Look what the Cat dragged in (Expecting - LM, Day 1)

[Breela Po]

The sun was high enough now that the rays were hitting Breela through the windows in her office. She awoke in a puddle of drool and did her best to fix the embarrassing bantha lick by splashing water in her face from the bathroom sink. Groaning she reached into her back pack and pulled out a canteen. A quick swig and she was right as rain again.

Taking stock she was inwardly pleased by her progress. Thanks to the steward she already had mirrors on the walls, lockers, bags of all weights. The proper tools and supplies needed to construct a couple of puu-ihminen pylväs (Mu ren zhuang) heaped in a corner. She had already padded half of the floor and the other half would be finished as soon as she started a rhythm. She had a desk, on which she had passed the night, an office chair. She'd probably need a couple of couches and a coffee table. Then a few knick-knacks to round out the atmosphere.

She took another swig of canteen grog before dumping the rest out. "Still haven't decided on demotivational posters, or mind numbing Jedi parables for wall decor." She said to no one. "6 of 1 is half a dozen, right?" She shrugged.

[Niall Organa]

"So I've heard." Niall's cultured Alderaanian voice drifted in through the nearby window. The former captain (although forever Captain Alderaan, it seemed) had been approaching the door, but paused a moment to look inside, and overhear the snippet of self-conversation.

Smiling, he waved, and then gestured to the door. "May I?" He asked. By the look of him, Niall had been awake and fully dressed in formal uniform for some time, the fresh lines of his clothing softening a bit with use.

[Breela Po]

"Hah! Come on in! You can judge my progress for yourself." She ushers him in then sizes him up. "Dressed to impress Captain. Must be tough dealing with all those dignitaries coming and going. I hope at some point you'll visit in workout fatigues."

[Niall Organa]

"Thank you." Niall said, smiling as he stepped inside. "And it's a pleasure to finally meet you face to face, Miss Breela." He paused a few moments, studying the work she'd already put in, hands clasped behind his back. "I see you've been busy. This looks entirely different than the last time I saw it."

Observation done, he turned to her, his smile turning wry. "Indeed. I've been going from one meeting to the next all morning. And likely for the rest of the day as well." He gave her a quick nod. "How have you been finding it? Any troubles so far?"

[Breela Po]

She yawns, "I've barely had time to explore! At some point today I want to visit the festival grounds and see what all the fuss is about. I imagine Alysele is in the same boat then?"

OOC - If you tell her in character about the brunch she'll take off running and attend it.

[Niall Organa]

Niall's smile grew just a little at the mention of his wife. "She is. She said she might be stopping by here, but she has to get ready for some sort of Jedi brunch." He chuckled softly. "Having seen her wardrobe, I can confidently say that it may take her some time to get ready." His tone was very fond indeed.

He frowned suddenly then, looking at Breela. "Ah... I'm afraid I don't know the etiquette of these things. It's a Jedi brunch, but of course Aly isn't part of the order anymore. Not exactly, anyway." He left it there, for Breela to fill in the rest.

[Breela Po]

"A Jedi brunch? It would be interesting to see some old colleagues again." She stood pensively, "but well if etiquette is an issue I suppose I'll run into them eventually. Still I'm a little hurt she didn't mention it." She grinned but suddenly a thought occurred to her. "Ohhh kri-" she checked her messages. "Whoops."

[Niall Organa]

Niall watched, smiling wryly. "Looks like she did mention it after all?" He shrugged. "Well, no matter. And, ah, don't worry too much about attire. Aly was a Jedi, but she's also always been an Alderaanian noble. It's..." He pursed his lips a moment, considering, "-different. But really, we're not quite so snooty as everyone likes to say." He smiled.

Clearing his throat, he waved a hand around. "So, ah, what happens next here?"

[Breela Po]

She sighed, "I'll gussy up somewhat, doubt I'll be anywhere near acceptably presentable even by my own standards."
"Ahh but you mean-" She shook her head. "I'm gonna finish padding the floors, build a few training dummies, pick out the purrfect parables to paint on the walls. Then I'm going to systematically begin kicking the bantha- err I mean training your soldiers and guards." She snickered equally wryly.

[Niall Organa]

Niall chuckled softly, smiling at her. "Yes, I did mean all this." A moments' pause (paws?) and he looked around. "I can almost envision it. Very nice indeed, miss Breela."

The next comment made him laugh. "Well. Very good. I'll have to come down here sometime myself, in fatigues, as you say." He winced, just a little. "I'm afraid despite Vera's attempts to get me to focus on hand to hand fighting, I've never really devoted myself to it. You may have to begin with the basics with me." Niall did look fairly muscular, anyway.
