[D6 EE] Uptown Girl

[Garth Wayne Ulgo]

Garth had dressed classy, well classy by his standards. He had even managed to spend the afternoon plucking a bouquet of flowers for Miyi before he approached the chalet. Unfortunately his anticipation and the two litres of kaff running through his system hadn't quite quelled the fatigue of a late night and an early morning.

But it would take more than sleep deprivation to keep him away tonight. He rang the bell and waited patiently.

[Dapper Dog]

A droid showed him to the main dining hall where a spread of food was on the table and Xero waited patiently standing by the table. He said, "Lord Ulgo, so glad of you to join us."

"Well how could ah refuse such a generous inv'tation, m'Lord." Garth states politely.

"Ah only hope ah di'n cause ye too much trouble?" He asks as his eyes glance over the laden table, the flowers gently held in the crook of his arm.

[Dapper Dog]

"Only lost two servants in the preparation of this feast, rather good," they replied.

[Garth Wayne Ulgo]

"Ah hope they weren't too valuable, good help's hard t' find." Garth quipped back, assuming Xero was joking.

“Don’t encourage Xero, othey might have me show you where we buried the bodies,” Miyi said coming down the stairs in an elegant gown. She stayed by Xero and kissed the mask on the cheek and then approached Garth and said, “Thank you for coming, Xero has been cooking all day like a mad person.”

“Can I have the droids bring you a drink?” she asked.

“Don’t encourage Xero, othey might have me show you where we buried the bodies,” Miyi said coming down the stairs in an elegant gown. She stayed by Xero and kissed the mask on the cheek and then approached Garth and said, “Thank you for coming, Xero has been cooking all day like a mad person.”

"Ah'm sure Lord Xero wouldn' so easily share such priv'liged information with an outsider." Garth teased back, as his eyes drank in the sight of the beauty before him.

"And from what ah could see online, our gracious host loves t' cook almost as much as he loves his child. Although there's been a load o' misinformation on the holo lately so..."

Extending his arm, Garth offers forth the small bouquet of purple lilies he plucked earlier this afternoon. "A small gift of gratitude, fer this int'mate moment."

She smiled and then found her seat. Xero said, "Please have a seat and the meal can begin."

With a bow of acknowledgment, Garth let the droid show him to his seat and laid the napkin in his lap.

"Ah here th' investigation is over?" He asks, starting the dinner conversation. "Must be a relief t' receive yer deserved vindication?"

[Dapper Dog]

"I take no joy in having to prove our innocence, but vindication is a positive," Xero responded. "Please enjoy the meal."

The spread is wonderful with light appetizers, a well prepared main course of Nerf meat grilled and seasoned with mixed vegetables and a tasty and herbal soup and finished with a layered cake with sweet blue cream frosting. Miyi enjoys the meal while Xero does not eat but sometimes moves their forks or other utensils.

Garth uses his best table manners and even manages not to slurp his soup or chew with his mouth open as he enjoys the fancy spread.

"You've out done yerself, Lord Xero, this is truly magnif'cent." He compliments Xero after finishing the soup course and trying the nerf.

"Ah didn' see y' at the cruise last night Miyi, did you get to go along?" HE asked between bites, making a little small talk.

"I had House business to deal with, how was it? I know it's a wonderful time and the ship is amazing," she responded.

[Dapper Dog]

Xero said, "Thank you Lord Ulgo, it was a labor of love."

[Garth Wayne Ulgo]

"It was nice, ran int' Queen Solara, she helped me get that permit we were discussin'." Garth answered Miyi before sipping at his wine.

"Please Lord Xero, call me Garth. Ah have great r'spect fer yer talents in th' culinary arts, ah'm grateful you shared those talents wi' me."

"Good, well as is Thul custom once you eat the nerf you are now officially married to my dear Miyi, I expect children post haste," they responded.

Garth's fork stops for a second, a long second, before he looks over to Miyi. Then slowly and deliberately, he stabs another piece of nerf and lifts it to his lips.

She laughed and said, "I told you he would eat it."

[Dapper Dog]

"Sadly that cultural detail is many centuries out of date," they said.

Chewing, and swallowing gave Garth a few seconds to think, When he spoke it was with a twinkle in his eye, but a serious voice.

"Well, what is this fest'val about if not honorin' ancient traditions? Where we came from is just as import'nt as where we're goin'."

"Serious, focused..." Xero said.
