She would punch in a string of text into her communicator, exchanging the suggestion with Zayne.

"Well, I don't know about all that. You and he would know better than me how to handle that sort of stuff. At least it's an option on the table. Even if you don't join him, at least you might coordinate with him, get him to ask some questions that might be useful to your end as well."

She nodded, "I have my people working on some of it too... I'll try and loop you all in as soon as I know stuff."

[Layne Hoshin]

"I mean, the faster we could get this resolved the better obviously," she said with a casual shrug. "I think they start sending assassins after me tomorrow."

Another shrug. "But you know, no rush."

[Delmi Koor]

Delmi nodded and had a concerned and confused look on her face, "And uhh... when would that stop on its own? After you kill everyone?"

[Layne Hoshin]

"Honestly? I don't know, the rules are still a little vague to me. Supposedly this is all perfectly legal on Alderaan, and there's some sort of law or clause that says the victims can't go taking revenge on the house of assassins because they're only the dagger being wielded by someone else or some nonsense like that... but I'm not sure that really applies when it's the Duchess herself starting it. Eh. It's complicated banthapoo I guess."

There was a pause. "I probably *shouldn't* try and kill everyone. Or anyone for that. If I can avoid it. You know, redemption arc and all that."

[Delmi Koor]

"I mean... I'm probably not the best gal to ask about all that... If someone was tryin' to kill me though... I think I'd make it so they couldn't do that again." Delmi said.

"You need any... uhh... backup? I can't do it probably... but I got some friends in the SIS. I could see if they would keep an eye out for ya..."

[Layne Hoshin]

"Well, I wouldn't mind people keeping an eye out from afar, make sure I don't get poisoned in my sleep at least. But I don't exactly want to get other people involved too closely either. Anybody who'se too closely allied to me is apparently free game to them."

“These people are crazy man… Crazy as Nar Shaddaa but with all the trappings of a nice dinner party…” She said with a shake of her head.

"I can't say I'm very fond of this sort of thing," she said, "It reminds me too much of my time back in the Empire. Criminals writing the very laws they're supposed to follow. Obviously they're not all like that, but... well, the Republic's supposed to be better than this."

Delmi nodded, “Can’t really see why they don’t figure out a way of resolving issues that doesn’t include killing people… Seems like that’s pretty crazy.”

[Layne Hoshin]

She sighed. "Not gonna lie, I mean... I more than most people get that sometimes we have to bad shit to avert worse shit. But... yeah, it doesn't feel great. Sure, Republic's lightyears better than the Empire when it comes to this stuff. But. Well..."

Layne turned melancholic for a moment. These sorts of issues had been weighing on her since before she even came back to Alderaan.

"...well anyway. So you got the angle of Bilyana. The other threads, honestly I don't have a clue where to start. But I can't just keep sitting still either. So, if you have *anything* to go on, anything you feel I'd be suited for... please, by all means, don't hold back. At this point I'd probably just end up tossing darts at a dartboard."

“I’ll see what I can find… if we get anything actionable I’ll head out with you if you need backup.”

"I could certainly use a second set of eyes and attached brain when it comes to all this investigative stuff," she said with a nod.

She nodded and smiled softly, “And I can use someone with a laser sword who also is ready to follow their gut when shit gets real.”
