Flower Court was upon the festival and a local Panteer citizen named Flori Guza was crowned the Flower Queen at Dawn ad would reign until sundown when the crown would be returned to Queen Panteer. Her decree for the day was that the children must have sweet treats and that they should bring the children and the young people delicious things to eat.

Jameela was present handing out sweet cakes from a stall she was running, Lana Beniko was in the back of the stall decorating the cakes.

What's the difficulty on these rolls?

Are we allowed to make up what's on the big space yacht, within reason? We know there's a dining area and some sort of hall/theater, but I was thinking other high class things like a bar, an upscale casino area, maybe a hot tub or sauna, a glass view deck, a jizz lounge... that sort of stuff.

Am I right in assuming the Animal Empathy talent ("Add FR dice to checks to handle/tame animals. Spend Pips for Successes or Advantages) is applicable to all rolls in the race?

EDIT: Adding one more - I'm assuming Intense Focus would still use Strain from the Pilot and not the Thranta, right?

So only for Basic Control, then? Asking again b/c the Talent description doesn't specifically mention the Survival skill, and it really looked like the time to shine for animal lovers

The complete description is as below (F&D page 139):

"Force Talent: When making checks to handle, tame or control animals, the character may add a number of Force Dice no greater than his Force rating to the check. The character may spend Light/Dark pips to add Successes or Advantages (character's choice) to the result."

Also an additional question - I don't suppose the Species Database would help with the We are One Xenology check?

Considering Basic Control is the most common roll I find that fair, the other rolls are somewhat control but more suggestions to the thranta, I find it fair to give a huge boost to the most common skill used.

I will think it over, let you know before the race on my final decision.

Do you need to have the database in hand because you will be racing around, if not then sure.

Thanks for considering it As it's more situational than things like the Hunters' boosts to 'all animal-related rolls' or other effects that affect all rolls with a skill (like Enhance), I felt it might make sense for now - but excited for the race and I'll be happy with it one way or another! XD

As for the Species Database, the whole description goes like this:

"Every encounter with a new species offers the possibility of biological offense, embarrassment, or even accidental poisoning. To avoid this, many organizations equip their diplomats with custom-built datapads loaded with specific biological details of every known species. In theory, such compendiums help operatives avoid injuring a sensitive body part or inadvertently wearing a known allergen as floral decoration. Cynical individuals have noted, however, that such information can also be used for more nefarious purposes. Most species databases also contain cursory cultural notes, but the core focus of such texts is biology rather than historical or societal studies.

A character using a species database adds 2 Boosts to Knowledge (Xenology) checks."

So it doesn't specifically mention you have to have it on you, although it mentions "using" it. I could imagine reading about Thrantas right before the race might grant the bonus, but it's ultimately your call
