Hopefully, their earlier excursion had made Tyche appreciate the way Layne did things a little more. At the very least, understand the tactics and the point behind them better. The girl was genuinely quite scary when she wanted to be; and was probably looking around the room in a manner suggesting she was about to do some damage, adding ample weight to Layne's words.

Bryson said, “I won’t get into details but we are working with House Ulgo to make sure Thul does not act against the Crown. If that means generating false information to turn the Crown against them so be it, all is fair in love and politics.”

“Now, I have other things to do and unless you are here to arrest, I am running late for a meeting with my Duchess.”

''You are willing to risk your house in a gamble Bryson?'' The togruta finally speaks ''You are holding out on us. I suspect you know of whom we speak even if your do not know the name of the Star Cabal.''

She frowns

''We seek the peace of Alderaan but they to not. Tell us about them, please.''

“Like I said, I don’t know any Star Cabal, I have worked with people that skirt the law but that’s a House Rist specialty. As for Alderaan, if you want peace then you need to find a way to shove Thul off-planet or get Duke Ulgo what he wants, otherwise war is coming, master Jedi,” he said pausing at the door.

“I’m not the bad guy here, there are no bad guys here except Thul, and to a lesser extent Panteer for bringing Thul back to Alderaan.”

“I am not part of a conspiracy anymore so than anything else I have to do for House Rist, but I am a proud member of my house. I will lie, cheat, and steal for the Duchess. My loyalty is complete. My conscious is clear.”

He departed unless forcibly stopped.

She would get up, and hold a hand to her darksaber. She was genuinely getting tired of this; and a big part of her wanted to just take him in by force.

But instead she gave a pointed look to Omandri. As if expecting him to intervene. If there was going to be a more satisfying conclusion here; he was the only one who could get there now, it seemed.

Omandri sighed he had wanted to be here but was really hoping it wouldnt come down to him to get stuff done "Bryson wait." the doctor spoke up "I get it, I understand loyalty to the house, to the duchess trust me i was raised with those values in my blood. I don't see eye to eye with Giandra and I'm not there very often so i understand why it might seem suspect for me to be talking about loyalty." he took a breath "But please if you know anything that will get us closer to Vidara please tell us. I don't care about conspiracies, or cabals, or honestly the war at this point." his voice was strained a little an almost pleading, urgent quality to it "I just want to find my sister, before its too late."

“Omandri, if I knew I would have told you. I swear, family is important to me and I passed on the information we got from House Ulgo to your sister that implicated the Jedi. I was just as shocked as anyone else to find she might be alive. My guess is she does not want to be found,” he said.

“If you want to find out, you can reach out the Cunning Man, he’s been a reliable if dangerous contact in the past,” he handed off to a data chit to Omandri.

“But if you go down that road, use caution, they are dangerous in the extreme.”

"I don't ask those kinds of questions, that tends to be bad for your health, master Jedi. They have information or people, sometimes we have need of that. I did business with them for the betterment of Alderaan, but I won't cross him," he said.

"Not even you can protect someone that the Cunning Man wants dead."

[Baesal Zyn]

''One of their agent already gave your name up Bryson. If they are so dangerous how long will you survive?'' She says hoping they will get something out

''You may wish the betterment of Alderaan but they don't. They have their own agenda and Alderaan will be a casualty. You said your devotion to your family is absolute...we can help make sure House Rist does not suffer backlash from the cunning man's schemes. If you do not wish to share with us then at least share it with your family.''

[Omandri Rist]

Omandri took the data from Bryson with a nod "Thank you Bryson. You're a good man I know that, there's just a lot of moving pieces here. Stuff that might be bigger than Alderaan. Just stay safe alright." He said as he extended a hand out for the other man to take. He had no way of knowing this would be the last time he ever saw Bryson alive.

He chuckled darkly and said, “Probably not long then, but that is the business we do. You play the game till the game plays you, master Jedi. I have work to do, might as well make the best of what time I have left.”

“Good luck finding Vidara, Omandri.” He departed after shaking his friend's hand.

She sighed. Nobles really were an infuriating lot most of the time. She made a big theatrical shrug when Bryson left.

"It's not just me, right?"

Omandri watched him go and then turned to Layne "Not just you what?" He asked curiously as he pocketed the data stick walking closer to the jedi.

"I just really feel like I'm actually not the unreasonable one here," she said with a shrug, then nodded at the data stick in his hands. "You want to share what's on there?"

[Omandri Rist]

Omandri gave her a small smile "most people who are being unreasonable dont think they are or they wouldn't act the way they do." He said with a little wink "though if it counts for anything I think you were more reasonable today than you were at the estate."

"As for the data stick I'm figuring it's just contact information for this Cunning Man. That name mean anything to you two?" He asked looking between the jedi.
