Day 3 LM: Bringer of Sisterly Pain

It was not the first time Baesal got down the old hive. She knew some of the pathways and was making steady progress.

''We will be there soon...but I expect you to know that.''

She really *is* pissed, huh?

Layne hadn't been happy about the way things had gone herself either, of course. But she didn't feel like she had done anything wrong either. It had been a solid plan; and if it had worked as intended, everything would've been great. That it went down this way instead, well, the Force hadn't seen fit to warn her about it... maybe it was supposed to happen this way. If there was no cure for the whole 'becoming a joiner' thing, like she'd been told... well, then maybe this was even the best outcome.

But reiterating that point to Baesal wasn't likely to do much good at the moment, so she just followed the other Jedi along. A hand on one of her hilts just in case.

''Sooooo...how does your vendetta thing going on?'' came the voice filtered through the mask

[Layne Hoshin]

"I'm... working on it. Got her to back off from involving Tyche, found out a few things... but it isn't anywhere near enough yet. I'm confident, but... I don't think I'm gonna be able to get enough together to get her to back off before the first goons come after me. Things might get a little messy."

''Mmhmm...'' despite the mask worry came to visible ''That is problematic to be sure but tell me if you need support. Even clandestine one...I could make you something that could save your life but it's long and expensive to make so it'll need a heads up''

At that point of the journey they had reached a lower level

Corpses of killiks and joiners were left where they died, and the halls covered in chitin. They also hear others down here and people speaking in Basic.

They hear a woman whistle and then say, "Well looks like they really did it, chased the damned bugs out. The Count will be pleased to have access to these grounds. Gonna take years to clean the bug filth."

''It seems there are other entrances beyond the one we used'' she noted as she adjusted her scanning goggles in the way to the group

"Uhm....what exactly are you suggesting?"

She had to admit, despite being relatively confident in her abilities to deal with Rist assassins, Layne was at least *curious* about what exactly Baesal was proposing to build. She couldn't imagine what might be constructed that would help, that she didn't already have. Unless it was like a thermal detonator boobytrap or something.

The moment the voices were heard though, Layne got quiet. Without any idea of who they were facing, she opted for caution.
