A Look Around (Day 4 Late morning)

[Gil Corren]

"My Family has served house Rist for generations, so I've had an idea of how it worked from a fairly young age." Gil admitted with a small shrug. "Seen it enough times at least, and heard talks of it more then that." He smirked, smiles didn't fit hsi face esecially well though. "It does seem some have managed to find romance at least though."

[Cynella Andrim]

"It's the same as any other familial expectations, from what I've seen. In that way, we're not so different." She pursed her lips. "Really, when you think about it, there's nothing innately that special about nobility, is there? Just what we place on people such as myself."

[Gil Corren]

"Well, I'll leave any comments about such to you, Lady Cynella." Gil replied his lips twitching into a slight smile. "I've found it wise to avoid speculating on such myself."

"Though I would also say that placing that sort of expectations on most people would see them failing. So there is at least something a little special there."

[Cynella Andrim]

"Ah, I imagine avoiding such speculation is a good way to stay out of trouble, isn't it?" Cynella smiled for the two of them. "Though I don't think we should fear failure as, well, a galactic civilization. Failure can teach us what our failings are."

[Gil Corren]

"Just that." Gil replied a bit of amusement evident in his tone, though it took on a more serious note a few moments later. "There is much we can learn from failure, about ourselves and our failings. I will say there are times when failure is simply not an option though when the stakes are high and you need to succeed."

"It's not really something you encounter on the daily though."

[Cynella Andrim]

"Ah, yes. I suppose there are those times when failure isn't allowed to happen." She shook her head. "My life hasn't had too many of those situations. I'm not so sure if the same can be said about you. It probably comes off as naive that I wish I had more of them then."

[Gil Corren]

"No more then my fair share as far as I can figure it." Most of it back in his days with the military. "Though naive or not I can understand the sentiment. To try and get some experiences like that was why my father insiisted on me doing a tour of duty with the Republic back during the war." Though things hadn't quite gone to his plan with the temporary peace treaty.

"It teached you a bit about yourself, if nothing else."

[Cynella Andrim]

"Ah. If only either of my parents had the same outlook as your father," she said with a soft sigh. "I won't force you to repeat any stories, though I'm always an open ear for them. There's a lot of wisdom in those to be found, not to mention the entertainment value, of course."

[Gil Corren]

"War stories and the like are better traded late in the evening, over drinks or something." Gil replied with a shrug. "If you're really interested."

"As for my father, he has his good points. I think the same can be said for most though."

[Cynella Andrim]

Cynella smirked. "Okay, sure, we'll have a drink sometime, though I hope you meant as friends. You've been charming thus far but I must be marrying a noble due to this trip. Familial obligations, that sort of thing." Whether or not she regretted that wasn't something she tried to show in her tone.

"Parents do the best they can, so I've heard. I'm sure I'll bother my children in some way down the line."

[Gil Corren]

He almost smiled, and had to cover his mouth before he did. There was a bit of a chuckle that rolled from his lips though. "Friends is what I had in mind, at least for myself, Lady Cynella. Though if I was honest, I was thinking of inviting a guest if it wasn't too much. Lord Kellen Rist, I don't know if you have met, but he is here for similar reasons, and at the very least he will have a few war stories we may convince him to share."

He nodded at her later words. "I think that is just part and parcel of being a parent."

[Cynella Andrim]

"Lord Kellen Rist?" Cynella asked with a pleasant smile. "I've met him, though I can't say I know him very well. I had no idea that he was a military man on top of being a professor. That's an impressive resume."

[Gil Corren]

"I wouldn't say he is a military man exactly, but he does know his way around a fight." Gil replied with a shrug. "He helped in some of the fighting here a few years back, and the archleogical work he does can get kind of rough."

"There are plenty of theives and tomb raiders looking to make a quick buck off history after all."

[Cynella Andrim]

"Ah, I see. More out of necessity than an official role. Admirable all the same." She tilted her head. "But is it really like those holovids? Dastardly villains storming dig sites? Perhaps a more formalized military contingent is required for these expeditions."

[Gil Corren]

"Well, he could answer that question better then i." Gil replied with a shrug. "I've usually have enough on my plate to avoid chasing archeologists across the galaxy."

[Cynella Andrim]

Cynella nodded. "I see, I see. I would've thought he'd need your protection over in dangerous sites but perhaps he's able to handle himself. It's a good trait in a man, you know," she said with a wink. "Her Highness, Princess Jameela, is lucky to have him as a choice."

[Gil Corren]

"She is indeed, though she really can only make one choice." And he figured that Kellen wasn't in the top spot for it. He seemed to spend more time on his archelogy then trying to win the Princesses hand. "Still if you're intrested I can set things up. A few days from now maybe?"

[Cynella Andrim]

"So must Prince Joran, so I'm told," she said with a faint smile. "But yes. I'd love the opportunity to spend more time with you and Professor Rist."

[Gil Corren]

"True, and while he might make a wise one, you never know." Gil replied with a small shrug.

"I'll set something up though and let you know a time."

[Cynella Andrim]

Cynella smirked. "Oh we shouldn't doubt His Highness' decision making. But that aside, yes, I'd most appreciate you contacting me back on the matter." She pulled out one of her business cards, fully displaying her names, job title, all of that.
