[Day 2 - EA] Lillies at Play

[Lana Beniko]

Garth is wandering the garden with a small basket of flowers as he comes across the procession of people. He offers a polite smile and nod, observing for a few minutes and seeing Lana unengaged approaches.

"My thanks fer th' tip 'bout the soup time this mornin' ah think it was nice t' see so many people doin' some good."

"It was a pleasant distraction," she responded calmly, yellow eyes locking onto his.

A sudden Jedi appeared!

"Well well well, look who the manka cat dragged in." She smiled widely. "Long time no see Beniko."

She curtsied towards the princess as well. "Princess."

Her eyes turned towards the large figure, towering in a looming way, all friendly in the "I will kill you and eat breakfast over your corpse" kind of way.

Aly extended her senses, trying to gauge the mood of Ser Blackarmorsocool.

Lana didn't smile but she did focus her eyes on Alysele and said, "Nar Shaddaa, correct? We tracked down a murderer that was hunting Force users."

"I had nearly forgotten that debacle. The first true test of my Power."

OOC: The Blackguard gives off a feeling of annoyance, not a peaceful feeling but a focused one.

"Mhm...he was a piece of work, for sure." She eyed her carefully. "What have you been up to dear, since your first true test?" She effortlessly glided next to her, seemingly paying no mind whether Beniko had any desire for the conversation.

"My old life is dead, I serve only Thul now," he said grimly.

"A rebirth and a cause, this can be a noble thing indeed! A purpose not given to you but one chosen then embraced with vigour! I had a similar one many years ago."

"We have a duty to so, we cannot become so disconnected that we take them for granted. I spent so much time abroad off-world, you forget how much the rest of the Republic struggles especially in the outer regions. It really opened my eyes to well how sheltered and privileged I really am," she said.

Jameela frowned and added, "I apologize, My brother just... he means well, and he came around eventually."

Omandri waved a hand dismissively "Oh please Princess there is nothing to be sorry for. I was just poking a bit of fun he did come around and help out and just being there can make a difference as people in you positions. I mean I'm willing to bet that kitchen has never had so many volunteers in one day." He replied with an easy going smile.

"As for our responsibility I entirely agree. Wanting to understand the galaxy and my place in it is a lot of what drove me to spend the last five years traveling and providing Healthcare to those without access to it. It can be very hard to really understand how some people live out there without actually going and experiencing it."

Garth smiles at Lana's reply, grateful for the timing of Aylsele's appearance, for he was not the greatest conversationalist. Besides, his afternoon had gone from picking flowers as he prepared for his poetry reading, to an unexpected brush with the Princess. He remembered all too clearly what had occurred the last time their paths had crossed.

Seeing everyone else, including the Princess's bodyguards, engaged in conversation, Garth let his feelings reach out, to try and see if any more possible protesters, or worse, might be around the next corner.

Perhaps it was his focus on yesterday's near violent confrontation that threw his focus, maybe it was his internal conflict about the upcoming poetry event, either way he couldn't find the connection he sought.

"Yes and tomorrow I doubt it will be so lucky," she responded. "Are you a medical doctor by trade, then?"

"I hope we can speak on it again Ser. I cannot say what lies within your armour. But I know we are all of us capable of great love, and of being loved. Perhaps something to ponder over this great festival of ours?"

With another bow to those assembled and a last look at Ser Monstrous, Keyhote went on his way.

I cannot account for his time when off-duty but he was focused on promoting strong relations with the Empire as long as we worked towards peace. It failed, but not for lack of trying,” she responded.

“Internal affairs of the Empire took precedence. Though I did learn a great deal of the political structure of the Republic from him, your division of military and secular, or is that civilian, rule is interesting.”

Lana is complicated, she feels a calm but not born of peace of seething and focused angered, ice cold and methodical. The effort to push through her defenses and feel her thoughts is monumental, forming tiny beds of sweat on Alysele’s brow.

Lana replied, “Ziost is a core Imperial world, a seat of power. The greatest Imperial families maintain residence there and the games of power and intrigue are ever ongoing. They have long ago eschewed pageantry for efficiency and lethality.”

“It is beautiful though, the cities are aesthetically designed and pleasing, and poverty is non-existent.”

Lana responded, “Before the incident through state-controlled work force of conscripted sentients. Shortly after the incident, a state sponsored work and re-education program. The Empire will find your place and then duly compensate you for it.”

“It is efficient and effective. Your Republic may see it as severe; we see it as stable.”
