Mama’s Resting Place (Pre-game, LA)

[Delmi Koor]

Delmi walked up towards the towering estate as wind blew her cape softly around her. The blue of her uniform stood out among the lands which still seemed to be recovering from some serious damage years before.

They got this total… bad guy vibe thing down. Wait… does this mean I am one of the baddies now?

She looked down at her datapad and checked her coordinates. Seeing that this is where she was asked to come she stopped and looked around to see if there was a welcoming party incoming.

There was a single man with a mask or helmet… or maybe a prosthetic head piece in a sharp suit waiting for her under a tree. Once he saw Delmi he made his way down the slight hillock towards the woman and said in a digital modulated voice, “Good afternoon you must be, Miss Koor?”

“Xero Thul, but just Xero will suffice.”

[Delmi Koor]

She nodded at her name in confirmation.

“Xero? Cool. You can call me Delmi then.”

She clasped her hands behind her back and started looking around.

“So what we looking at Mr. Xero?”

[Dapper Dog]

"Right now just a tree on a hill, I assume you want to get to the heart of the matter?" he responded to the woman.

[Delmi Koor]

“Yeah.” She said with a nod.

“Yeah, that’d be great.” She started following the man.

“You uhh… know her?” Delmi asked the man who looked totally like a sneaky type who might’ve known her mother.

[Dapper Dog]

Xero started across the open green field towards a grove of fruit trees and what looked like a small pond at the center. He responded to her question in turn with the same digitally modulated voice, “I did, I knew her.”

[Delmi Koor]

"That's cool... cool. You're the first person I've met who has." She said as she looked at the trees and the pond.

"So... uhh... what was she like when you knew her?"

[Dapper Dog]

"What do you know about her?" he responded, turning his 'face' to her as they walked.

[Delmi Koor]

She tilted her head. "Not much... I was real little when she went away. Dad never talked about her that much... but when he did it was always..."

She paused, "I don't know... like how you talk about someone when you miss them."

She pulled a small locket out of her pocket, "He gave me this. It has her holo-pic in it."

She flipped open the device revealing a picture of her mother.

[Dapper Dog]

“We were coworkers, so my attachment to her is much less personal. But she was a professional when I knew her,” he responded.

He adjusted his view to the image and then turned back to focusing on the path ahead and said, “I was not aware she was married, but then again it really did not occur to me to ask at the time. The work came first.”

[Delmi Koor]

"I see..." She nodded.

"So you were a work associate... So she was like an associate for House Thul or something? Or is this a new job for you?"

[Dapper Dog]

“She was a little more than an Associate,” he said cryptically before stopping by a pile of stones at the edge of the pond.

“This is where we buried her all those years ago, according to the records at least.”

[Delmi Koor]

She glanced over at the first comment to try and check out the expression it was said with... before remembering that was a total waste.

She stepped a couple of steps in front of Xero towards the pile of stones. She stood silently in front of the stones with her hands still clasped behind her back. Eventually she squatted down and reached out and touched one of the stones.

"So... who was she? What uhh... happened to her?"

[Dapper Dog]

“Records say it was a contract gone awry, normal in our line of business. It was a solo operation; I can’t really go into more details but I can say it was a violent end. Per her wishes we buried her here. Perhaps in time I can get you access to her effects, that would have to be approved by Duchess Thul,” he said.

[Delmi Koor]

Delmi nodded. Her gaze lingered on the stones.

“Yeah… anything you can… uhh… do, would be great.”

She stood slowly, “She’s uhh… been on my mind for a while. It’d be nice to know whatever I can.”

She reached down and brushed off some dirt from her uniform.

“I’m sure the Duchess is gonna be busy over the next couple weeks… This is a pretty big event around these parts I hear.”

[Dapper Dog]

“We will see,” he said on the matter of the Duchess.

“What brought her to mind, Miss Koor?” he asked.

[Delmi Koor]

Delmi tilted her head slightly as she thought for a moment.

This is probably one of them 'tests' Theron was mentioning.

"Uhh... you know. Mind goes places. It's been about ten-eleven years since my dad died. Been on my own since then... Wasn't the easiest teenage years... So you kinda get to wondering what happened. Then a few years ago, I heard about her being dead... but with the fighting and all; couldn't really find time to get out here."

[Dapper Dog]

“Well your father would be proud from all accounts, you served with distinction on Bankor and have become something of a recruiting tool, not to mention your service with Havoc squad. Still, working for House Thul will require more of you, questions?” he asked in that digital voice.

[Delmi Koor]

"Uhh... yeah. What is it you all need from me?" She asked.

"Your communication mentioned something about being a 'Specialist'?"

[Dapper Dog]

“Yes, it did.”

He continued gesturing with his hands as he spoke, “House Thul recognizes that a person of your caliber is exactly the kind of individual we want associated with our name. You’ll be given a stipend, and even use the title of Lady, as long as you remain in good standing.”

“Given your skills, we do have an immediate use for them. Have you heard of killiks?”
