Day 3 [LM] Thul Me Once (Closed)

"Ah...now this is a foreboding structure! Look at the practised use of decay, and crumbling battlements, the twisted weeds. These are villains who understand presentation."
Sando nods as the two approach the entrance
"It's every bit the villain's castle yer lordship. Right down to the black clad villains guarding it."

Keyhote nods before rapping thunderously on the entranceway door.
"Indeed, but our quest is to spread love to all the corners of the galaxy. Not just those with modern architectural design. Today we seek our Ser Monstrous!"

Keyhote hovers over beside the huge warrior and observers the soldiers
"A beautiful day to be out and about is it not? How are these lads doing?"

He turned to the Hutt, “Hutt, they are doing better. But still need improvement.”

"Ah yes! A knight's quest and training are never done; good is not good enough! But no Ser, I had come to speak with you, if you had the time."

"Why?" was the reply.

"Why does anyone wish to speak to another? To share thoughts and learn truths. You are no droid Ser, no automaton. Beneath your armour is a person with thoughts and feelings. Why should I not wish to speak with that person?

The squire presented a small covered basket of baked goods.

"I would hear your story. You seem to be a well travelled biped, the smuggler's moon and now here. I feel compelled to ask why anyone would wish to be known as 'Ser Monstrous'. Pantha can provide musical accompaniment as required."

His squire nods with a scone in his mouth.

"Tell me your story, Hutt," he retorted.

"Very well. Although I am longer lived than most so it will take some time. Pantha, set for tea!"
Sando begins hurriedly laying out a camping table and arranging silverware as Keyhote launches into his tale.

"I was born, as most hutts are, many centuries ago to my father Gorro. Even as a young Huttling I yearned for adventure outside of the protection of my father's pouch. But he, ever watchful for our clan's enemies, refused me. So instead I read and learned. I discovered the great endless galaxy that existed somewhere out there. I read about its peoples and creatures and above all I read about love. Love it seemed was the basis for all the great stories. Romantic love, of love kin, love of friends, love of a planet or a way of doing things. And for evil it was love of self, the dark love."

Sando politely inquires if Ser Monstrous takes sugar with his tea

"When I was finally old enough as a young Huttling of 70 I began my journey. I have travelled across the galaxy ever since, fighting and questing for love. I have seen it in winter snows and blistering heat. In the cold void of space and beneath the crushing pressure of an ocean. It has been revealed to me in the eyes of mothers and the smiles of children. I have even seen it bloom on a battlefield. And now Ser, I am here."

Keyhote daintily reaches down a picks up a tea cup to sip from.

"Now come, I have told you my story. Surely one as fearsome as yourself cannot be concerned about telling their own?"

He is silent and then said, “I am Ser Monstrous, third knight of the Blackguard. My house was destroyed in the exodus, and House Thul took me in, my talents had one purpose to wage war on the enemies of House Thul.”

There is a pop and hissing as he removed his helmet and said, “I had the gift and was brought into the fold and swore an oath to defend Duchess Thul and her House from it’s enemies. I have forsworn my name and all prior connections, I am now only Ser Monstrous.”

"That it is! I am told you are the elite, the best of the best. I have even heard some say that you are the most potent fighting force on Alderaan, is that true?"
A scone, tiny in Kyhote's great hand, is devoured.

"And modest too? A rare trait in most of the elite warriors I have know, although few are more modest than myself. But, Ser, you have told me your reasons for joining the Blackguard, you have told me of the Blackguard's skills and reputation. But what do you fight for?"
