Early Bird Gets the Drama [Day 1, MM]

[Riss]

Waking in the morning with everyone already accounted for the trip out toward where she needed to be was as easy as getting dressed again. Normally an arduous affair given Riss' distaste for the morning but this morning was different and the young woman was almost disciplined in her approach toward the day. Blaster on her hip she was dressed and ready to go, moving off into the spaceport with Kat as backup just in case things went way south. Moving through the way she found her way toward the coordinates with relative ease, even if she hated how difficult finding the exact right spot was.

[Katarzyna Ulgo]

Wearing her usual simple brown garbs of a Jedi, clean and tidy as always, Kat was on location and nearby. But not too nearby, as she was supposed to be the backup in case this was a kidnapping in process or something else entirely.

So she walked in at the spaceport, keeping a distance from Riss as she kept the pink-haired woman within her sight. For the moment she picked up an order of iced caf at one of the vendors, in an effort to blend in.

[Dapper Dog]

They stood outside what looked like a sweets parlor but the windows were covered and there was no way to see inside.

Thankfully the door looks open.

[Riss]

Wasn't totally suspicious at all. Which meant it was a good thing they agreed upon the super helpful sign of trouble, 'lots of screaming, and maybe a blaster shot.' Which was mostly said in jest but seemed to be all they had to go on as Riss boldly opens the door and walks inside with almost not even a moments consideration. Hand not on the door clenching a bit as she did, that familiar pit in her chest. A nerve that was like to make her jump at the slightest of disturbances.

Inside she finds a man seated at a table with a bloody blade in hand and flecks of clood on his chin. He looked up and smiled and said, “Garrus Uros of House Uros, you must be the other scion of House Lanar, we have been expecting you. Please join us.”

“Sweets?” he offered.

[Riss]

Stopping right in the doorway her finger on her gun-side twitches but she calms it, putting the hand on her hip to hide the tension. With a glance around the room quick she gets an idea of the situation before focusing on him with a smirk, "Nice makeup.. you uh might wanna talk to your stylist cause that look is so not for anyone who remotely wants to look friendly. Which uh.. ya know, makes the whole offering sweets thing wayyy creepier if you didn't know," she chuckles, there's an ease to her tone that barely buries the nervous tinge to it.

Taking a moment to regard him again, "Yikes," she grimaces, shaking her head. "Wanna give me a bit better reason why I shouldn't run out this door and start screaming? T-that'd be real swell. Ya know, other than using my brothers name to get me here. Real dick move, by the way. Thanks for that."

[Dapper Dog]

“Well when in doubt find something your target desires and offer it to them,” he mused.

“Your dear brother is alive for now. But really this is a courtesy, you may not realize it Riss, is it? But Riss, I am doing you a favor. I am, as I said, an agent of House Uros, we perform sanctioned mortality and as it stands there is an open contract for your heads… well any heads of House Lanar.”

“Sure you don’t want the sweets they are delicious,” he said with a smile.

[Riss]

Riss stands still, and quiet, for half a minute. Eyes focused in on the bloody flecks on his chin as she turns over the thoughts in her head. A rise to her shoulders, a long and deep exhale, she nods to herself before walking further into the room. Approaching the table and standing over it, looking down at him and then glancing to the sweets, "What are they even?" she asks, hands resting down on the edge of the table itself.

[Dapper Dog]

“You know… I am not sure, they are fruits dipped in something sweet… oh my they are heavenly. So as I was saying, there is a contract on your heads, and since you have come to Alderaan we are honorbound to collect. But we can offer a blood price of five million credits per head, so an even ten million, savvy?” he offered.

[Riss]

Riss listens, taking one of the sweets as he makes his offer and plopping it into her mouth. What better way to find out than just delving into it, and it gave her some pause as she had to take the time to really chew and savor it for a while longer than reasonably expected. "Kriff me," she gasps, more at the fruit than anything else. Focusing in on him she chuckles, a nervous tinge, "Thanks, by the way, for not killing me, or Bo. I'm gonna guess you have a better idea on what to do instead. Cause you didn't think I was gonna show up here with ten million credits to pay the price," she takes a step back and lays her arms out on either side to give him a good look of her.

"Lanar's a nice name I have but.. it doesn't really have the assets anymore. Which you knew, of course-" she lowers her voice, mumbling- "dick" and then she continues, so.. what're we really talking about here? What do you want instead of the creds?"

[Dapper Dog]

His lower face shows genuine shock.

“Honestly we wanted the credits, but if you can’t manage that well then we are back to the original issue. It would be dishonorable for us to accept any other deal. Queen’s Honor, we really only have one choice. Well, if you truly have no way of coming up with the ten million credits then I think we are done here. May I depart?” he asked.

[Riss]

Heart sinking a little, the panic setting in but the cool tone keeping steady, "How.. about I give it a shot? Sure there's plenty of ways I might be able to figure it out, yea? No need to get hasty with things like getting ready to kill me or my brother, definitely not my brother," she says with a point to it. "What's so hard about getting ten million credits, right?" she chuckles, the nervous tinge still prevalent.

Shaking her head she steps forward again, hand resting comfortably on her hip, "Just tell me how long I got to come up with it. You'll have it."

[Dapper Dog]

He smiled broadly and said, “Well in that case we can abstain from any action for five days. That should be enough to get your affairs in order. And don’t do something as gauche as skipping town, Lady Riss, that would be less than sporting.”

“Savvy?”

[Riss]

"I would never run from my proble-" she holds up a hand, cutting herself off, "this problem, I'd never run from this problem," she says, bringing her free hand up and pointing down toward the floor as if to indicate the situation itself. A nervous smile creeping up onto her expression and when it it hits fully she chuckles briefly.

A nod, "So, yea- 'Savvy'" she mimics him, matching tone.

[Dapper Dog]

"He's in the freezer... tell him nothing personal for the finger," he saluted with the bloody blade and made his way for the door grabbing another sweet on the way.

[Riss]

There was that instinctive anger as her hand twitches, the trigger finger, hand hovering by the blaster a little closer than it had been prior as her eyes narrow in on his back. However, the solid pit in her stomach hits and the nausea kicks in bringing her head on a swivel as she looks for the freezer. Thoughts of the anger flushing out of her mind as a whole different kind of panic sets in. Rushing to the freezer she pries it open if she needs to.

OOC: Give the Jedi a chance to do something.

Kat had been waiting outside, as she had promised to keep a distance to not draw suspicion.

Seeing a stranger leave the shop, with what seemed like sullied hands, she made the split decision; hurry inside the shop to check that Riss and the others in there were alright. Saving people came first, as Master Syo would say, and she had to trust that Organa security could identify or track the man later.

"Riss?" She called out as she stepped inside to take in the scene.

Inside the freezer Riss and Kat found her brother, or the guy claiming to be her brother, hanging upside from binders around his legs slipped over a hook. Frost covered much of his body and he was missing a single finger from his right hand.

“K-k-k-k-Kriff… get m-m-me down!”

[Riss]

Hearing the door open again her head turns, catching sight of Kat. With not much time to explain she points her toward the freezer, "Help me with this?" her tone was a bit panicked and that was before they got the door open.

With the door opened she hesitates a moment, taking in the sight before she glances to Kat, "Well- you heard him," she adds, a touch of levity to her voice concealing the nerves. Moving in to try and lift him she strains a little, letting out a concealing laugh, "I'm real glad I brought you, right about now."
