[D6 MM] Safe as (Assassin's) Houses (Rist Estates)

[Kellen Rist]

Kellen felt surprisingly spry considering the events of the previous night. He started his day late but with a run around the grounds. Then he got cleaned up and went to the guest quarters to see how Verash and Yil were feeling this morning. Kellen had called housekeeping to ask them to provide clean clothes suitable for Noble guests. He also sent messages to his fellow Rists to let them know about the attack they had survived on Delaya.

Approaching the guest rooms he knocked politely. "Good morning, it's Kellen." Then he stepped back and waited, lost in his own thoughts.

[Gil Corren]

Gil was a few steps behind Kellen, watching the other man as he approached the door.

He wasn't concerned with Kellen's safety around the jedi. But it was still good to keep an eye out.

[Omandri Rist]

Omandri for his part was there, but just barely. He sipped a caf as he walked with them. He had gotten the notice from Kellen and grudgingly left his bed, and company, to see what was going on at home. For now he simply observed not able to muster the energy for his usual friendliness.

Verash was having tea when Kellen checked on her. She rose and said, “My merchandise is enroute to Delaya, is there anywhere I could use to make a quick holo-call?”

[Zayne Rist]

Zayne was on a going early, he had been practicing his lightsaber forms. He opened the door to see Kellen. "Hello." He said quietly to not disturb the other guests.

[Kellen Rist]

Gil was a few steps behind Kellen, watching the other man as he approached the door.

He wasn't concerned with Kellen's safety around the jedi. But it was still good to keep an eye out.

"Thanks for coming Gil. My little trip to Delaya ended up being a bit more exciting than expected." He offered an apologetic smile. Omandri seemed to be under a cloud of funk, but without the dancing or baseline. He nodded but didn't probe the darkness just yet.

Verash was having tea when Kellen checked on her. She rose and said, “My merchandise is enroute to Delaya, is there anywhere I could use to make a quick holo-call?”

"Of course, there is a guest holo station through here." Kellen showed her to another of the guest rooms and returned to find Zayne had arrived.

"Thank you all for coming. This stolen vase mystery has turned into something rather more than just a spot of relic-based larceny."

[Zayne Rist]

"Okay, I may be out of the loop the last few days with the Jedi work I have been doing to keep Layne alive for a few more days at least. But, I am willing to help with this, whatever type of 'negotiating' need to be done." He said, with his lightsaber hilt in his hand.

[Gil Corren]

Gil offered a nod to Kellen at his words, but kept silent for the moment to listen. A lot of talking on his part wasn't likely to do much good at the moment.

Verash was thankful and went to go make her call.

With Verash out of the room Kellen filled in the others on the events of the previous 24 hours.

"So to recap: The Alde Royal Museum decided to sell the relic to Countess Verash Organa despite my protests. So there must be a lot of money involved. I decided to visit the Countest on Delaya in person to protest." He looked at Gil. "I should have told you but I brought Padawan Yil, not really expecting trouble. The Countess was much more reasonable than I expected and offered full access to all the vases. There are three in the set, she owns the other two."

He started looking around for a kaff dispenser. "At which point we were attacked by mercenaries and managed a daring escape. I decided this was the safest place to be and got everyone on a shuttle back home."

[Dapper Dog]

Bryson came in on Holo to listen and said, "Well that's a bit over kill. I swear Ghoun gets worst every year... not that Verash is any better. So what's our stake in this?"

[Kellen Rist]

Kellen raised the mug of kaff he had eventually found in greeting. "Thanks for joining Bryson. I think there are a few pieces to this that merit our involvement.

1. Ghoun Rist. His obsession with this item makes me think he knows something about it, and possibly the set, that no-one else does. Even if this is just about getting one over on Verash all the explosions and such make the family look bad, which is why you are all here.

2. The vase itself. I examined it carefully. It dates to the earliest Human settlement of Alderaan. There were traces of foodstuffs but nothing more exotic than that. Maybe there is something more to it, but I'm not yet sure what it could be. I think I need to see the full set together, which the Countess agreed to without putting up a fight.

3. Our mysterious benefactor. Who returned the vase to me and why? Should I contact them to ask? Perhaps they have important information that they would be willing to share?"

He gestured to the group. "So I appreciate you coming here this morning. Any thoughts?"

[Dapper Dog]

"Ghoun Rist needs to answer some questions, this feud is getting out of hand if explosions are involved," he said honestly.

[Zayne Rist]

"Oh, so more drama to deal with. Vendetta with the Duchess and Layne a few days ago. A woman inciting discord among the Jedi yesterday. And this thing whit Ghoun. What do I get for an encore?" He said sarcastically.

[Kellen Rist]

"And to think I was told that academia would be boring for a Rist." He smirked at Zayne.

"Yes Bryson, I agree. I think he was likely behind yesterday's attack, so I would like to pay him a visit. With backup. I've already had to punch one mercenary to death."

[Gil Corren]

Kellen would have back up, though Gil wasn't entirely happy about a potential fued between a pair of Rists. "Just tell me when and where." He offered simply.

[Zayne Rist]

"I am negotiator normally, most Rists would be bored of my profession as well." He said to Kellen. "Although, I do have this laser sword, and people here think I am a war hero." He said with a laugh.

[Omandri Rist]

Omandri took in the information with a nod "you already know I'm good for back up cousin. Though let's try not to punch anyone to death if we can avoid. Especially family."

[Dapper Dog]

"I hope people were not going to go in blasters blazing? Make him see reason if not well we pass the matter onto the Duchess, and that will fix itself," Bryson added.

[Kellen Rist]

"He was perfectly pleasant when I spoke with him. I hope that he will remain so with family." Kellen nodded. "Agreed Bryson. Presumably he sent those mercenaries after Verash here, but that meant they attacked me and Padawan Yil."
