(Day 1, LM) - Back To Business (ask)

[Arsele Girard]

Having woken up late and had a shower and some breakfast, then done some digging into that message, Arsele finally got around to going where Zeno had directed her. The Thul estates were large indeed, and well guarded (even if a bit run down in some places, but she found where she was supposed to go easily enough.

Dressed in the grey, black, and red of House Girard again, she gave a knock on the tall wooden door she'd been directed to, the nearby guards not so much as turning their heads as she did so.

The guards bring her into an interior garden where man in a suit is seated with a mask on perhaps pruning a tiny tree. He or it looked up and said in a digital modulated voice, "You must be... someone."

Brought from pne place to another, Arsele finds her bearings a bit mixed up before she finds herself in said garden. She lookes around at the plants and the dappled light before turning back to the speaker. Even with her prim and proper training growing up, she can't help a little sarcasm at the reception.

"That's right; Someone, reporting for duty."

A small salute.

"More precisely, I was sent here by one Duke Zeno Thul, who in I was sent to by Dominika Girard, Matron of House Girard. She prays that House Thul is well and that they remember those who stood by them during darker times."

At least part of that was clearly scripted.

“House Thul always remembers,” he said cryptically in that same voice.

“Please have a seat, do you require food, drink? Or shall we get to business. I am amiable to small talk if that sets you at ease. I am told I am a wonderful conversational partner and my smile lights up the room, can’t you tell?” it responded.

"I've eaten recently, thank you. As for small talk... forgive me, but I'm here on business, as it were."

She gave a small shrug.

"Perfectly at ease with it being business, or small talk if you want, but I've got nothing in particular to talk about besides said business. If House Girard hadn't spent so many credits on security during times of conflict, I likely wouldn't even have business to waste your time with either."

“Then business it shall be. We have it on good authority that someone is planning to murder Rhys Organa, under normal circumstances this would bring me great joy as you can tell from my broad smile. But we only found this info because these cretins plan to implicate Thul in the doing… or so we have been led to believe. I need proof. Do you know of a local troublemaker named Tuvi Kirns?” it asked as it pruned the tiny tree.

"I've not heard the name. But then, I was away from Alderaan for some time."

Arsele wasn't sure if the comments about the smile were supposed to be an attempt at humor, or if she was just missing something. Either way, it was immaterial compared to the news.

"I take it you wouldn't bring this up if that 'good authority' wasn't pretty sure of this planning. What does this Tuvi Kirns have to do with the situation?"

"Someone tied to his organization is going to try and kill Rhys Organa, stop it... or expose them whatever your conscious desires," they said as they put down the hydro-snips.

"I presume you have very little conscious but you freelancer types surprise me."

"I'll admit, I normally don't kill. Tend to take the bounty jobs where they want them alive. Not really a compulsion though, just tend to be safer. But instinct tells me this isn't one of those cases. I don't suppose you have anything that might be a bit more... permanent than a static gun I could borrow?"

"What do you need?" they asked.

"Vibroblade, maybe a long rifle. I suppose it depends on this person's defenses. If they're guarded, the latter. If I can catch them on their own, the combination of a static gun and vibroblade is more than enough."

"Send me a list and I can see what I provide at a drop location for you," they responded.

"Generous of you. ...I take it the usual clauses apply? If I'm arrested or injured we never met and I'm working on my own?"
