The shuttle ride was excruciatingly long. Just over a week from Coruscant! All because she chose to ride as a civilian. For all the harm and aggravation it brought - her life up until four years ago never afforded lengthy trips. Often times she travelled on a military bird. Other times she flew with smugglers. None of which travelled hyperspace lanes, preferring instead more direct routes.
First she had to check in with her handler upon arrival.
Jedi don't "retire" anymore. They either change sides, disappear, die on the battlefield, or... for lack of a better word... take time off. At the very least; every time she asks to leave, the council denies her request. Encouraging her to go to counseling, or take time meditating and coming to terms with her loss.
Kriffing out of touch geezers.
Then about a month or so ago she ran into a couple of old acquaintances: Alysele & Nialle Organa. At first it was all small talk, then came the heavy stuff. A nice meal and a few drinks later they'd extended her an invitation: come to Alderaan and train their guard, the council won't object to a vocation change.
And they might not have, had she cared enough to tell them. She might be 'stubborn as a bantha in rut' - but she could be sure that this was her decision, not theirs. And that was enough for now.
The second item on her agenda was to scope out her new home.

Re: (Closed) A Cat in a foreign land (Day 0, EA)
Not long into walking the stately streets and thoroughfares of Castle Organa. Breela noticed something that would once again take her some time to get used to: She was the only feline around. Which naturally meant that more than a few people eyed her curiously. Farghul were rare enough off of Farrfin, their reputation usually preceding them. But Coruscant had been filled with a large population of Bothan, Cathar, and Zygerrians. That had made her less of an oddity. Yet even without the reputation that all Farghul are con artists - most planets with heavy human populations tended towards xenophobia.
Strangely enough though, she didn't detect any ambivalence from the gawkers... a pleasant surprise to be sure.
At last, her curiosity sated, she stopped perusing the shops and restaurants and called her patrons. Neither of which had time to meet today. So instead they sent a steward to help her get settled in. Initially he offered to show her to her lodgings. She instead chose to see her new school's location. Which turned out to be a large storeroom with an office.
Sensing in the steward the fear of displeasure, she happily allayed his fears with a smile. This was more than enough to suit her needs.
All that needed doing was to pad the flooring, reinforce the walls, clean out and arrange the office, then throw up some shrubs or trees. Even the ceiling, she mused, was tall enough that she likely couldn't throw someone high enough to touch it... probably. Then again she did like a challenge.
At home on Coruscant she felt like a stranger in a foreign land. But here perhaps she could find the strength to start again.
