[Day 1 - EA] Queen's Protests

Everyone else was, so Garth decided to throw in his own 2 creds into the conversation.

"Ah'm sure yer right princess, not all th' Imps are evil, but when th' people of Alderaan have only seen one side, that's all they know. Maybe we can help show 'em a diff'rent side 'f Lana. If they c'n see her as you see her, that might help?"

She nodded to Garth and then said to her brother, "I am fine, brother. But I think it is time to go."

Galen stepped away. More royalty and more guards, he was diffinately out of place. He watched the princess and her brother, offering her a friendly, encouraging smile if she looked his way.

It likely didn't mean much, but she looked tired and stressed.

Garth offered the incoming Prince a short bow before turning to face the crowd, but speaking to Galen.

"Shall we stay here 'n keep an eye on this mob? Make sure they dunna follow the royals 'n stir up more trouble?"

Bran had not entirely abandoned the scene, waiting for Garth to have his say, and the arrival of more guards drew his attention. He observed quietly, seeming to speak to Kaleena who was at his shoulder, but they were too quiet to be heard by anyone.

“Escort her back to the palace,”” he commanded to his guard and then took charge of security.

He began organizing a perimeter, he was used to this kind of work and his guards operated with precision. Once satisfied he approached Galen and Garth and said, “You have my thanks for stepping in, it seems my people underestimated the security threat. It won’t happen again.”

“I have no reports of harm, though I sense Brannis Ulgo could use a clean shirt, on behalf of the people I apologize for such rough treatment.”

"An don' be too hard on yer people. They had the sense not t' turn this into a bloodbath, which with th' cameras around would've been much worse."

He glanced at his people at work and said, “Yes, it could have been worse. I am glad they acted quickly and that individuals like yourselves worked to escalate the situation. That speaks well of your character and bearing. These protests were viewed as a simple nuisance but I will have to commit more resources to the matter if they get worse.”

"I mean, if you just treat 'em as a simple nuisance instead of addressin' why they're like this, aint they just gonna get worse?" Azura commented as she reached the group "this is one o' the worst I've seen, but that just means they're gettin' worse already. Even I can see how restless some types are, an' the more you wave that off the more they'll do to get your attention."

She shrugged.

"I don't wanna see anyone get hurt, but fingers in ears is gonna lead to that."

“The people have a right to protest, we cannot crack down on that without undue cause and a heavy handed response could incite more extreme groups to come out. I admit we may have been too hands off, but we try to err on the side of the people to allow them the basic freedoms ensconced in our dedication to the Republic values and our own constitution as it were. It would be disingenuous to do otherwise,” he cited and then realized he was giving a literal speech.

“In short, my hands were tied, but their actions today give us more latitude in the future.”

"Citizens are allowed to be armed, but that is troubling if that had gotten violent," he responded.

"Thankfully, your sister and the others calmed the crowd." he nodded. "Otherwise, I don't think it would have taken much to spark an incident."

"Next time I doubt we will be so lucky," he said.

"I'm sure additional security measures will be taken." He glanced at the guards, then at the others. "And, I imagine more eyes will be watching for any more threats to peace. I hope the princess isn't discouraged by this."

He said tersely, "Doubtful, she's as stubborn as a vulgin mule."

Blai kept around trying to understand what the protesters were saying... And now trying to pay some attention to the exchange between Unther and the others.

The only people close by were Queen's Guard and the other guests of note. The protestors were long scattered and the princess, long gone.

“Some kind of elite soldiers of House Thul, all I know,” Tuvi offered.

He looked at the Count and then just rolled his eyes and added, “Blackguard are said to be real dangerous.”

Of course... politics as usual. She trades contact information with Tuvi saying, "Let me know if you guys need protection. I'll do what I can for you." The name she gives him is a false one Brianne Shi and the contact is a burner.

In the meantime, she thought, I've got a conspiracy to unravel.
