare occurrence, indeed."

He looked at him, tilting his head a little. "I would like keep tabs on you, if that is all right. For just my own curiosity, really. I want to see how this whole will end up going."

Omandri smiled "Well I think that's the biggest vote of confidence I've gotten. I mean you're the first person I've told but still. I appreciate that Nudimsu."

The doc got another beer and nodded "I mean feel free, I won't be writing progress reports for you or anything but take my comm number feel free to check in any time and if im ever looking for a capable crew I'll know I can reach out to you as well."

[Nudimsu]

He nods and gets up from his seat and looked at him, rather disappointed that he wouldn't be writing progress reports; it would have allowed him to not have to socialize. "I suppose I can communicate with you every so often, and yes, some work thrown towards the Turtle would be appreciated. Just be sure to stay."

With that he looked down on him and nodded. "Well, I may see you before I leave the planet, but if I don't, here is my comm information." He placed a card down and shrugged. "I have some thinking to do about a recently revealed secret, and another drink would not be the way to do it."
