[Day 5 - MM] Root Stew Anyone?

[Baesal Zyn]

''Unless they have a stealth satellite spying on us...drones overhead or in the trees'' she shrugs ''I can tell you several ways a dedicated force could still be spying on us via technological means.''

She tapped the data pad in her pocket

''I am gonna take notes anyway. We can't live in fear''

She turned to Thy and shrugged

''I thought you knew...or at least had our contact info.''

[Katarzyna Ulgo]

Kat nodded with appriciation to Zayne and Tethys.

"I disassembled my own comm before flying out here. It's over on the thranta's saddle in the pack there." Which was well out of audio-range, as the thranta was happy to keep to itself away from the gathering, as it was exploring some of the trees near where it had been tethered. "Nothing else but my lightsaber on me that has electronics. Datapad is back in my room."

She could eat some of the root-stew instead though as the others followed Tethys' direction.

"... I thought you knew, Thy?" She was surprised at least, and had just assumed Thy was just not a text-messaging person like herself.

[Zayne Rist]

"You would be surprised what Rist spies can do. And, I would not be at all surprised if there at least one or two spies here now." He said towards the direction of Baesal

Thy smiled and said, "Well if they want some stew they just need to come out and ask. But let's leave the crazy paranoia be for now."

[Zayne Rist]

He smiled. "Yes, perhaps you are right. I may be a bit paranoia. But, the life of an arbiter, a certain amount of paranoia is good." He chuckled to himself.

[Alysele Organa]

Aly joined the group as well. "My comm is back at the castle." She stated matter of factly, a dark expression on her face. She glanced toward Layne....and smiled kindly. "This is certainly not the festival of yesteryear, for sure."

[Layne Hoshin]

Layne had just been quiet the whole time; letting people talk for a bit about secure communications and what not. She thought she'd sent things in code and what not, too. But... oh well.

"People used to tell me I keep things to myself too much," she said with a shrug, "so I figured I'd better keep you guys in the loop this time around. Most of what came from my account is true. It's just that last one that's false, with the images of potential agents? Everything before that is true."

When Alysele joined, Layne's expression didn't really change, although she didn't look in the other Jedi's direction either. She figured that whole thing would probably get brought up by someone *at some point* during this conversation, but she didn't feel like being the one to do it herself right now.

[Breela Po]

Breela came through the brush after receiving an invitation from Layne to meet up and touch base. "Oh! Hello everyone good to see you." She saw Master Yulani and turned off her comlink. Then she bowed, "it's been a while. Good to see you! I hadn't heard that you were on Alderaan. Had I known I would have stopped in for a visit." It's strange for Breela to regard Thy as a master, considering she would have known both her and Satele as padawans.

Continuity edit: Satele & Thy would be roughly 10 years older than Breela, but Farghul mature a little less than 10 years quicker than humans. Either way they were contemporaries and likely friends before the whole King Kun thing.

[Dapper Dog]

"It's okay Breela, I like it out here, apparently I missed something big though," she said. "I hope this isn't because of my trip to Delaya."

[Baesal Zyn]

''Ha! HA!'' she clapped her hand ''Knew it! How were things there? Was there really a mando named Mondo?''

"Oh yes, that part is true," Thy replied.

[Baesal Zyn]

''Well paint me shocked''

She was a bit surprised

''I guess we can investigate that guy now.''

She frowned and looked around

''So...are we supposed to talk about anything now or are we just enjoying stew?''

[Breela Po]

"It's okay Breela, I like it out here, apparently I missed something big though," she said. "I hope this isn't because of my trip to Delaya."

''Ha! HA!'' she clapped her hand ''Knew it! How were things there? Was there really a mando named Mondo?''

"Ummm, that makes two of us."

''So...are we supposed to talk about anything now or are we just enjoying stew?''

"Yes, any news on the Killik artefact, Julio, or maybe the Blackguard?" She happily helps herself to some stew, even though it was an odd thing to have for breakfast. "Or maybe we have names now to indicate where this conspiracy stems from. For once I'm not seeing Sith." She blows and takes a bite. "Delicious!"

[Alysele Organa]

"Based on the group chat I will invite Thy to after today's meeting" she flashed a quick smile. "Quite a few things. Plots, schemes, plans to instigate a civil war...did I miss anything else?" She figured Layne supposedly laying with her husband would not be a topic most people are interested in.

Probably.

[Breela Po]

Breela is confusion. "There's a group chat?"

Lunda arrived via thranta and just watched quietly.

[Layne Hoshin]

"You went to Delaya too?" Layne looked confused, scratching the back of her head for a moment.

"I guess I can start. Some of this I already mentioned in the chat, but better to all go over it again here. So... after our last meeting I went out and investigated my whole vendetta thing. I ended up learning the woman I was accused of killing, Vidara Rist, sister of the Duchess, was the student of Galen Rist, and connected to another figure whom I later learned was supposed to be an imperial spy. This is Delmi Koor's long lost mother, who was supposed to have died right around the time the Rist's did. Only, *both* Vidara and Delmi's mother turned out to still very much be alive. They'd faked their own deaths, being fully dedicated to this covert anti Jedi/Sith group even back then. We followed some leads to Delaya, first to a former SIS safehouse where Delmi's mother tried to blow us both up. We then followed up on the other lead by visiting a casino run by a Hutt who supposedly was working for 'the Cunning Man', who we think is also involved with this group somehow. The Hutt was dead when we got there, we had an encounter with Koor's mother again, who we managed to take into custody. Only, they'd taken Koor's SIS contact, one Theron Shan, hostage. So, Koor convinced me we should make an exchange. Let her mother go in exchange for Theron and some intel. We did get Theron back. As for the intel... it's not much. Just two pictures labelled Blackkat something and House Rist. I uh... had some help from Captain Alderaan... and we got back hits on them. One being a Bryson Rist, computer analyst. And the other came up as one Hyta Jung. I'm going to go check on this Bryson a little later."

There was a brief pause. "Oh, the vendetta is off, by the way. Apparently House Rist 'apologizes', and they figured out their sister's alive on their own. Though, they seemed unaware of these anti-jedi activities of her and when I started talking about it, the call was interrupted and blocked. I'm guessing this Bryson's responsible for that."

[Katarzyna Ulgo]

Kat watched things unfold, feeling an internal sigh build. It hadn't been an unreasonable request from Tethys, she felt, and this was how it was responded to. And Breela who was not a Jedi was here again... was this a source of security concern as well?

"It's good that you listened and seek to improve on that," she said to Layne, her tone soft, "but I think we've all learned a lesson now in not oversharing over comms, yes? I would've gladly met with you if you sent a message asking to speak about something important." Kat took a deep breath. "What's done is done, and we cannot change that. Only learn from the past and continue to move forward."

Then Layne retold the events of yesterday, which did give a fuller picture of what was going on. And connected the dots on some things Niall had shared with her too.

"I see. Thank you," she nodded, then looked to Baesal to elaborate on her messages.

[Breela Po]

"Do you have the pictures of Hyta Jung or Bryson Rist?" Breela said interested, "I might have run into one or both of them in my own search."

[Baesal Zyn]

The togruta struggled to not roll her eyes at Kat's sanctimony but she did manage to do it. She just gave a nod and smile to Layne to indicate she thought her friend didn't do anything wrong.

As for Breela's question

''I do not know about any Julio or the Black Guards but Thy saved the artefact and it's thief from the hired goons who kidnapped him. The artefact is being currently studied but there is more research to be done. For his own security the SIS holds the theif.''

She paused to take note of something

''We are likely returning to the black hounds lair today. I am dead certain sith alchemy was involved somehow.''
