[Day 1 - EE] Suitor's Mixer RP Thread

[Dapper Dog]

The main hall of the Spring Palace was transformed into a flowering forest and lights mimicking bioluminescence. Both twins were present, Joran is a sharp uniform of the Panteer guard and Jameela is a beautiful green gown with a plunging back line that shifted various shades of green as she moved though she tended to stay near her mother who was dressed in one of her signature long gowns of white. Near to her side was Ziandra Thul and members of the Queen’s Guard and the Blackguard.

Anyone who was anyone was present at the mixer.

[Zeno Thul]

Ziandra sat by the queen, but Zeno sat in the crowd. He had a glass of wine on the table, as he sat cross-legged and watched the proceedings. He looks like he's trying to be approachable, but at the same time... black rings around yellow eyes... probably not too welcoming to most people.

[Dapper Dog]

Daz had been given the task of mingling with the people and sure he had not explicitly told his Master he had sliced the Panteer databanks to add his name to the suitor roster because it sounded whizz, but here he was. Of course the real funny part was that it was a a lot easier than expected or maybe he was just that good.

And then it happened just like all the other Suitors he was announced:

“His highness, Prince Daz Hoshin of the Independent World, Yah Boi, first of his name, Duke of Ali-Ababwa, Champion of the War of De’ez Nutz, and heir to the throne. We welcome this young Prince and Jedi to Alderaan.”

Daz blinked and then looked at Jameela and said, “Uh… ahem, Princess Jameela, I prince Daz Hoshin of Ya Boi and Jedi padawan of the Order do here pledge my service to you for the duration of my stay as your protector! This is my gift to you!”

[Jameela Panteer]

Jameela smiled with amusement and said, "I graciously accept your aid, Master Jedi."

[Archibald Serrus]

Hearing the announcement with the overly long moniker and jokey titles, Archie takes a drink from a food tray just far enough away to cover his mouth. He whispers to his assistant at the same time, "Are they not double checking their list before saying a name like that?"

[Zeno Thul]

Zeno chuckled at that. He expected that was the kind of thing he had to look forward to with his girls some day.

[Dapper Dog]

Jameela smiled with amusement and said, "I graciously accept your aid, Master Jedi."

He rose with a big cheesy smile, well that went better than expected.

[Garth Wayne Ulgo]

After a less than perfect presentation to the Panteer's, Garth thought keeping a slightly lower profile might be optimal for the rest of the mixer, as he watched with amusement at the young Jedi's actions.

[Jameela Panteer]

She smiled and said, "So where exactly is Ya Boi located, is that Wild Space? The Outer Rim?"

[Dapper Dog]

She smiled and said, "So where exactly is Ya Boi located, is that Wild Space? The Outer Rim?"

“Uhhh… well it’s like Mid Rim, it’s kind of off the normal hyperspace routes… like uh, way off, but it’s totally whizz,” he responded.

“Oh… I’ll get us drinks! Be right back.”

[Zeno Thul]

After a less than perfect presentation to the Panteer's, Garth thought keeping a slightly lower profile might be optimal for the rest of the mixer, as he watched with amusement at the young Jedi's actions.

Zeno grabbed his glass and made his way to where Garth was. He had very few opportunities to actually speak with members of House Ulgo. And this one seemed have a similar level of social proficiency.

"Good evening. It was Garth right?"

[Garth Wayne Ulgo]

Garth looked over the rim of his glass at the approaching individual and offered a slight nod.

"Yes, ah hope y'll f'rgive m' ignorance of yerself but ah'm new t' the planet and didn't see y' presented t' the dignitaries." He extends a hand in greeting.

[Zeno Thul]

"I got to sneak in under the radar by being here before they let others in. One of the benefits of being Ziandra's husband," he says with a smile. "I am Zeno, Duke-Consort of Thul. I suspect your family has warned you about me, and if not they will after see us speaking."

[Joran Panteer]

Riss looked like someone who didn't want to be here. It was in the way she walks, the way she looks around, and the way that her dress was clearly pulled out of some old trunk. It was probably eloquent once, a deep blue color that matched her appearance at the time but now clashes a little with the light tones of pink in her hair. As well, a cascader that she wore on her wrist which was sewn into a small cloth cuff that matched the color of whatever she was wearing, this time being a deep blue. Perhaps if it was a little lighter or her hair was a little darker it would have been perfect. However, as with most things connected to Riss they hardly were.

In a moment that appeared like an accident, even though it wasn't, Riss wound up stumbling into Joran during a rare moment in the mixer when he was alone. A pretty smile, a quick apology for bumping into him, they got to talking for awhile. Perhaps it was her more grounded view of the world, the experience she carried in what she saw, or maybe it was just that she was really pretty and knew how to work that, or maybe it was just that she always knew how to work toward getting someone to laugh. Regardless of what it was that inspired the connection the two hit it off for the time they had together.

Joran smile as he offered her a drink and said, "You know how to make an entrance, Miss..."

[Garth Wayne Ulgo]

"Sounds like y'll be surprised, though ah hope not offended, if ah say yer name ain't come up. As a pilot fer th' Navy though, ahm aware of one of yer kin, Miss Miyi. By reputation at least." Garth answers, seemingly unconcerned by what people might think of a Thul and Ulgo in conversation.

[Zeno Thul]

"Oh... the piloting days," he says with a wide smile. "I still like to go up every once in a while. But I haven't flown for the military since I was Imperial. Don't think the Republic would accept me, much less my wife permit me. It was a simpler time, but very short lived. Where have you flown?"

[Garth Wayne Ulgo]

"Ah were blooded over Tattooine 'bout 8 years ago now, not a fun baptism that one. Helped wi' the liberation of Bankor, th' rest, well....ah hope y'll f'rgive me f'r refusin' t' get specific. You bein' a former Imperial 'n all."

A sip of his drink as he glances to Zeno's wife then back at his conversation partner.

"Th' politics 's new t' me, but ah hear yer wife's quite close t' the ruling family, nice t'be well connected?"

[Riss]

Joran smile as he offered her a drink and said, "You know how to make an entrance, Miss..."

Taking the glass from the bottom, the stem between her middle and ring finger she smiles, "Riss," she chuckles, "has a nice ring to it when said like that, mm? You don't need much of an introduction though, considering everything going on here," she gives a gentle wave of the glass to indicate the room. "Hopefully more enjoyable than not?" she asks with a slight raise to the brow.

[Zeno Thul]

"Ah were blooded over Tattooine 'bout 8 years ago now, not a fun baptism that one. Helped wi' the liberation of Bankor, th' rest, well....ah hope y'll f'rgive me f'r refusin' t' get specific. You bein' a former Imperial 'n all."

A sip of his drink as he glances to Zeno's wife then back at his conversation partner.

"Th' politics 's new t' me, but ah hear yer wife's quite close t' the ruling family, nice t'be well connected?"

"Eh," he says with a shrug. "It makes some things easier and others harder. But the political games aren't where I excel. I'd rather fight my way through a problem, but that's not the way it's done here."

"I didn't have much time to actually serve between my graduation and my marriage. I may have been raised in the empire, but I honestly only served for a year before I was married and came to the Republic. And part of that was because I picked a fight with the wrong Sith."

[Garth Wayne Ulgo]

"Eh," he says with a shrug. "It makes some things easier and others harder. But the political games aren't where I excel. I'd rather fight my way through a problem, but that's not the way it's done here."

"You mean there's a right one t' pick a fight wit'?" Garth replies with a half smile. "But ah feel ya, this ain't exactly an approach that hits mah strength's neither. Things we do fer family though, am ah right?"
