[Count Serenno]

The Count didn't count the minutes spent in the tranquil environs once he entered the winding paths of the floral gardens. He strode evenly, his cape fluttering from the impetus he himself generated, but not fast enough to deprive himself of the chance to contemplate the colours and imbue his thoughts in the olfactory stimuli. He wouldn't pluck any of the fragrance-givers, of course, that he felt would be presumptuous barbarity. Not all human designs were worth preserving, but the idea that was driving the maintenance of these gardens seemed one of them. The galaxy wasn't short on irreverent violence, but often allowed its counterpoint to slip in neglect and disrepair.

His thoughts at this place were many, he needed to sift them, separating thicker grain from finer one, damp from dry, and bring them into layers he could study. A simple mind-technique to deal with complexity his mentor had once taught him. Not infallible, but good enough. People always made claims of priorities, urgencies and vital interests, but staging and ranking them as they bequeathed themselves to a semblance of order was beyond the grasp of many. The mind ordering itself always met resistance.

[Archibald Serrus]

Another noble with a cape, rapier, and signet ring is also in the flower garden at the moment. Not walking and around contemplating, but kneeling down to smell a rose. Archibald wasn't able to make a stop if he wanted to make it to the festival on time, so this is his first time smelling fresh air in days. The wind a nice change of pace, but it of course gets blocked eventually by the foot traffic and so Archie looks up and sees the refined gentleman. "Count Serenno, it is a pleasure to find you here."

[Count Serenno]

"Either news travel fast or you are a dedicated student of galactic heraldry, young lord Serrus." The Count turned with a flurry of his cape to greet Archibald. He took the time to discern the crest himself. "I didn't expect to be recognised so easily." A due formal greeting followed. "Truly, a place like this carries the kind of magnetism life's own intensity in variety only exudes, and so have I been lured in." He gestured toward the flower garlands.

[Archibald Serrus]

"It is not difficult for the accomplishments of the ruler of a planet recently freed from Sith control to spread on the holonet, and I am afraid that I might soon have to do the same for Balmora. Part of this treaty they just signed is that the Republic must pull all forces from the planet, but what sort of noble would i be if i did nothing for the people who proudly work for my family?" Archibald takes a look around, taking in another deep breath. "This sort of display is only possible once stability is achieved, and I know there are a lot of places where that won't be possible for quite a while. Pardon for not giving my name earlier, I am Archibald Serrus, second heir to the House."

[Count Serenno]

"The first obligation of any noble is to their people." The Count replied with a nod, brushing his fingers on a floral garland, careful not to disturb bumblebees. "Now to find the right means for the right goal. Is it why you are visiting the festival, young lord Serrus?"

[Archibald Serrus]

"Yes, but also because I am the eldest of my household who is not currently married. It would be an insult to Alderaan if we did not send at least one to represent our family."

[Count Serenno]

"If I may ask, this praiseworthy sentiment is out of general sense of noblesse, or does your house have a history of deep ties to the families of Alderaan than need to be cultivated across generations?"

[Archibald Serrus]

"I will say it currently out of noblesse, but if the force says it to be otherwise, I would not be opposed."

[Count Serenno]

"So you are more of a history-maker then, lord Serrus." The Count nodded. "That sometimes indeed happens. Regardless of complexity of civilisation and the multitude of beings involved in its workings there always come moments when the path onward depends on a relatively basic decision of a single sentient being."

[Archibald Serrus]

"I only hope I can make it a good one for as many people as possible. Either way it's a good idea to clear your head before picking up the pen."

[Count Serenno]

"Undoubtedly." The Count nodded. "Would the roses be your favourite?"

[Archibald Serrus]

"I actually prefer the Iris, but I figured it is important to keep the sentiments that are required for the task at hand. I am looking forward to future interactions with you, but for now there is much I have to learn if I am to not make a fool of myself tomorrow. "

[Count Serenno]

"By all means." The Count bowed, and gave the man the space he required, strolling forth.
