Aurilie was late, fashionably late, to the skeet shooting gathering. From the sound of loading, blaster firing and chatting, she already got the impression that it was underway. She casually strolled in dressed in a green tweed blazer, matching dapper cap, and brown leather pants. There were a few nods given to some those she had already spoken do since the start of the festival and those whose reputation proceeded them.

At this point, there wasn't really a point of hurrying and shooting your shot, so to speak. The practice was far more than making an impression, as far as she was concerned and her careful attitude said just that. She pulled her gun bag and set it down to take out her bolt-action rifle. It was an archaic artifact, although the scope on it said otherwise. She took her time with giving it a thorough inspection to make sure everything was perfect before loading it with the necessary bullets. Once she was ready, she readied the rifle on the shoulder and concentrated with a breath before firing a few shots at some targets.

Day 2, Late Afternoon: Some Heavy Ranged Shooting at Hard: 3eP+1eA+3eD 2 successes, 1 advantage, 1 Triumph

It wasn't pleasant as the rifle crack sharply in the air but she did manage to strike a few targets in quick succession.

Bran told himself not to take it seriously. Especially since this was infantry work. The kind of thing Calias would be great at, and that he should be here for. But Bran was here and, somewhat foolishly opting to try for multiple targets in succession, he put up the incredible series of shots that he needed. Thank you, Calias, he silently prayed.

Finished, he looked around and probably appeared just a bit amazed with himself, and probably no one noticed the bead of sweat on his forehead from the intense focus he'd brought.

"Not many people use slugthrowers these days. Even on the Outer Rim I see folks still preferring blasters, but... it does seem you sparked a competition with your skill, sir Corren," she remarked with amusement, watching the three princes ready their shots.

The display earned another polite applause, especially considering Unther doing it with a bit more flair.

"Quite the talent show we're treated today. Though it seems high highness prince Gaul should do like myself and spend some more time practicing."
"You find a few more slug throwers when you get to a lot of the truly long distance rifles, like the Czerka Model 38. It's one of the finest sharpshooters rifles around, they're tailor made though and not something you see everyday." He'd only ever handled one himself. He was about to go on a bit more but shook his head. "I'm sure you don't want to stand around and chat about guns though."

The prince joining in on the conversation was a bit of surprise even if the comment was a bit of an aside. Thoguh there wasn't much to add to that conversation at least from him so he just nodded along to The Ulgo woman's words. "But yeah, quite the talent show." He eventually added as he offered the woman in brown in green a respectful nod at her shot. It was quite masterful as well.

It wasn't her usual style of weapon, but counted as practice for later anyway right?

Takind advantage of the setting up of weapons she picked out one and took a shot. Not the greatest, but for a very quick scoop and shoot it'll do.

Having had little time to practice of late, Kellen was rather keen to take the opportunity. With a grin at the antics of the princes he found himself a target rifle. There were a whole array of targets of varied difficulty and it was tempting to get sighted in on something easy. "Hmm, no. Let's try something a little more difficult."

He wasn't an expert like Gil, or the woman who had just unleashed a series of trick shots, but he could shoot. The shot struck true. A minor victory but he would take it.

She smirked, “I’ve worked hard to become so. My dad was busy teachin’ me how to shoot not long after I could walk.”

She nodded to the collection of Panteer boys, “You all seem to have spent time shooting together as well.”
"That's cause mom took us hunting from a young age, until Gaul found ways to get out of it," Joran replied.

She smiled as she glanced over at Gaul, “Not for everyone I guess.”

She then turned back, “My dad tried to freak me out of going with him on my first hunting trip as a kid. Said I’d have to drink the blood of the first thing I killed to ‘teach me the consequences’ of takin’ a life.”

She smiled, “He was just bluffin’ though. Never seen him so proud as when I shot that first Brentaalian Stag down.”

“Father was not much of a hunter, more statesman, like Gaul. Drinking blood… little extreme but I think I see your father's point,” he responded.

She nodded, "My dad was a decent guy. He actually fought here with Jace Malcolm and the rest of the Havoc Squad when Darth Malgus attacked Alderaan."

She smiled, "His last mission actually... if I remember right."

"Would that be all weapons, or just the blasters?" she asked with an amused curiosity to her voice. Kriff, why does he give me the same vibes as Riss? Of course, she didn't leave Gil out of the conversation as he had been the one to spark this impromptu competition-vibe, with the assistance of lt. Tenaar.

"But I'm glad you trust the Republic and the Jedi, your highness." There as a sense of relief to her words.

"Who else would I trust? The Hutts? The Sith? The Republic is the last bulwark against, well, a great deal of bad in the galaxy. It's not perfect but it's much better than the alternatives," he responded.

"Much better."

She nodded and there was a bit of an awkward silence for the next couple of seconds.

“We did, Unther was doing home defense I was out and abroad. I wanted more action but well… we made peace or a cease fire… I am not sure. I call it a surrender, but we’ll get a second chance to smash the Sith for good, I am sure,” Joran responded.

She gave him an affirmative look, "You'll get your chance man. Just gotta be ready for when you do."

“I mean we got rules and stuff. It’s what makes us the good guys. But they won’t ever stop.” She nodded in agreement.

“From what I see you’re a man of action. I like it.” She nodded affirmatively.

She nodded at Unther’s contribution.

“For sure. I get what you’re both getting at… and I definitely see what Joran’s sayin’. They hurt us bad twice… but it hasn’t broken us. We gotta be us. Our rules set the table… they then try and figure out what they wanna do to overturn the table. But we ain’t no spring chickens anymore. We’ll be ready. We know their games better and we’ll win in the end.”
