[Day 9 - EN] Running the Maze

[Cynella Andrim]

"Oh, now there's an ingenious idea. I'd imagine that it might become quite popular around here for its distinctive style and bold expression. You might have a following, especially if you're going to consider including your future friends too. As for Mount Joral," she said looking perhaps vaguely in the direction of her land. "The castle proper does have its share of rooms, more than enough in the warmer seasons when we do have guests over. My ancestors were probably expecting us to host a grand summit every year for all of House Alde and are perhaps a bit disappointed whenever it doesn't happen."

Aurilie smiled faintly, perhaps a touch concerned for Rhia's appetite for things cute and fleshy. "That's understandable that it's nowhere near the same thing, I suppose I'll have to wish that only I could be as adorable. However, perhaps hold on to our little friend for now and we'll just have to consider our options for the future."

She began to walk and offered her arm, leading them into the maze proper to participate in the custom. "There is our nerfling friend, who you'll likely get to see more than once a year now what you'll likely be moving to Mount Joral. Also, I had been thinking about getting some personal hunting hounds, rather than contracting them. Doctor Rist did make me consider a droid...but Mister Frayus had a compelling arguing for something furrier."

"I must admit," Cynella said with a wide grin, "I would very much enjoy if Ser Keyhote was able to join us. I imagine he will be busy with his hunts from time to time but I assume he'll always be welcome." She raised a brow. "Am I going to be wondering about what you two get up to?"

She gave it another boop and tilted her head. "Yes, I suppose we'll have to consider this further."

As they went through the maze, Cynella held on firmly as she recalled their last escapade. "Oh? So you really did go through with those arrangements. Was that before or after my proposal, hm?" She raised a brow. "A droid dog? Oh, by the stars, that's not nearly the same thing. A droid only knows loyalty because of its programming but a flesh and blood hound... those are truly special."

"I must admit," Cynella said with a wide grin, "I would very much enjoy if Ser Keyhote was able to join us. I imagine he will be busy with his hunts from time to time but I assume he'll always be welcome." She raised a brow. "Am I going to be wondering about what you two get up to?"

She gave it another boop and tilted her head. "Yes, I suppose we'll have to consider this further."

This is where I'll have to confess that I floated the idea of being the best man at my future wedding and I don't intend on skirting from my offer at all. And I get the feeling that our recent escapades haven't deterred him from going out and enjoying life, which admittedly will include some situations where he might risk it. I won't join him in all of his adventures but there will be some occasions that I will show my personal support by being there with him."

She looked at her with a smile. "You're more than welcome to join us but I promise that I'll keep in touch either way." This was said before she kissed her hand on an affectionate note.

"This was all before, I assure you," she said truthfully. After their time at the fair and Rhia's favour for the nerf, it seemed a bit cruel to leave him to be potentially turned into livestock by an unscrupulous carnie. The nerf wouldn't be living at the mountain Alde castle estate, however.

She chuckled at the feedback and nodded in acceptance. "Very well, then, let's go with a live hound. I may just seek Mister Frayus' counsel on the matter then."

"Do you have a room already laid out to accommodate, well, his Hutt-liness?" She could only imagine having to fill out a custom order for such a species on a Kuati freighter. But soon her mind was overtaken by other thoughts. "Ah, yes, I suppose he could be your best man," she continued with hesitancy. "Are you sure he'd settle for such a thing, though? Seemed like he wanted to officiate it." Which was even more of a nightmare situation. What was her family going to think of her intended having a Hutt at the wedding?

"I believe I'll have to, well, stay behind and longingly look at the sky as I wait for your return," she said with a wink. Hunting down animals still didn't seem too appealing to her.

Oh and by the stars she wanted to see that nerf again. "Will he be with his friends though? All those other nerfs?" At this rate, perhaps this was a bigger undertaking than the Prince of Joral had anticipated.

"I'm sure he'll prove to be wise in his counsel," she said with a firm nod. And with that, she fully expected to pet that hound with much gusto.

She gave an abrupt blink at the mention of the nerf...and his friends. "Well...that I might be less sure about. I know he'll surely have many new friends at the farm already. I'm not so sure the herder at the fair would want to part with the entire herd so easily," she said with an anxious chuckle.

Do you think having it at Mount Joral would be most proper or would another location be acceptable?" The latter, of course, opened up so, so many possibilities.

In response to the kiss, Cynella grinned and sent one of her classic winks Aurilie's way. "Ah but perhaps, from time to time, I'll have my hands full with children. That's not to say you'll be an absentee parent or anything... I'm sure you'll have to take care of ours down the line too." Hopefully Aurilie was on the same starship regarding children, them both having noble lineages to maintain!

"Hm, yes, I suppose it wouldn't do to leave him so empty-handed. If he's found himself new friends, though, I'm sure he'll be happy." She cusped her cheek with her free hand, deep in thought. "Although I wonder if he misses his mother. Oh, that'd be tragic..."

"Your family doesn't already find him being the best man a bit far-fetched?" Cynella asked, pressing her lips together. She then shook her head, hoping to get herself out of that funk. After all, Ser Keyhote made for wonderful company. "There will be much planning to be done regardless. I wonder where we should host it, for one. Do you think having it at Mount Joral would be most proper or would another location be acceptable?" The latter, of course, opened up so, so many possibilities.

In response to the kiss, Cynella grinned and sent one of her classic winks Aurilie's way. "Ah but perhaps, from time to time, I'll have my hands full with children. Hopefully Aurilie was on the same starship regarding children, them both having noble lineages to maintain!

"Mrm, well..." Aurilie murmured on a hesitative note as she considered this. It was perhaps a bit far-fetched to them that she found a wife, rather than a husband and one outside of the Alderaanian Houses too. There was some Correllian precedence in their family, however. She gave Cynella's hand a reassuring pat. "Yes, I think there will be much planning to be done and I'll just have to see how much leeway I have between my own wishes and the traditions of House Alde. I would imagine that holding it on Mount Joral would fulfill a lot of appeasement when it comes to the traditions of my family at the very least, give our ancestral grounds the large gathering it very much wanted. If not that, I imagine that my parents will try to get the reins on the reception and potentially even the choice of dress..."

She gave a dismissive shake of her head with a sigh as she patted her fiancé's hand once more. It was something they can concern themselves about later and hopefully something that Rhia wouldn't worry about. However, if it were up to her parents, she wondered if she would be obligated to wear a traditional big dress for her own wedding.

Her brows raised at the mention of the future children and she nodded firmly in commitment. "Of course! I think my hunting ventures can easily take a back seat once children are involved. One more trophy is insignificant in comparison. Perhaps we can consider family vacations instead of safaris."

"Uhm, I'm not so sure they keep the nerflings with their mother..." She said with a big blink of her eyes. "But that is something that I could look into if it will put you at ease, Lady Rhia. I'm sure my farmer contact could use another nerf on their nerf-wool farm."

This was slowly becoming a larger responsibility than she envisioned, to say the least.
