[Day 8 - LA] The Queen and Soldier

“I had a pretty good heroic speech lined up, but old man Bouris Ulgo is no joke,” he said honestly.

“And he just surrendered? Good, I will have to thank Riss for the heads up, guess second time was the charm,” he laughed and regretted it. “Yeah that hurt.”

"We can thank her for a lot. Now take it easy. Doctors will take care of you," Kat assured him, and let the experts take care of his injuries.

It gave her some time to message Gaul to let him know his brother was also safe and would live. It was the least she could do now for this family who had just gone through such danger and uncertainity.

And rushing in, finally, was a robed individual, expecting combat and excitement...and instead it seemed rather calm. He made sure to inform someone while entering entering that, while rather armed at the moment, not to mention robed, someone in there could vouch for his allegiance.

Likely being a Chiss, and the foe being rather openly anti-nonhuman, would probably give him a sort of break. Even if he was about 3/4ths Human.

"Well good." He says, keeping his red eyes on her. "She seems like a large pain in the ass, but she's been rather helpful these past few days to me." He said with a loud sigh. "Seems that I'm, to use the phrase, all dressed up with nowhere to go." He took a deep breath and looked at everyone.

"Where as you look like you've been thru something, though I am glad to see you are still okay." There was a feeling within him, given that his emotional walls were currently down. Hands were a bit shakey. Heart was accelerating more than expected. Could be that was because he ran here. Had to be it.

"I...don't know if this is the time. I assume it is not...but it could be. I would never know, really. Your human standards have been rather frustrating to comprehend." He said, hopefully not causing a scene, but he did begin to approach her. "A lot of it is nonsense. Just complete nonsense. From flowers, to dresses, and jewelry.. All emotional drivel, but I wanted to ensure proper protocol was maintained for what occured. I may not do this again." He raised his voice a little in the exchange before taking a deep breath and regained his composure, returning to being calm as he normally was.

"I got you a gift as a gesture of my gratitude for our double date. If it is not the appropriate time for such things, I can give it to you later."

"I know, I can see the future, Nudimsu," she said calmly.

"Well, that makes it easier, then." He pulled out a small bag and moved towards her and handed it to her. "You already know if you'll like it."

"Thank you, I shall cherish this token of your attentions," she said calmly. She opened it and then added, "You have done well. Thank you."

"I considered a proper gift in return, but given your sensibilities I can offer only a secret." She kissed his cheek and then turned on her heels to follow the flow outside.

And with that he just stood there, looking stunned. Not really sure how to process what just occurred. Like his brain had just shut down for a few moments and was already working thru the reboot as she began to walk off, his face turned a bright shade of purple as he put up his hood once more. "Ju...just what is that secret?" Maybe he could find out later. Yes. After he calmed down. Yeah. Needed to calm down. He took a few steps and tripped over literally nothing. "This rubble. All around me. What a mess." His voice broke a little as he spoke to absolutely nobody and he looked around, still very much keeping his hood on and incredibly unsure of what to do next, just stared at her walking off.

[Blai Frayus]

Blai had arrived with Galen and the others coming from the Museum in the Thul shuttle ( ) and kept by her side as the end of the attempted coup unfolded, but his player was afk for most of the time, and his presence was mostly uneventful and unimportant
