[Pregame Morning] Pay the Piper

[Garth Wayne Ulgo]

"A Jedi's dance card is often full, just not with the kind of dances that lead to flowers," Tethys deadpans.

A momentary look of sadness crosses Garth's face and he shakes his head sadly. "Well if th't ain't the saddest. Everyone d'serv'es them sort 'f dances now 'n 'gain."

"And I appreciate the ride. Much faster and pleasanter than the timber freighter I meant to take otherwise." Tethys opens a long-fingered hand in Garth's direction in acknowledgement. "You look well, Ms. Mora. I hope Mr. Dolross is also," she adds in a rather more neutral tone than his.

Swiftly yet smoothly Garth reaches up towards Tethys' extended hand and, in his best courtly manner, daintily takes her fingertips in his own before dipping into a deep bow.

"M'lady is far too gen'rous wi' her praise fer mah humble vess'l." As he rises, he pats a small data pad in his top pocket. "Ah hope that were proper, this et'quette guide, well, ah ain't finished readin all o' it."

"Truth be told ah am keen f'r a few creds if y' got something need doin', but ah'm mostly here fer somethin' personal. Just so happens 'n ol' friend needed a lift t' the same corner of the 'verse. Now where's that second rate gent y' suffer t' be yer pilot?"

"I doubt jedi pay well, credits are an attachment right?" Azura smirked "however personal? On Alderaan? Makes sense, basically everyone has something here and the festival seems to be when it comes out" she shrugged "not that I'm that bothered. More credits for us usually."

"Azura, please. I might be someone important now but I ain't going to be called Ms. Mora. Really" Azura chuckled and shook her head " an' Jax ain't around if that's who you're looking for. There's one specific client that really dislikes me, so when he is doin' work for them I don't come along. Just so happens this time I have to suffer the festival alone" she huffed "worst kriffin' timing! What brings you here? More Jedi work? Or you here to squish bugs?"

She looked to Galen with a frown. "Don't I know you too? I feel like we met once. Bankor?"

"We were in a few scraps together back then." he nodded. "Imagine me with a long rifle."

"An' on th' back o mah speeder" Garth adds to try and jog Azura's memory.

"And, taking down that sand demon with Tethys here." he added. "Or, fighting that guy with the axe."

Tethys reclaims her hand from Garth with composure. "Proper enough even to try on an Alderaanian princess, I imagine. Not that I'm an expert either."

The skin between her brows pinches in a little at Galen's mention of the sand demon in the market in Rygor. "Hard to forget that encounter, Mr. Sol." She glances at Azura. Although if you have a clearer memory of the sand demon in front of us than the sharpshooters covering our back, that's also, hm... understandable."

Azura frowned, studying the man.

"He did?"

A few moments later.

"Oh. I think I remember. Allen right? Good shootin' an stuff! But yeah I was more focused on what's in front of me as Tethys here said. Like the sand demony thingy that Tethys...Well, you squished it right?" She looked at the other woman "I remember the exploding saber, other stuff was a bit patchy after takin' it on. Or the big guy with the axe. Kriff I hate axes. Thankfully nobody uses 'em here, otherwise I'd disarm them."

She shrugged.

"So yer all here for the festival? Huh, I don't get it but welcome I guess. You're gonna be bored."

Garth willingly relinquishes Tethys's hand and laughs out loud at Azura's comments.

"There's many words one c'n use t' describe sharin' a city with you Azura, borin' ain't one of 'em. Just try not t' level the Ulgo fortress, ah'd hate me tombstone to say ah died as collateral damage."

"I did, yes," Tethys says calmly. She still isn't quite proud of the way she did it, back then--but she's had years to make peace with herself over the slip in self-control. "After the rest of you wore it down."

The corner of her lips twitches up a bit as Garth conjures images of Azura-centered death and property destruction. "Is the festival so dreadful? Not your first, I take it."

"Been here like....four years? Five? Basically the same each year, boring and kriffin' waste of credits, but ain't my money so don't care. This year seems extra fancy though, lots of spoiling" Azura shrugged "Aint a good party for Jedi, all that attachment and stuff."

She rolled her eyes at Garth.

"An' really? Think I'd be able to walk freely around this kinda planet if I was actively murderin' people? I ain't the same person from that warzone ya know."

Garth just laughs long and loud. "Ah know Azura, just teasin' a little, 'sides if ye hadn't changed from those days I'd be lookin' up at ye from the ground after a comment like that."

"Still no one ah'd rather have at mah back in a scrap though, ah'm sure that much hasn't changed."
